Italy’s Meloni Denounces Spanish ‘Regularizing’ of 500,000 Irregular Migrants 

Those half-million migrants in Spain, having now been declared to be legal migrants, are free to travel throughout Schengenland. But not to Italy, for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government is considering suspending that privilege as Spain’s borders collapse.

In addition to changing the status of a half-million migrants, overwhelmingly Muslim, from illegal to legal in one fell, and idiotic, swoop, the Spanish government has just had another migrant crisis on its hand, when 60,000 Moroccans swarmed by sea and by land into Spain’s African enclave of Ceuta. Some of them were filmed entering shops and making off with produce, others were filmed climbing walls of apartment buildings to enter through windows, presumably to steal whatever they can. The local Guardia Civil forces, unable to cope; called for reinforcements from the Spanish mainland. They arrived, and the mere threat of live fire proved to be sufficient, so that those tens of thousands of Moroccans beat a panicky retreat back to Morocco.

Italy’s conservative government is considering extraordinary border controls as Spain’s socialist open-borders experiment erupts into chaos.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that Spain’s border police were overwhelmed as thousands of mostly young men poured into the Spanish enclave from Morocco, forcing businesses to close and local officials to demand troops.

Spain’s border with Africa descended into “absolute chaos” Thursday as thousands of migrants stormed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighboring Morocco.

Videos from Tarajal Beach showed enormous crowds swimming around breakwaters, scaling barriers, breaking through a border gate, and running through the streets. Most appeared to be young men, although women and children were also among the arrivals.

Spain’s national broadcaster TVE reported that between 2,000 and 3,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta within hours.

A Spanish Guardia Civil spokesman said migrants were “massively entering from the sea” after completely overwhelming border authorities.

“The situation is absolute chaos,” Rachid Sbihi, who leads the association representing Guardia Civil officers in Ceuta, said. “There are thousands of migrants crossing.”

Sbihi said the border had “totally collapsed.”

The chaos at Ceuta did not go unnoticed elsewhere in Europe. In particular, Meloni has reacted sharply to the Ceuta invasion.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is threatening to suspend Schengen travel arrangements with Spain after thousands of illegal migrants overwhelmed security forces and poured into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco….

Meloni’s government is reportedly considering temporarily reinstating checks on travelers arriving from Spain. Although officials have described the proposal as “suspending Schengen with Spain,” the practical effect would be the reintroduction of internal border controls rather than the cancellation of visas.

In other words, Italy will not be letting in any migrants, even if now made “legal” by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s fiat, from Spain, as under the Schengen rules it would be obligated to do. Spain’s policy of at once turning half a million illegals into legal migrants, as Sánchez has just done in Spain, will not be accepted by Italy. Meloni has said her country will no longer abide by the Schengenland rules, by which legal migrants in one member state can move without hindrance to all the other states in the Schengen Area.

Meloni has now thrown down the gauntlet: none of those migrants will be allowed into her country. And other countries that are signatories to the Schengen Treaty are likely to follow suit.

And in Ceuta, 60,000 Moroccans managed initially to breach its defenses but after the Guardia Civil, with reinforcements from the Spanish mainland, stood their ground against those who had stormed the enclave, those invaders quickly returned to Morocco. This showed, yet again, that in conditions of chaos resulting from the Muslim invasion of Europe, the surest solution is a resolute display of force.
