The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) apologized after a backlash, but was it genuinely sorry?
In 2024, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) raised concerns about the links of the MAC with the Muslim Brotherhood. But the MAC had already openly declared this link, before removing this statement from the web:
Two years prior to CRA raising concerns about the MAC’s links to the Muslim Brotherhood, Canada’s National Post published an article: The Liberals are funding hate. How else to describe the speakers at this Toronto convention?
Some quotes from the article:
Homosexuality is filthy, and homosexual acts warrant the death penalty. Christian Arabs who protect Jews from murderers are traitors. A man should be permitted to beat his wife…
Last March, while hundreds of residents of the ultra-orthodox Jewish community of Bnei Brak in northern Israel were mourning the death of Arab-Israeli police officer Amir Khoury, who was killed defending the community from a terrorist attack, MAC’s upcoming featured speaker Muhammad al-Shinqiti took a different view. Khoury, a Christian Arab, was a “traitor,” Shinqiti wrote. “Nothing destroys nations more than treason from within.”
Gail Adelson-Marcovitz, national chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, said MAC’s lineup of speakers is disturbing, owing to several speakers’ habits of proselytizing “misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ+, antisemitic, and often violent beliefs that stand in stark contrast to cherished Canadian values.”..
Human rights activist Kaveh Shahrooz, a former Global Affairs Canada policy adviser and prominent voice in Canada’s Iranian diaspora, agrees. “It is disturbing that the Muslim Association of Canada would host speakers who hold and express such noxious views. The announced speakers have spoken out against women, the LGBT community, and Jews….
So, how sorry might the MAC really be in light of its origins and “esteemed” speakers?

“Muslim Association of Canada apologizes for ‘Jew free’ appearing in word cloud during youth convent,” by Mathilda Heller, Jerusalem Post, August 16, 2026:
The Muslim Association of Canada has apologized for the phrase “Jew free” appearing during an interactive word-cloud exercise at its recent convention.
During the three-day conference in May 2026, MAC carried out “a public, anonymous audience-participation exercise” that produced a word-cloud image, built on responses to the question of what kind of community the participants wanted. Among the 50 entries that appeared in the cloud was the phrase “Jew free.”
This was widely shared, with groups such as HonestReporting condemning it as an act of “normalized Jew hate.”
In a recent statement, MAC announced it has completed an internal investigation into the incident.
It acknowledged that the phrase was “offensive and hurtful to Jewish Canadians” as well as “Muslim Canadians and to anyone committed to a pluralistic society.”
MAC rejects antisemitic word cloud entry, says submitter could not be traced
It added, “Offensive and discriminatory statements of any kind have no place in the Muslim community, and MAC unequivocally states that the submission of this word was unacceptable and does not represent its values.”….

Islam’s Muslims operate with impunity against Non-Muslims from Muslim Schools, Mosques, and Muslim Organizations, and the West should not publicly fund Islam and its Organizations because Islam’s Organizations are against the US Constitution and US Law with Muslim discrimination, segregation, violence, and terrorism as taught in Islamic Law and in Islam’s Qur’an(Qur’an 9:5, 29, 41, 111; 49:15, etc.). Public funding is a privilege that should not be granted to organizations that are against the US Constitution.
Islam is the daily Muslim practice of Islamic Law, and Allah commands Muslims, Terrorists of Allah, to fight Allah’s enemies, the Non-Muslims, to establish Islamic Law, Sharia DBA Islam, using Islam’s genocidal animus against Non-Muslims so that Islam reigns supreme. Allah in Qur’an 9:28-29 commands, “O you who have believed, surely only the polytheists are unclean[dirty]… Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day[Non-Muslims]. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid[via Islamic Law], nor believe in the religion of the truth[Islam] among those who have given the book[Jews and Christians] until they pay the jizyah[Extortion Payment] out of hand and they are subdued[disgraced].” Ultimately, Allah desires to fill hell with Non-Muslims(Qur’an 7:18; 11:119; 32:13; 98:6, etc.).
