Dortmund (North Rhine-Westphalia) – Alexander Z. (49) once stood in a trench in Ukraine, dressed in combat gear. Clutching an assault rifle, he defended his homeland against Putin’s invading army. Yet he did not meet his death on the battlefield: it was his own son (15) who allegedly plunged a knife into the soldier’s chest after the family had moved to Dortmund, striking while his father lay on the couch.
Two stab wounds struck the soldier, piercing his lung and heart. Emergency responders fought in vain to save the father’s life. Alexander Z. died, covered in blood, on the couch. His son Kevin, who had called emergency services himself, was arrested at the scene.
Neighbors describe him as kind and polite. BILD learned from investigative sources that the teenager had converted to Islam a year prior to the crime.
According to information obtained by BILD, the homicide squad suspects that the youth may have become radicalized. It remains unclear whether this constitutes a motive for the alleged murder of his own father. Friends of the teenager told *BILD* that Kevin owned a Quran and prayed daily on a rug in his bedroom. He reportedly also visited a mosque regularly.
Investigating the scene at the high-rise in Dortmund’s Hörde district, where the family lived a reclusive life: accounts from neighbors suggest another possible motive. Arguments reportedly broke out in the apartment repeatedly. One neighbor claims there were even instances of domestic violence.
A 15-year-old allegedly stabbed his father and is now in pre-trial detention.
Another neighbor recalls the day of the brutal act: she heard Alexander Z.’s screams. “Then it suddenly went quiet,” the resident said.
Did Kevin Z. lash out at his father because of yet another family argument? Or did the teenager drift into Islamist circles and turn to a knife as a result? Police are now investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crime.
Ali Mojab (36) has taken on the teenager’s defense. The experienced lawyer told *BILD*: “To provide a definitive assessment, the exact circumstances of the crime must first be clarified. We also need to examine whether a ‘voluntary withdrawal’ [from the crime]—which could exempt him from punishment—might apply given that emergency services were called.”

All that forbidding will cause many arguments. People will tolerate expounding on the virtues of Allah but when told what they can and cannot do because a desert dweller heard a voice in a cave, people not under that spell will think thee a bit crazed – as the murdered father likely expressed to the crazed son.
