Relatives of those murdered by Muslim terrorists on 9/11/2001 have signed a petition calling on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani not to attend the 25th anniversary ceremony, for they believe his appearance would be “divisive” given his support for Muslim terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon, his refusal to condemn the phrase “globalize the intifada” that calls for the mass murder of Jews worldwide, his refusal to say that Israel has “right to exist” as a Jewish state, and his embrace of Hasan Piker, a notorious antisemite who is also anti-American, having tweeted about 9/11 that “America deserved it.”
Now the largest Catholic civil rights group in the United States — the Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights — has also asked Mamdani to stay away from the 9/11 ceremony, for the same reasons that the families and friends of those murdered on 9/11 gave. More on that demand can be found here: “Largest Catholic Civil Rights Group in US Urges Mamdani to Skip 9/11 Memorial Ceremony,” by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, August 6, 2026:
The nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization has asked New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to skip the ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, arguing that “your presence would clearly be divisive” and citing his absence from the Israel Day on Fifth and Veterans Day parades.
In an open letter, Catholic League President Bill Donohue, who is also a U.S. Air Force veteran, said Mamdani has “set the precedent for not attending” after skipping the 2025 Veterans Day Parade as mayor-elect and the 2026 Israel Day on Fifth parade as mayor. Mamdani instead marked Veterans Day by serving meals to veterans at a supportive-housing residence in the Bronx….
By skipping those two prior ceremonies, Mamdani showed his palpable want of patriotism in failing to show up for the Veterans Day Parade, and his outright contempt for Israel by shunning the 2026 Israel On Fifth parade. Now Donohue is using those no-shows as precedents for keeping Mamdani out of the 9/11 ceremonial event.
Immediately after 9/11, Mamdani has said, his first thoughts were for the safety of his hijab-wearing aunt, who out of fear had stopped riding the subway. In fact, there were a handful of cases of harassment and verbal abuse, but no confirmed cases of anti-Muslim violence, a fact which Mamdani has never acknowledged.
If Mamdani wants to “honor the families” of 9/11 victims, he should do as they have requested. Already, 77,800 of them have signed a petition asking him to stay away from the ceremonial event.
“Globalize the intifada”— a chant that Mamdani refuses to condemn — is a call for the murder not just of Israelis, but of Jews worldwide. Mamdani’s close association with those who praise the terrorists who carried out the October 7, 2023 attacks, describing their atrocities as justified “resistance,” is cause for alarm. So is his failure to condemn his associate Hasan Piker for his remark on Twitch about 9/11, that “America deserved it.” Then there are his many associates, including among others, the pro-Hamas activist Linda Sarsour and the winner of a Democratic primary for New York’s 13th Congressional District, Darializa Avila Chevalier, who routinely accuses Israel of “genocide” and baby-killing.
None of the relatives of the 9/11 victims want Mamdani, with his squalid embrace of antisemites-and-haters of America, his refusal to condemn the chants calling for the mass murder of Jews, his association even with those who justify — “America deserved it” — the 9/11 attacks, to show up at the memorial ceremony. His presence will only disrupt the event, with participants, dismayed and agitated by his presence, turning their backs to him. Mamdani should do the decent thing and stay away, and heed their plea, but when has he ever cared about decency?

Good for the Catholics for showing that they dont appreciate the mayor’s actions.

His going to hell is guaranteed; but first he and his supporters need to be dealt with! Not just in NY but throughout the nation! Every State and city like cleansing after a virus.

Finally a major Christian Catholic organization takes a stand against an anti-Semitic pro-terrorist.. I asm so used to not seeing well known Christian organizations stand back from making a direct criticism of extreme Muslims, this is refreshing.
Could it be that many wonderful Fire Dept personnel who perished on 9/11 had their relatives demand that this Catholic organization stand against Mamdani at the 9/11 ground zero prayer day observances?

