It’s the same story everywhere. Change the name of the perp and the location of the attack, and the same scenario has played out in numerous countries. Before this is done, if it ever is, it will play out in many more. And that’s because authorities all over the world seem intent on denying what is taking place here, and pretending that what is really happening is something else altogether. The wrong diagnosis leads to the wrong prescription, and only ensures that the problem will just get worse instead of going away.

Malaysia’s The Star reported Tuesday that “two injured people were hospitalised after a man was arrested on suspicion of a random knife attack at a luxury residential estate in Hong Kong’s Southern District on Monday.” A random knife attack. Now where might he have gotten the idea to carry out a random knife attack?

The Star doesn’t offer a single solitary clue, instead saying only that “the knife-wielding suspect” was “a 22-year-old resident at the Baguio Villa” who “wore only sweatpants while leaving his unit at block 47 around 9am.” Then it describes his attack: “Outside block 43, the man, bare-chested and barefoot, charged at a male passerby, who narrowly dodged the attack. The suspect then turned on a security guard and fought until fellow security staff rushed over. Fleeing the clash, the man stabbed a passing foreign domestic helper in the back. Security guards and passersby intervened to restrain the man before police officers arrived and arrested him.”

It was up to citizen journalists on X to provide the salient details: “22 year old Bangladeshi man named Khan stabbed a domestic helper in the neck and back and grazed a security guard with a fruit knife.”

The Islamic State issued this call back in September 2014: “So O muwahhid, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons, and troops of the tawaghit. Strike their police, security, and intelligence members, as well as their treacherous agents. Destroy their beds. Embitter their lives for them and busy them with themselves. If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be….If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him….”

This call for violence clearly refers to Americans and Europeans, but only the naïve and terminally blinkered would think that Hong Kong, and all of China, are exempt. They are infidels as much as the Americans and Europeans are. Yet Hong Kong authorities, just like their counterparts in Europe and North America, appear determined not to have a clue about this abundantly documented and growing threat.

All around the world, countries (and, obviously, Hong Kong) are letting in Muslim migrants without any hesitation, because it would be “racist” and “Islamophobic” even to entertain the possibility that some of them might be Islamic jihadists, or might become Islamic jihadists.

And yet everywhere in the world where there are Muslims, there are Islamic jihadists. Yet no nation seems to be willing to do what is necessary to protect its own citizens, and all of them are determined to put the well-being of the Muslim migrants first. It is a shame that if immigration laws were tightened, some innocent people would be inconvenienced. But isn’t it also a shame that incidents of this kind keep happening?

“When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4), says the Qur’an. Non-Muslim authorities generally neither know nor care that it says that. If they were informed of the fact, they would likely insist that the Bible says a lot of things also that it would be inconvenient for believers to start taking literally. The fact that numerous believers in the Qur’an are obviously taking its calls to violence with absolute literalism even know is of no interest for them. And so there is no uncertainty about it at all: More non-Muslims will be struck in the neck.
