Ireland is the latest country to discover that in deciding to boycott goods from Israel, it will have to make do without Israeli advances in a host of advanced technologies. A case in point: the Irish have just found out that their new government jet will have to do without an Israeli technology for planes that is indispensable for safe landing in foggy weather. Ireland’s new government jet, which cost the republic €53m., was purchased without FalconEye, a technology co-developed by Dassault Falcon and Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems, that is essential for the aircraft to land in foggy weather, local media reported on Tuesday.
FalconEye sits on the plane’s nose and helps it to land in foggy weather, or in other weather conditions that limit visibility, Irish outlet The Journal noted.
According to Dassault Falcon’s official website, it is “an advanced combined vision system (CVS) developed by Dassault Aviation in partnership with Elbit Systems. Designed for executive and military jets, it merges enhanced real-world video (EVS) with database-driven synthetic terrain mapping (SVS) to provide pilots with unprecedented situational awareness in zero-visibility conditions like fog, snow, or darkness.”
Dublin’s Defense Department denied the issue, saying the new aircraft has “no current limits” on its operational capability….
This is merely whistling in the dark from Ireland’s Defense Department, peopled by those who have kissed the Blarney Stone.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin, in 2024 when serving as foreign minister, said that Ireland would not purchase equipment that features Israeli-made products, Irish media cited.
Despite this, The Journal found that four helicopters belonging to the IAC were delivered with flight systems co-developed by Elbit and Airbus, as “the craft cannot be built without them.”
Additionally, a maritime patrol craft was delivered with an Israeli-made radar, The Journal added.l added.
Dear me. Well, I suppose that if questioned about this, the Taoiseach would promise “it won’t happen again.”
I wonder if the Irish government has considered what, aside from the FalconEye, it will have to do without if it continues to boycott Israel. Here’s what comes swimmingly to mind:
— IBM has teamed with the Israeli software company Qedma to produce quantum computer results superior to super computers. Will the Irish forego that?
— No more USB flash drives. What will Ireland do?
— Israel is #2 in the world in water saving agriculture (after the U.S.). The Irish will not use those technologies, correct?
— The flexible stent, the pressure bandage, pill endoscopy, and other medical innovations, all were developed in Israel, but the Irish will forego them as well, I suppose?
Perhaps, to help the Irish government with its boycott, the Israelis could compile a list of all the advances they have made so that Dublin can be sure not to make use of them. I was going to wish the Irish leaders, despite their mistreatment of Israel, “May the road rise up to meet you,” but then I bethought myself, and instead whispered under my breath, “Nah, go to hell in a handbasket.”

Very interesting. Canada is also discussing such boycotts. I am not too educated on these topics but this recent decade has woken my ass up. What’s happening here is diabolical with immigration.
I have noticed things I would have never even fathomed. How did we miss it. The Muslim community here you will notice if you watch closely for a month that their vehicles somehow rarely leave the house at work hours. How can they survive ? I do not understand it can’t be welfare alone the numbers do not add up for all those children. The mosques are totally over crowded on the other hand.
What do these people do all day? Do you know you will never ever see a Muslim at a plant? It’s tough work. Other than the halal store where the hell do these people earn to keep up like this? Do you know how expensive these homes are? What the hell is going on in our country?

Recommend that Israel very publicly tell Ireland that Israel will not be shipping any products, technology, etc., to Ireland for the next 10 years – to start.

I’ve never understood the celebration of Irish identity in the US. For instance, St Patrick’s day, when nobody similarly observes St George’s day, although I’d suspect there are far more Americans of English descent than of Irish, starting from the Founders
I think it’s high time that we downgrade the observances of St Patrick’s day every year. Just treat the day as normal, and not go out of our way to wear green, or drink extra beers on that day just for that reason

I don’t understand why the Irish government has become so anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic. The only explanation I can see is the large and rapid immigration increase by Middle Eastern migrants – often jihadists. This is the same thing that has happened in Canada and for the same reason.
Where are these countries going? I don’t know.
