Abdulrahman El-Sayed has been campaigning on several occasions during the last few months with his comrade in arms Hasan Piker. Apparently the antisemitic rants Piker has become known for did not put off El-Sayed at all — and why should he be put off, given that his own views are so similar? Piker recently said that Jews who support Israel, a “genocidal state,” have only themselves to blame if they are on the receiving end of antisemitic violence. Piker has also said that “Americans deserved 9/11.” Many Democrats denounced those remarks. El-Sayed was not one of them.
About Piker’s first remark — that Jews are the authors of their own misfortune, for those who support Israel deserve to be hated, and to become the object of attack — El-Sayed has not denounced the remark, or he who made it. And as for Piker’s “Americans deserved 9/11,” El-Sayed did not say it was an “intolerable” remark, beyond the pale, disgusting. No, all he said was this: “It was dumb.”

What did El-Sayed say when he was asked to condemn Hasan Piker’s remark about Jews causing antisemitism? Without mentioning Piker by name, he said only this: “nobody speaks for this campaign besides me and my campaign spokespeople.”
That’s not denunciation. That’s not even criticism. And besides, after months of campaigning with Hasan Piker often at his side, shouldn’t Piker be considered, albeit unofficially, one of those “campaign spokespeople”?
“When the head of a major left-leaning DC think tank regularly gets in fights with the Dem base and progressive influencers on social media, almost in an irrational and uncontrollable way, does that ultimately hurt the think tank?” left-wing Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) said, an apparent reference to Center for American Progress CEO Neera Tanden, a vocal Piker critic on social media.
Put that name in your list of political undesirables: Mark Pocan. There was nothing “irrational” or “uncontrollable” in Neera Tanden’s calling on Democrats to distance themselves from the hatemongering Hasan Piker. He deserved every bit of her stinging criticism.
We are all still waiting for Abdulrahman El-Sayed to declare that he is ashamed of ever having campaigned with Hasan Piker, that he wants to have nothing more to do with him, both for his intolerable remarks about Jews as the source of their own misfortune and for his previous monstrous claim that “Americans deserved 9/11.”
He won’t do either. And that is why, of all the candidates running for office this November, the one who most needs to have his resistible rise stopped once and forever, is Abdulrahman El-Sayed.

How exactly does it make a difference? Who, seeing Abdul el-Sayed’s name the way I typed it here, wouldn’t know that he’s muslim? What about his full name would suggest that he is a jihadist?
If was different w/ Barack Hussein Obama. When one dropped the middle name, it was somewhat ambiguous: he could be anything, and in fact was. It was only when one added his middle name that questions arose about whether he was muslim, when and under what circumstances did he stop being one and so on. I actually agree w/ Robert that his policies as president were no different from what they would have been had he actually been Muslim
But w/ Abdul el-Sayed, I’d think most people, seeing any of those names – Abdul or el-Sayed – would guess that he’s muslim. I doubt that there are Copts who go by that name

WE take the name of our choice. A game was played with my birth certificate so that sooner or later my adoption would be exposed to me. EVERYBODY knew except me until the worst possible time in my life. When I learned the truth, I corrected the birth certificate to give honor to all involved. This man chooses to be known by a name reflecting all that is evil in Islam. Believe him. For once he is admitting the truth, which is rare in Islamic teaching.