The movement of the “Relatives of those murdered by Muslim terrorists on 9/11/2001 have signed a petition calling on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani not to attend the 25th anniversary ceremony,” is very good idea.
For insidious un-American Islamic subversive stealth jihadist Mamdani is a two legged walking and talking affront of adding insult to injury to the surviving family members of the people who had been murdered on Islamic attacks of Islam’s jihad on September 11th. 2001 by the Muslim terrorists of al Qaeda.

Here such Catholics are correct. Eminently so.
Ah, if only we could bring back the Catholic Church as it was before the debacle which was Vatican II. Oh yeah, this is a major wish of mine. Frankly, I don’t to this day think nearly enough Catholics, including many of the best of them, comprehend just how much damage the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) did, not only to the Catholic Church but to all of Western Civilization.
Need proof? Well then, just take a look at the last two Popes, Francis I and Leo XIV. Look as well to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which as a group seems to be OK with mass unchecked immigration to the West. Then there is an organization like Catholic Charities which accepts millions from the American government in order to bring into America those who don’t belong here to begin with and who hate the West. And while we’re at it, let’s not overlook all the Protestant sects which have gone into civilizational suicide mode, like the Anglicans (called Episcopalians here in America for a very late-18th century reason) and many Lutherans and Presbyterians among so many other clueless Protestants.
Conclusion: Good to see some Catholics sensible but the modern Catholic Church is out of whack just as one Western nation after another is, just as the Democratic Party of the USA is, just as many Protestant denominations are, et al.
We live in the silliest age of all because we have come to a point where the best of mankind has provided a myriad of opportunities to the common man as never before and not only the detritus of mankind (e.g., the DSA here in America) are clueless here but so are many traditional bulwarks of Western Civilization such as the Democratic Party of the USA, every major political party in the UK, the overall educational establishment in the West which now indoctrinates rather than educates, and even the single oldest Western institution, i.e., the papacy, which over the centuries has been in the vanguard of advancing the greatest civilization of all time—but no longer.
Damn.

Vatican II might have been okay had it disowned some of the things historically done in its name – the expulsion of Jews from Edward I’s England and Phillip II’s Spain, the Thirty Year war, the persecution of Hugenots, the Spanish Inquisition, and maybe even the forcible spread of its own faith throughout the Americas (no, I don’t buy that every indigenous peoples of the continent practiced human sacrifice like the Aztecs)
But they went from a religion that matched islam in terms of its geopolitical bloodlust to one that wants to atone for all that by committing civilizational suicide. A happy median would have been to have owned and apologized/denounced those past misdeeds, but still held on to their core beliefs, as well as maybe acknowledge that there may be truth in other faiths like Buddhism
Wellington says
Infidel: I don’t agree that the Christian world has “matched Islam in terms of its geopolitical bloodlust.” As just one example, in just one month, November of 2014, Islamic terrorism killed more people than the Spanish Inquisition did in its some 350 year history. And Catholicism has often apologized for its failings, an example being Pope John Paul II very publicly stating that the Church was wrong respecting how it dealt with Galileo.
I also have never asserted that every American Indian people practiced human sacrifice as did the Aztecs. What I have asserted is that all across the Earth, virtually every race and ethnicity, tribe, nationality, etc., including American Indians, did terrible things in different ways. For instance, the way the Sioux in the 18th century pretty much wiped out the Arikara and took over their lands in what is now the Dakotas and western Minnesota.
I do agree with you that the modern Catholic Church is now largely led by suicidal fools. But the Church has acknowledged that other faiths like Buddhism have valid revelation elements but I wish the Church in its Vatican II documents had not stated this about Islam—but it foolishly did.

