Jason Arday, who resigned from his position as “the youngest black professor” at the University of Cambridge, has been found dead at an address in Battersea. He was driven to that biathanatic end by having been revealed as a plagiarist, a mythomane, a man who padded his C.V. with a list of works he had supposedly written but that did not exist, and a list of universities where he claimed to have taught but where he had never set foot. In that C.V. wherein he “doth sweetly recommend himself,” he even made preposterous claims about his athletic prowess, claiming to have run 600 miles in six days, a claim he later modified to “600 miles in twelve days.” Finally, investigative journalists from The Telegraph published the truth about him and Affirmative Action Arday had to resign. He realized he was now not only unemployed, but unemployable. His very name — Jason Arday — may well enter the language to indicate similar affirmative-action academic frauds, just the way “Quisling” has entered the English language to signify a traitor.
But beyond Jason Arday himself, who helped drive him to this? It was not those who mocked him, but those imbeciles who hired him, who didn’t care whether he was a plagiarist, a mythomane, or anything else. They condemned him to an academic life of faking, and floundering, of not waving, but drowning. Sooner or later the truth would come out about Jason Arday. But he would not have been humiliated — causing a sickness unto death — in the first place if those who had hired him (not because they were truly impressed with him, but because they simply wanted to hire a black faculty member) had not done so, and spared him an inevitable world of woe. No, they didn’t give a damn about Jason Arday and his dim future prospects. They knew that hiring him was the right thing to do, the virtue-signaling way to improve Cambridge, where there was “too much whiteness in education.” They were prepared to sacrifice the woefully unprepared Jason Arday because it made them feel better. How many of them do you think will now be willing to recognize their role in his death? I only know the name of one of those responsible for his hiring. That is Sonita Alleyne, OBE, FRSA, who is the Master of Jesus College, to which Arday belonged. Her own background has nothing to do with academic life. She is the first black leader of an Oxbridge college. Her claim to fame is that she is the co-founder and former CEO of Somethin’ Else, a cross-platform media production company. You can find out more about this preposterous woman here.
Let’s go back to why Jason Arday was hired in the first place. The full and shameful story has just appeared here: “Cambridge took advice from pro-BLM group before hiring Arday,” by Albert Tait, Telegraph, August 14, 2026:
The Cambridge University department that appointed Jason Arday took advice on its hiring process from a pro-Black Lives Matter diversity taskforce, The Telegraph can reveal.
An “equality and inclusion” working group was tasked with “updating hiring practices” within the university’s faculty of education to improve its recruitment of black and ethnic minority staff.
The group, which supported the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 and attacked “racial inequalities” within the faculty, was still advising the department on hiring policies shortly before Mr Arday was appointed in 2022.
The revelation will raise further questions for the department, which has been accused of lowering its standards to hire Mr Arday as a professor to improve its diversity, equality and inclusion credentials.
Mr Arday, who was a professor of sociology of education at the university, resigned from his academic post at the start of this month after becoming embroiled in a plagiarism row, revealed by The Telegraph.
In a letter to university staff on Tuesday, Prof Deborah Prentice, the university’s vice-chancellor, called Mr Arday’s appointment an “aberration” and appeared to shift blame on to the faculty for its decision to appoint him.
The faculty launched the Equality and Inclusion Working Group (EIWG) in 2018 in response to concerns from graduate students about racism and cultural insensitivity within the faculty.
An account of the working group’s creation is detailed on the website of the Faculty of Education Research Student Association (FERSA), a student-run organisation for graduate research students within the faculty….
The Telegraph has also revealed that academics who sat on the interview panel had published work attacking “whiteness” in education.
And that is why Jason Arday was hired — because there was “too much whiteness in education,” and that state of affairs was intolerable. It simply had to be corrected. What a mess, both mentally and morally. Will these racist clowns who hired Arday at Cambridge without doing the slightest investigation, or perhaps, still worse, having done a partial investigation, decided that they would hire him anyway, now be shamed for their role in his death? I would like especially for the role of Sonita Alleyne in this squalid business to be investigated by the British press. Do you think any of those involved in Arday’s hiring will be able to comprehend what they have done?
I lived for a few years in Cambridge, England, on Porson Road, named after the famous 19th century classicist who taught at the university. A later classicist, and poet, at Cambridge, was A.E. Housman. When I think of Jason Arday in subfusc, the Great Pretender crossing Trinity Great Court, or more likely, walking “up the Chimney” at Jesus College, Housman’s verse comes to mind:
Into my heart an air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Liberals murdered this man by Proxy. DEI is DIVIDE ELIMINATE ( any oppositopn) and IMPOSE their Satanic Strategy be it Fabian or some other toxic derivative of the Marxian Gospel of equality tolerance and ignorance, Can you not hear echose of Belbury College of which the late CS Lewis wrote in “That Hideous Strength”?
The poor Chap should have worked as a Barista – he would have been happier.

