In this story, El-Sayed says that a Muslim store owner with a full beard challenged him because his beard was too short, and thus not in compliance with Sharia rules. Enraged, El-Sayed picked up a bottle of vodka from the store’s stock and smashed it on the floor, telling the alarmed storekeeper that he wasn’t in compliance with Sharia, either, since he was selling alcohol. “Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: That he heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying in the year of the Conquest (of Mecca) while he was in Mecca, “Allah and His Apostle have made the selling of wine (i.e. alcoholic drinks) unlawful.” — Sahih al-Bukhari 4296
In March 2009, Abdul El-Sayed said: “Ultimately, the question is, when I die and I stand before God and go through everything I did in my life, I don’t want to say I did it the easy way instead of the Shariah-compliant way.”
Yes, his beard is too short. But is it really wise for Michigan to send a largely Sharia-compliant Muslim to the Senate? Leftists would say yes, as Sharia is harmless religious law. But it isn’t. It’s political, supremacist, expansionist and violent.

I just thought of something. What was Al-bro doing in a liquor store? If Al-bro was there to correct this Islamist for selling liquor, why wasn’t it a problem until Mo pointed out Al-bro’s beard was too short? Was Al-bro upset because he couldn’t buy a case of Allah aged scotch?

Incidentally, anyone with the name El-Sayed is supposedly a direct descendant of muhammad. The name is highly honoured and deeply respected across the Arab and muslim worlds. So any muslim with such an honoured entitlement would feel so full of self importance, and may even think that the shop owner should feel privileged that he’d smashed a bottle of his vodka.

How do you reckon the violence of Christians and religious disputes, let alone violence? Or Jews for that matter? The Ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel even attack Christians let alone harass secular Israelis, especially how women are dressed. There’s a Jewish Orthodox no-go zone in New Jersey. They complain about a lot of things and are insular like the Amish.
We experience violence, theft, domestic violence, etc. by Christians all the time, let alone any religion. Discrimination too. Try being a humanist non-believer in any religion. There’s only ONE in Congress, Jared Huffman, as it is a political tightrope and he’s endured all sorts of negativity and harassment, but he got elected, thanks to not everyone being a Bible-thumping nationalist. Those Jan 6’ers very much involved religion, which was redacted from the reports. Huffman points out how Christian Nationalism is a threat, so even though I’ve studied a fair amount of Islam and see what’s going on, I’m not concerned about a handful of Muslims in Congress, no less a crackpot paranoid person about “commies” either.
At least Sayed addressed the non-believers too which Christian politicians are loathe to say. Political views about Israel are held by millions around the world.
Your handle reminds me of why Jews and Muslims historically didn’t produce art, e.g. portraits and depictions of “real living things.” Design, yes.
The beards is one of those go either way allowable rules. It’s supposed to be long enough to grab with the fist, but there are plenty of non-bearded Muslims so that guy is conservative. You can get alcohol in any Muslim country—some legally, some bootlegged.
In the US, there are way more Christian fundamentalists who are a problem even wanting to ban criticism of Christianity—blasphemy and that comes from the Trump administration folks. We are going so backwards and people should be aware and balanced in their views.

Judaism and Christianity *do not* teach violence–and unilateral violence is a crime here in the civilized world.
And no–there is no “Jewish Orthodox no-go zone” in New Jersey. A “no go” zone is where outsiders are harrassed, robbed, assaulted, or even killed. And the police themselves are afraid to enter. The claim that this is true of Jewish orthodox–or of the Amish–is utterly false.
And there are four Congresspersons who have no religious affiliation–not just one. And the implication that they are persecuted is untrue.
And your having no problem with Islam in our government means that you are either pro-Jihad and Shari’ah, or are not paying attention. But you say that you have studied Islam, and *still* don’t care. Very troubling.
And yes–lots of thugs hate democratic Israel and want to see her destroyed for daring to defend herself. You don’t say how this is a good thing.
And El-Sayed regularly expresses his hate for America and non-Muslims. You also do not say why *that* is a good thing.
And you could not be more wrong about my tongue-in-cheek username. I’m an artist and illustrator. Claiming that I oppose the depiction of “real living things” shows that you have done little reading here. I’ve also drawn “Prophet” Muhammad, and have received death threats as a result.
And the idea that going beardless or drinking alcohol is somehow an indication of rejection of Jihad could not be more mistaken.
And it is Muslims–not Christians–who are trying to ban any criticism of religion.
And the idea that we should not dare criticize anything about the horrors of Islam to remain “balanced” is just sickening,
