Irony is dead or being held hostage in an Iranian prison.
There’s an old joke about a son who murders his parents and asks the judge to be lenient because he’s an orphan.
Maryam Tahmasebi, the daughter-in-law of Masoumeh Ebtekar, an Iranian government official and hostage taker nicknamed ‘Screaming Mary’ who served as the spokesman for the hostage takers, had an op-ed published in The Nation (I don’t recall the American hostages being allowed to publish op-eds in the Tehran Times) titled…
“One Woman’s Message From the Hell of ICE Detention. My husband, son, and I have been locked up for months—despite being permanent residents with no criminal record. It is an unendurable, unending nightmare..”
Truly irony is dead. Or maybe being held hostage in an Iranian prison.
The ‘nightmare’ in which no one is threatening to kill them, the way Americans were in the custody of her mother-in-law, would end if she and her family would just go back home.
Here’s her mother-in-law threatening to kill American hostages.
But it’s important to remember that whether it’s 9/11 or Oct 7, the only thing Islamist propaganda has is moral inversion, turning its perpetrators into victims, and the actual victims into perpetrators.
Only in the third paragraph is there a cursory mention of why she’s even there, “the government had decided to punish my husband for being the son of a woman who was a translator for the Iranian hostage takers in 1979.” Or, more accurately, a hostage taker in a terrorist organization that is now ruling Iran and a government official in an enemy government at war with the United States.
“We don’t have any criminal record—not even a traffic ticket,” Tahmasebi complains. As if that’s the issue.
What exactly does this ‘unendurable nightmare’ consist of? Well nothing since the daughter-in-law of the hostage taker only says that, “we were shipped to Texas overnight from Los Angeles in horrible conditions that I won’t elaborate on in this letter. ”
Really horrible unendurable conditions… that she won’t elaborate on. But ones that still allow you to write magazine articles.
Tahmasebi, from a regime family, complains about being “an independent woman wading through the waters of sexism and patriarchy every day”. Iran, where women are beaten and killed for not wearing hijabs, is fortunately free of sexism and patriarchy.
Her mother-in-law was an advisor to the head of the Bureau of Women’s Affairs in Iran who supported honor killings of women.

The Islamists are more capable of turning reality on its head than were the Soviets. (Side note: communists are gravely mistaken that they will be able to be on equal footing with Islamists when in power.) Another excellent article from Daniel Greenfield exposing the double-talk that spews from the mouth of the deceitful.

Ship them home to iran. She can complain from there….about *life* there
so tired of the lying hogwash, the complaining and whining from people who would gladly slice my throat.

Yes, S. H. They hate Americans yet fight, bribe, and cheat to stay in the Great Satan instead of going back home where Islam rules. Methinks they only like the idea of Islamic rule, much like the socialists love the idea of communism, yet both are flops in practice. In their minds there is a perfect form and they will create it, (just like the previous failures).

what you say reflects illusion and delusion! Islam should be outlawed!
