Here’s a funny thing about my latest book, The Tragedy of Islam: it has an Amazon page, and that page seems to be in full working order. You can find it here.
If, however, you didn’t click on that link I just provided, but instead went to Amazon and tried to find the book yourself, if your experience is anything like mine just now, you will see that the book is impossible to find. Search for it every which way, and it does not come up. Is Amazon trying to suppress access to this book? It sure looks as if it is.
I found this out because I needed the link to the book’s sale page, and as I was already at Amazon, instead of going to my website and clicking on the link there, I typed the book’s title into the search bar. What came up for “The Tragedy of Islam” was Imam Tawhidi’s book from several years ago of the same name and a host of other books with similar names, but my book The Tragedy of Islam was nowhere to be seen. This screenshot only shows the top two results, but the book did not appear on the entire page:
This is not normal. I typed in the names of a few of my other recent books, and they came right up in the searches, either as the first or second result:
So I started to search for The Tragedy of Islam with more information: by the full title, “The Tragedy of Islam: Failure and Excuses,” as well as “The Tragedy of Islam by Robert Spencer,” and even “The Tragedy of Islam: Failure and Excuses by Robert Spencer, Bombardier Books.” Every search turned up another book I had written, or else Tawhidi’s book. None of the searches, not one, turned up the actual book The Tragedy of Islam: Failure and Excuses anywhere on the first page of search results.
Yet the book is offered at Amazon. Apparently, however, you can only get to it by clicking on a link to it you may find somewhere, not by searching at Amazon. This is a new form of censorship I haven’t encountered before. Amazon can say that they are offering the book for sale and that all is well. They’re just hiding it.
Or maybe the whole thing is just some glitch. Maybe. But my work has been censored in all kinds of ways for years. And it looks as if it’s still going on. And it looks as if someone somewhere is very frightened that you will read this book. Get it while you can, either from Amazon (since their link still works if you can get to it) or Barnes and Noble, or from one of the vanishing number of bookstores that still exist. Get it while you can: you know that when the powers are trying to suppress it that it’s over the target.
At Barnes and Noble, by contrast, the book came right up in a search for the title:

I went to Amazon , was very specific in my request to find a specific book by Robert Spencer, “The Tragedy of Islam.” The results were less than satisfactory, the book didn’t come up, most of Robert’s book did but not the specific book I requested. I searched 3 times, same result, ziltch! I plan to email them, tomorrow.

Searching in Google, ironically enough, lists it on Amazon as the second listing, after the Cira International link on YouTube, so that is good. But it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Amazon tweaks their searches to direct or misdirect people.

If I start typing “The Tragedy of Isla” on amazon.com.au, in the search completion box underneath (*before* I complete my search and press enter) I get:
the tragedy of islam
the tragedy of islam failures and excuses
the tragedy of islam robert spencer
the tragedy of islam admissions of a muslim imam
Once I fully finish ‘islam’ and press enter to complete my search, Robert’s book is nowhere in the search results (at least the entire first page).

I typed Robert Spencer “the tragedy of islam” into the regular search bar.
first a copilot description was at the top of the page, giving a synopsis. Below that, the google page link and then the amazon page link came right up; and I clicked on the link and the page at amazon came right up with the info about the book. The link below that, was a kindle version at amazon.
The internet can be like life at times . My daughter can find things that I cannot and she sits in the same room during the same time of the evening
The book is findable.. at least, I found it fairly easily.

Somehistory, the book may be findable to some savvy internet geek, who are few and far between, but not to the ordinary person. I congratulate you for finding it but there is absolutely no way I could possibly find it, and I tried for ages. I managed to find 19 of Roberts other books but didn’t come close to finding “The Tragedy of Islam”

I’m sorry, John, that you could not find it as I did. As I tried to make clear, some times one can easily find a subject while another will not be able to do so.
My daughter finds stuff and will tell me about it, and when I search, I can’t find it.

John, with her second search using “google,” she essentially did what I had done to find it.
The only difference was the entry as I put the author’s name and then the book title.

John, glad that my suggestions helped–not saying they would work for everyone, though–and yes, this is the same as Somehistory’s suggestion.
But it is very disturbing that you cannot find the book directly through Amazon–a lot of people may not try anything else.

