Parents of Murdered Teen Demand That Firewall Against AfD Be Lifted

Marius Dick was a young man stabbed to death by an Afghan migrant in Germany. The only political party that has pushed for limiting the Muslim presence in the country is the Alternative für Deutschland that, according to its leader Alice Weidel, wants “restrictive naturalization laws, stricter deportation rules, tightening of asylum law.” That’s what the German Police Union has so far vainly demanded from Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Now the parents of Marius Dick, formerly supporters of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union), are demanding that the other parties, including the CDU, should stop trying to outlaw the AfD. The parents of a 22-year-old student murdered in Trier have called for Germany’s political “firewall” against the Alternative for Germany (AfD) to be dismantled, arguing that politicians must be prepared to work with the party to secure majorities for tougher immigration policies.

Marius Dick was stabbed to death at around 10 a.m. on July 15 while returning from shopping on Robert-Schumann-Allee. According to the reported account, Afghan asylum seeker Sajad M., also 22, emerged from behind a hedge and stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife, piercing his heart.

The two men did not know each other. The suspect had reportedly been declared mentally ill by a public health officer, despite previously being regarded as well-integrated and described as a pleasant neighbor and colleague.

Yes, of course, the authorities insisted that he killed an Infidel only because he was, like so many Muslim killers in Europe, deemed to be “mentally ill” even though he had, right up to the killing, never shown any signs of it. We are expected to believe that the Qur’anic injunctions that call for violence against the Infidels, had nothing to do with it.

Three weeks after their son’s death, Thomas and Elke Dick told Welt that Germany’s established parties must abandon their refusal to cooperate with the AfD.

“You have to seek majorities to find majorities. That also means sitting down with the AfD and talking about common ground,” they said.

The couple warned that dangerous migrants and refugees were moving around Germany without authorities knowing where they were and demanded that politicians “finally” act to stop the continuing series of violent attacks.

They said the violence had continued even after Marius’s killing, pointing to the subsequent attack on Christopher Street Day in Berlin.

The intervention is particularly significant because both parents are CDU members. The party leadership continues to reject parliamentary cooperation with the AfD under the longstanding political firewall. After the last federal election, the AfD became the second-largest party in the Bundestag, but because of the firewall, was unable to agree a coalition government with the center-right CDU, paving the way for yet another Grand Coalition between the CDU and the Social Democrats (SPD).

All the other political parties have agreed not to enter into any coalition with the AfD. They wish to make it impossible for the AfD to be part of any national government and, ideally, are hoping to have the AfD banned altogether, even though it is now the most popular party in Germany.

The parents of Marius Dick are no longer supporters of the center-right CDU party, which has refused to cooperate with the AfD and tried at every step of the way to prevent the AfD from fielding candidates, even attempting — so far unsuccessfully — to ban the party outright.

The Dicks said they had lost confidence in the governing parties’ willingness and ability to halt illegal immigration and migrant violence. They also questioned whether their own party genuinely intended to act, saying cooperation with the AfD was now necessary rather than a matter of political sympathy.

The parents of Marius Dick have been mugged by a murderous reality; they realize that it is only the AfD that stands for ending immigration by Muslims and promoting deportation of Muslims already in the country. Had such a policy been in place, they must undoubtedly think, the Afghan murderer of their son might never have entered Germany and their son would still be alive.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz contacted the family five days after the murder, but the parents said no meaningful political consequences followed.

Their appeal comes as establishment pressure for proceedings against the AfD continues to grow. Earlier this week, the Republican Lawyers’ Association said 1,051 lawyers, judges, and prosecutors had signed a petition urging Germany’s federal institutions to seek a constitutional ban on the party, up from about 500 signatories in mid-July.

This petition is madness. The AfD is the only party that recognizes the menace of continued Muslim immigration. Instead of letting the party make its case before the public, and having its candidates run for office, these lawyers, judges, and prosecutors want to ban the party altogether. Germans would be deprived of the chance to vote for the only party that now calls for limits on Muslim immigration.

The parents of Marius Dick learned the hard way what Muslim migration means for the indigenous Germans. They have now abandoned the CDU and joined the legions of Germans who see the AfD as the indispensable party, the only one that is determined to halt, and even reverse, Muslim immigration to Germany. Let us hope that the outrageous efforts to stop it — such as this petition from 1,051 lawyers, judges, and prosecutors calling for a constitutional ban on the AfD — will fail. And then the AfD will almost certainly be swept into office, in time — just — to stop the demographic conquest from within by those whom the late Oriana Fallaci called “the sons of Allah.”
