Rabat – Irregular migrant arrivals in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta have surged by 191.1% this year, compared with the same period in 2025, according to the Spanish Interior Ministry’s latest data.
Spain’s Interior Ministry issued the latest data on Monday, with reports indicating that the number does not yet include the mass entry of migrants from July 30-31.
The data cited by Europa Press said that a total of 5,013 migrants entered the enclave irregularly by land between January 1 and August 15 – excluding the period of mass entries.
The number is 3,291 more than during the same period in 2025, when 1,722 arrivals were recorded. The figure represents an increase of 191.1%.
Spain is experiencing sharp criticism targeting Pedro Sanchez’s government – especially following the July 30 Ceuta crossings.
