A major part of what Jihad Watch covers is the stupidity of the so-called “intellectual class” that has a remarkable ability to ignore the essence, and the threat, of Islam. So it may not be out of place to bring to the attention of Jihad Watch readers the story of Jason Arday, who, at 37, became the youngest black professor in the history of Cambridge University. His CV was a tissue of lies, each more preposterous than the next, but the Cambridge dons who hired him believed everything he claimed — none of which proved true — so mesmerized were they by the fact that appointing him would make Jason Arday the youngest black professor at that hallowed institution.
More on the amazing saga of Jason Arday can be found here: “The Cambridge fantasist is proof that stupid intellectuals are poisoning Britain,” by Allison Pearson, Telegraph, August 4, 2026:
…At least the case of Jason Arday, who, at the age of 37, became the youngest black professor in Cambridge’s history, presents no such difficulty. Arday is, it appears, an Olympic-grade fantasist.
Indeed, the only surprise is Jason has not yet claimed to have won an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics, quite possibly, such are his skills in contortion and backward flips. Despite claims that he is the target of a “smear campaign by Right-wing newspapers”, the plagiarism allegations against him have been extensively and convincingly documented. If he had stuck to ripping off entire passages from the dissertation of a female research student, he might well have got away with it. But Jason, born to immigrant parents on a council estate in south London, diagnosed with autism and who claims he was non-verbal until the age of 11 and couldn’t read or write until he was 18, decided to branch out into what I can only call experimental fiction.
It is easy to imagine the magical-realism novel based on a list of his alleged achievements – you could call the yarn Jason and the Golden Fleeced.
Take, for example, his claim to have run 30 marathons in 35 days, partly with a broken leg, to raise money for “charity”.
Arday claims he had an epileptic seizure on the 20th day, causing a hairline fracture in his fibula. In his forthcoming memoir, Great and Unfortunate Things, soon to be published by a (surely panic-stricken) Simon & Schuster, he describes the fracture causing his leg to swell to twice its normal size. Nonetheless, our plucky hero says he completed his feat of endurance running. There was also the small matter of him running 600 miles in six days and then 300 miles in three days too.
Experts in ultra-distance running have unsurprisingly cast doubt on these claims, pointing out that such achievements would mean Arday ranked among the world’s top athletes.
But why did no one query this before now? What’s wrong with the people who allowed Arday to rise as he did, unchecked by reality? His alleged endurance exploits alone are beyond improbable.
How can Cambridge dons, and other senior academics in universities across the country, supposedly some of the most brilliant minds on the planet, have nodded along as Jason told them even more – perhaps about his supposed appearance on the TV show Seven Up, decades before he was born?
If Prof Arday had told such stories on a building site or a factory floor, the response would have been immediate and brutal: “Come off it, you lying toerag. Pull the other one!”…
After Allison Pearson’s piece appeared in The Telegraph, there were swelling demands for Jason Arday to be investigated. Instead, caught in a web of preposterous lies, Jason Arday did the only sensible thing he’s ever done, and resigned from Cambridge. He is now unemployed, and very likely, given his exposure, unemployable.

This is big story in the UK and the left are still making excuses for this lying crooked Walter Mitty type idiot.
And for the institution who gave him such a position when for years some were explaining what a fraud he was.
The usual politicians raving about him for years also. They now claim the uncovering of this liars shenanigans is down to racism.
A while ago, the police even contacting a journalist who had the nerve to point out some of this deception after Arday made a complaint that.
I would think that lying for financial gain would be a crime in the UK but not of course for this one.
Check out some of the memes on this liar, they are funny.

Walter Mitty just fanatsized about such feats–he did not claim he had achieved them…

You know it’s bad when the Emirates have banned their students from studying in the Ummah Kaliphate, for fear of them returning as jihadists. I wouldn’t be surprised if Saudi Arabia, Bahrein and others followed their lead

I can see this guy seriously finding religion as many do when they’re exposed. Turning a new leaf and all that. Rather like in prisons. I wonder which one it’ll be?

JFK put it this way, to wit, that he had rarely met an intellectual “with both feet on the ground.”
Not very often does history afford an example of an intellectual being an effective leader. One of the few exceptions here is Thomas Jefferson, an intellectual of intellectuals but who really was a pretty damn fine President, examples sustaining this contention being the Louisiana Purchase, which doubled the size of the United States, and taking on the Islamic Barbary pirates whom even Britain appeased but whom Jefferson decidedly did not.
And getting back to JFK, who knew American history quite well (he was a history major at Harvard when Harvard still mattered), shortly after he became President in January of 1961 he invited all living American Nobel Prize recipients to a luncheon at the White House and he opened that luncheon by stating to his distinguished guests, “Gentlemen, such eminence has not dined here since Thomas Jefferson dined alone.”

Would it have been “racist” for Cambridge–and Simon and Schuster–to dare vet any of this claptrap? I suppose they thought so…

Without exception, leftists ruin everything they touch. AT University even the incoming students are crazy. That makes it so much easier for the crazy teachers and administrators.

Is it stupidity or is it using democratic principles against the democratic practice of the Republic? The obvious ill logic of a pseudo-intellectual is also obvious to a classic study of logic and reason! This ol’ boy still remembers how to think and separate b.s. from fact.

The Astonishing Feats of Professor Arday. (Number 94 of 5000)
“After limbering-up by swimming the Channel in both directions every day for a week, I decided that the time was ripe for a crack at the “Big One”. And so, covered in grease and public adulation, I set off for New York – beating the time set by Cunard’s “Queen Mary” by a full three days – and being awarded the “Blue Riband of the Atlantic” by an admiring President John F Rockefeller.
On my triumphant return to Liverpool, a reporter asked how I had managed this astonishing feat of human endurance? “I was sponsored by the shipping-line…” I replied modestly, “…I work for Cunard”
“Well, I work fookin’ hard!” replied the fellow indignantly, “…and nobody gives me a b*stard Blue Riband!”