I had pre-ordered the book on Barnes & Noble, when it was out, and had completed it, shortly followed by the book on Antisemitism and another old book by Humberto Fontova on Che Guevara. Right now, I’m somewhere at the start of the Antisemitism book – completed the first chapter on pre-Christian antisemitism (of Pharaonic Egypt). After that, I’ll get to Holy Hell, eventually
I had abandoned Amazon years ago due to a combination of reasons – them being majorly woke, their treatment of their workers (due to the completely automated timekeeping systems) and them destroying most of the retail sector in the US, if not the entire West. I know that Barnes & Noble too had its issue, like putting LGBTQ+ books front & center during the Biden years. I do wish there were other ebook platforms, but in the absence of that, Nook is what I use. Incidentally, I’ve stopped buying printed books: too much of a weight to carry, & too much shelf space gathering dust. Just keep it in the Nook app on a tablet, and it’s great: I can even read it at night lying down in dark mode, w/ all the lights off
Wonder what will be Robert’s next book? Will it be on the Iran War, or the Pahlavi promise? Or an update to his book on the presidents to add numbers 46 & 47?

I went to the Amazon site and input ‘”The Tragedy of Islam” Robert Spencer’–and a lot of his other books came up but not this one.
Then I googled ‘”Amazon” + “The Tragedy of Islam” Robert Spencer’ and it came right up. Odd….

Then I finally did find it, But you shouldn’t have to go to such lengths to find a book you’re looking for. There is no way I would have found it without your help.

I will say that Amazon is defiantly suppressing your book, “The Tragedy of Islam”. When I bought it back on Apr 10 I didn’t have any trouble but trying now to search on Amazon I can;t find it. On Apr 10 I may have used a link from you; I don’t remember.

On Amazon, the search bar completed the search for me which means that people are searching for the book. I had the same result as everyone else, the book didn’t show anywhere in the search.

“When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.” Consider the most common/likely cause. Although pro-Islamic censorship is common these days and dastardly, since your other books are listed and easily found, perhaps another reason is a bit more appropriate. Hanlon’s law (more commonly known as Hanlon’s razor) is a mental rule of thumb that states: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity” (or ignorance/mistakes).

Ya, Stewart, but make an exception to the rule with anything related to Islam; hence, when looking for the truth, my first natural inclination is to attribute to malice any events related to Islam. Can’t help it just because of the evil spirit of Islam since its beginning.
If Mohammad plows in to a group of people with his car, my first hypothesis is not that Mohammad probably had a health issue.

I have simply typed the author name in the search box, and Amazon lists all the books written by Robert on the subject of Islam EXCEPT for this title, which is nowhere to be found in the list.
Pretty curious, you would think the newest book would feature on top of the results list, surely ?

Islam, in my opinion, is a justification for wasted, brutal conquest which has demonstrated no respect for human life. It is clothed in pseudo religious terminology as a means of deception which for them is the art of war. This was explained by Winston Churchill more than a hundred years ago.

Yes, after reading your article on PJ Media, I tried to find the book on Amazon, searching a number of different ways, and it absolutely did not come up. I’m sure that with enough publicity, Amazon will “discover” that it was a mere “glitch” and make it searchable.

No doubt the book is being supressed. Amazaon did the same thing for me. No surprises there, Google does the same thing when looking for certain topics. A page full of distracting links whereas Bing takes you to what you were asking.

If you search Amazon by author “Spencer” the book is included with the rest of his books.
If you search Amazon by the book’s name only the link goes to the Tawhidi’s book of the same name.
Amazon has the wrong link to Mr. Spencer’s book!

I did buy this book on Amazon in January of 2026. Tried to locate it again, but Amazon AI kept telling me about other books and that I had already purchased it!
It continued to bypass my question.
Alexa Shopping finally told me…
“Since you purchased it from Amazon in January 2026, it’s possible it was available at that time and has since gone out of stock or been removed.”
I then asked Alexa to help me find Robert Spencer’s book ‘The Tragedy of Islam’
The reply came back as…Good news!

Over 20 years, when I was beginning to look into Islam, I came across Robert Spencer’s Islam unveiled in a library out in the western suburbs of Sydney and it was excellent. The tragedy of islam seems like a strange title. To me, Islam is satanically evil and the only tragedy is that the rotten evil ideology still exists, poisoning the human race. The other tragedy is all the idiots who keep refusing to wake up to how evil islam is.

I’d bought the Kindle version when first released, on Amazon Canada, without a problem. Wanted to buy the hardcover for a friend but no search term brought it up, from “Robert Spencer books” all the way to the full title, subtitle, author name and publisher. I searched up to six Amazon pages. Nothing. Same thing on Amazon US. In the end I found it on Amazon Canada by going through the link in my Kindle copy. This can only be a disgusting and shocking (though not really surprising) deliberate suppression by Amazon. If I could afford it I’d order a hundred copies… Thanks again, Mr. Spencer, for adding yet another brilliant tome to your magnificent oeuvre.
