Three defendants involved in a music performance at the Emarat Rooberoo cultural center in Tehran have been sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison.
According to statements released by defense attorneys in the case, public relations manager and event organizer Ghazal Nahani was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Hooman Memar-Panahi to seven years, and female vocalist Hiva Seifizadeh to four years of prison time (habs-e ta’ziri).
Seifizadeh previously stated that her four-year sentence was handed down on charges of “encouraging corruption and prostitution.” The Iranian singer was arrested in March 2025 during a traditional Persian music vocal performance at Emarat Rooberoo.
In March 2025, security forces raided the venue during Seifizadeh’s traditional concert, abruptly halting the performance and detaining Seifizadeh, Memar-Panahi, and Nahani.
According to available information, all charges brought against the trio stem directly from organizing and hosting the musical performance and related activities….