“the vanguard of advancing the greatest civilization…”
So, the Roman Empire begins to decline.
The Holy Roman Empire begins its ascent.
And Europe enters the ignorance of the Dark Ages and doesn’t revive until about the time of Galileo who is arrested for suggesting that the Earth is not the centre of a circling Sun and the other planets.
In England, where you couldn’t graduate without taking Holy Orders, Newton and others set up the first Royal Society in order to get away from the meddling Church.
From Newton (y-dot) and Leibniz (dy/dx) we get the Calculus, the most important discovery in all of Mathematics and the sine qua non of all of Western Science. The Churches had nothing whatsoever to do with that enterprise.
Why do we give the Churches so much credit when, at the beginning of those new and exciting enquires about the world, they were most feared for their inquisitions and burning witches on bonfires?
This benign notion of the Church is company for that “Judeo-Christian-ethic” meme that keeps popping up whatever the topic – maybe they are the kind conclusions suitable for modern PhD theses at Cambridge but I think we can do better than that.
Wellington says
The Catholic Church and Christianity in general have often been wrong respecting “societal matters” but also correct often times in sustaining an ethic which is overall enlightened. Certainly the Judeo-Christian ethic is superior to the Islamic one. And I would close here by noting what Benjamin Franklin said—and Franklin was a skeptic like me—to wit, that if man is bad with religion, imagine what he’d be without it. Of course, there are exceptions here to this Franklinian rule, Islam being chief among them.

As others have written, good for them. Didn’t he avoid going to a church for a ceremony recently in NYC?
He was booed at the NYPD rally and couldn’t finish his speech. He was not allowed to speak at the funeral of the young sgt who was murdered by iran’s missiles. He should get the idea after so many have said he is unwelcome.
There are probably a lot of things in the mayor’s office which call for attention.
Perhaps his grocery store needs a carry-out, bag boy. Or a cleanup on aisle ten.

If Mamdani attends this, it won’t be a solemn occasion at all. There will be a lot of jeering at him, and his thugs won’t be able to contain it
If he has the slightest sense – which I suspect he doesn’t, he’d avoid it altogether. Maybe visit some Bangladeshi enclave in NYC, practice his Bengali on them there and observe the day that way

“Alleged brick-throwing synagogue vandal was motivated by Mamdani’s Netanyahu attacks: cops”
New York Post
“A Florida man charged with a hate crime for hurling a brick through a synagogue window was motivated by a video of Mayor Zohran Mamdani calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal,” his police interview suggests.
Sarasota resident Brayton Laschinger, 30, admitted he targeted the Chabad House on July 29 and told detectives he became enraged by “propaganda on social media that was making him mad,” the Sarasota Police Department said.
“Laschinger admitted to deliberately throwing the brick at the window of the synagogue because it was a Jewish temple,” Sarasota Police Department Detective Frank Castro wrote in the probable cause affidavit dated July 30.
The only political content found on his public Instagram account was Mamdani’s July 21 video labeling Netanyahu with the “war criminal” moniker.
“Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal, the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people,” New York’s socialist mayor said in a video address that repeats unproven, pro-Hamas talking points.”

The surviving family members of the people who had been murdered by Muslim terrorists on September 11th 2001 are right and justified by having a petition to ban that Muslim mayor Zohan Mamdani from being present at the 25th anniversary memorial events.
For Mamdani is very fond of death –inflection jihad terrorism as observed by his favorable view those murderous affronts committed by the jihadists of Hamas of 10/7/.
Looking at look had his jihad likeminded friend that other Muslim Politician Ilan Omar who was so callous as that say that those 9/11 terrorists attacks happened because “some people did something”
Even worse an imam called those terrorist death attack on 9/11 a “comedy show.”
In addition, on the day of September 9 2016 some man I know who works as a security guard at a public place told me a Muslim actually had the nerve to walk over to him and said to him two Muslim “Jokes” about 9/11. As if it was a funny subject. It’s wrong to even try to “joke” about 9/11. Talk about bad “jokes” those two are the very much worst of all.
The first, was “What is the difference between September 11, 20001 and a cow?” answer “You don’t keep milking a cow after fifteen years.” Not only is that “joke” awful but those Muslims trying to be funny by say that cruel thing do have some gall because they have no room to talk . For they are still are “milking” the topic of the crusades and the crusades have been over for well more than seven hundred years. What gall they have!
The second, “Muslim “joke” about 9/11 is “On September 11, 2001 the people trapped on the upper floors of the WTC had ordered their pizza sent to them two plane.” To say that such “humor” is terrible is an understatement. Furthermore, those Muslim who say those “jokes” are really only exposing their own sick, vicious, callous and heartless Islamic mindset.”