Arday is solely responsible. He was a fantasist, a liar, and a fraud who sold his fantasy to the one group of buyers who would invest in it.
He was a dedicated racist who cried “racism!” when cracks in his web of lies were discovered.
He, and he alone, did not have the conviction to face the truth when his self-constructed lies were uncovered despite his liberal investors myriad attempts to hide the truth.
Yes, liberal “academics” enabled his fraud and they should be judged and ultimately punished for their fraudulent enabling.
However, Arday’s death rests solely in his own outrageously dishonest hands.
Peter William Watson says
Forensically of course he made that decision but had he not been enabled he might have turned into a normal/acceptable member of Society. We’re faced with the same question about those who overdose on Fentanyl or Ketamine. No one operates on his own so I think the answer is somewhat more complex than you might want it to be.
Istanbul_Chick says
He was an egregious liar and racist.
Those lies and racism were solely his own.
He was a toxic human being guilty of lying and racism enabled by other toxic human beings guilty of racism and fraud.
None of them are “normal/acceptable” human beings.
However, there is nothing complex about toxic, self-serving human beings who will always be toxic whether they are enabled or not.
Peter William Watson says
Your bitterness is palpable. All human beings are sinners – you and I too – and if you are judging human beings as normal (I think you mean decent), few are at that level in the Academy these days. Acceptable he may not have been but he MIGHT have been more acceptable had he not had his ego stroked by guilt ridden idiotic Marxists. It’s a mott point anyway as he is dead. God will judge him as He will judge all.
Istanbul_Chick says
Bless your heart.
A woman disagrees with you so she’s “bitter.”
You are the one who set the parameters to “normal/acceptable.” I made no such comparison.
I judge people on how toxic and disruptive they are to other human beings.
Declaring everyone racist, which was the default setting of the fantasist Arday, (and, likewise, the default setting of today’s liberal academics) is toxic and disruptive and often damaging to their fellow human beings.
It’s not complex because people do make choices (or operate) on their own. I don’t disagree that there are people who enable others’ poor choices, but that is also not complex; Some people are simply toxic and not judging them (and avoiding them) is self-destructive.

Sorry – not a single tear from this white, male emeritus professor purged in spite of supposed tenure protections for holding heterodox political views and requiring students to fulfill well defined work expectations in return for desired grades. Liberal faculty and lazy students can all go and impale themselves for all I care.
Rick Gordon says
Jason is clearly responsible for taking his life. He is responsible for the outright lies in his CV and for accepting the position at Cambridge. The University is responsible for his inappropriate hiring and ethical lapse.

“attacking whiteness in education”?
how about attacking whiteness in Medicine? in aerospace technology? In literature? fine art and architecture?
These individuals migrate to societies which are predominately “white”, They take advantage of every benefit provided by this white society and, on some level, they can’t identify.
They accuse white people of racism when they are unable to achieve what they consider their due.
and that is only the beginning of a psychological process.
he is responsible for his lies and his demise. He was a very disturbed individual.

Why didn’t he just move to Minnesota where he would have been welcomed with open arms and a professorship at the university of Minnesota where just his life experiences alone would have given him tenureship

Gd rest his tormented soul.
Society is not at fault for letting this poseur get away with his shenanigans.
Maybe Society was wrong to suspend its usual academic nastiness.. try the publishing world and you will see the nastiness of society
Jason alone was at fault. He spun yarns, bs, that was believed.
Jason promoted those fantasies and took extreme liberties with the truth
Jason, took advantage of a system which let him do so, and rewarded him
His ‘suicide’ is strictly his own doing .. no one forced him to lie.
It’s like blaming a parent for a child’s criminal career because the parent was overly lenient, and didn’t whack the child when the child started stealing.

Jason Arday was the Milli Vanilli of the academic world.
Arday’s accomplishments were as real as his long flowing hair. He knew that. He could have that long, fake hair braided and styled into any number of interesting ways. But none of that styling made his hair any more real. It looked good – but it was still fake. That fake hair didn’t grow out of his head anymore than his PhD dissertation grew out of his mind. He snipped long stands of the writings of others and attached them to himself.
When Arday’s ridiculous personal history and his fraudulent “accomplishments” were faced with hard evidence to the contrary he first tried to call upon the magic incantation of “Racism”. An incantation that had made his ascent possible. But it quit working. It was then that Arday decided to erase his biggest mistake – the fake self he had created.
He chose to die rather than face reality.
somehistory says
I haven’t seen any reports that he committed suicide…or as some write *self-murder.* Maybe he died from the fauci mandated vax
Whatever the case, if he did commit suicide, then it’s no more of the fault of others than the teenager who was found dead in the River Tau and the authorities have determined that others are *not at fault*.

Hugh observed: “They were prepared to sacrifice the woefully unprepared Jason Arday because it made them feel better”.
That’s exactly right. This is an example of the tyranny of expectations. Some people just can’t accept and appreciate others for what they are, but demand that they live up to certain unattainable standards. Underneath their alleged wokeness is a kind of tyranny that wants to shoehorn everyone into the same mold despite their abilities or background so that they can become accepted and acceptable.
It would be as if we lived in a society that highly valued athletic prowess and would therefore berate anyone who suggested that the genetically uncoordinated were just as athletic as everyone else, so we should just ignore their shortcomings, and if you didn’t want to participate in the charade then your were a bigot. That would be unfair and selfish.
Billy Joel had it right when he sang: “I love you just the way you are.”

There is a country song with the line, “I want someone to love me just for what I am….just for what they see, just for being me….”

No loss unless instructive how not to live one’s life.
Instructive too is how easily others can be snookered, especially if they have many degrees attached to their resume and which thus demonstrates that one of the most destructive anythings in our time is college education in a Western nation.

He took his own life so that is on him. What no one is talking about is the people who cast him as a well educated professor. I suppose that within their fraudulent academic bubble that would be their problem but the minute they decided to charge students to attend his classes it turned in to defrauding unsuspecting students.
