$300,000 in one month.
Seven months after Mamdani took office, donations continue to pour into his campaign with nearly $300,000 in political donations showing up in just the last month even though the controversial radical politician’s next mayoral campaign would be in the 2029 cycle.
A massive flurry of political donations to a politician for a race this many years away is unusual.
A close examination of the donations by Freedom Center Investigates found some unusual patterns. Of the top ‘maxed out’ donations, a majority came from Muslims and a majority of those Muslim donors did not list an employer or occupation: another potential red flag. Two Muslim men with the same name, but different addresses, donated to Mamdani one day apart.
Muslims are a tiny minority in New York City and local Muslims were a minority among the current wave of top Mamdani donors showing that his political power was fueled by Muslim money and support from outside the city in ways that have been made difficult to track.
Of 5 of Mamdani’s top 2029 ‘maxed out’ Muslim donors, only one listed his occupation, and the other 4 all donated within two days of each other. Those 4 were all from outside New York.
This is another red flag.
Leaving out ‘employer’ and ‘occupation’ data, which should be filled in, makes it difficult to track the origin of the donation, the legal status of the donor and the potential influence of foreign money.
One of the Mamdani ‘maxed out’ donors who has no occupation or employment listed appears to actually be with a global finance firm with an office in the United Arab Emirates that connects Muslim money in the Middle East with investment opportunities around the world.
Why was this not disclosed?
With 61% of donations coming from out-of-city donors, Mamdani had rejected participating in the public matching funds campaign program. Apart from the size of his donations and the fact that most of them are coming from outside New York City, participating in public matching funds would create added scrutiny for his donors which could lead to legal issues for his campaign.
Due to the Democratic Party’s gutting of the Federal Election Campaign Act, New York City allows donations from non-citizens as long as they have legal status, but the NYC Campaign Finance Board hints that plausible deniability is fine, stating only that “campaigns must not accept contributions from contributors that they know are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents; nor should they knowingly facilitate contributions from any other prohibited sources.”
In other words, it’s only a problem if the Mamdani campaign officially ‘knows’, and it’s not a problem if it chooses not to know by not creating opportunities that would lead to donor scrutiny.
Nearly 70% of Mamdani’s out-of-city donors who sent him $1000 or more are Muslim. (Michael Moore, who sent only $900, did not make the cut.) This tracks with Mamdani’s New Yorkers for Lower Costs PAC during his mayoral campaign where the majority of the top donations, including 2 out of 3 donations of $250,000 or more came from Muslims, and 9 out of 11 donations of over $50,000 came from Muslims.
Besides Michael Moore, some of the more prominent Mamdani non-Muslim 2029 donors include Gayatri Chakrav Spivak, a “practical Marxist-feminist-deconstructionist” who teaches one of Columbia University’s Marx classes, was a close friend of Edward Said, and has falsely accused Israel of ‘genocide’, Marial Iglesias Utset, the wife of Henry Louis Gates and a Cuban historian, and Elizabeth Peyton, a modernist artist.
Many of the smaller non-Muslim donors were associated with Columbia University, an epicenter of the pro-Hamas riots, including German translator Susan Bernofsky who had defended the antisemitic Columbia rioters, and Swiss environmentalist Joerg M. Schaefer. Numerous other donors were linked to the New York City Department of Education and other government offices.
But Muslims remained disproportionately represented among Mamdani Class donors, especially the top donors, with around $5,000 coming in from donors named Mohamed, another $5,000 from men named Ahmed, and around $6,000 coming in from men and women with Ali in their names.
What triggered the sudden surge of donations to a potential candidate who had just been in office for a little over half a year and whose next mayoral election is many years away?
The bulk of the donations were concentrated in late June and early July, reflecting Mamdani’s successful ability to primary New York Democrats with radical extremist candidates, including Dariazila Avila Chevalier, a Muslim convert who bragged about Communism and wiping her hands on the American flag, and attended a rally celebrating the Oct 7 Hamas atrocities.
The idea that this money is being donated to the Mamdani 2029 campaign is an obvious fiction: it’s being used to fund a current political operation.
One of the underreported Mamdani scandals was his abuse of government offices for political organizing and campaigning on behalf of his allies. Mamdani named Tascha Van Auken, the DSA head of his campaign volunteer operation, to head a new Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement (OME) that he created. Mamdani took his campaign and made it a mayoral office, as Politico described it, “a canvassing playbook honed by the Democratic Socialists of America, perfected by 140,000 loyal foot soldiers and now underwritten by taxpayers”.
“To all the seasoned canvassers who have been with us from day one, the work is far from over,” Mamdani had promised. While taxpayer-funded campaign work is technically illegal, keeping a team of his top organizers and canvassers employed in-house keeps the organization intact and available for use on campaign work including for other DSA-backed candidates.
The Mamdani permanent campaign operation will have two faces, with taxpayers funding a DSA campaign arm operating inside the New York City government, while Mamdani builds a war chest that can be used to run a campaign operation on short notice with activists already on the government payroll. This campaign operation can be used to indirectly boost allied candidates and it can allow Mamdani to transition to a campaign for a different political office before 2029.
That includes a potential senate run in 2028.
Over $300,000 is a significant amount of money especially for a hypothetical 2029 campaign, but Mamdani is operating a non-stop campaign and not all of it can be paid for by taxpayers $300,000 is nothing compared to the $53 million estimated taxpayer funding for the Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement that serves as Mamdani’s campaign arm inside the government.
And it indicates that the Mamdani campaign is an ongoing operation which is being funded in a variety of different ways that raise serious ethical and legal questions yet to be addressed.

Those two Omar donors, Ahmed Abdullahi Ghedi and Abdihakim Ali Ahmed, later pled guilty to wire fraud and money laundering in the largest pandemic-era scheme in U.S. history, known as Feeding Our Future, an organization that sponsored dozens of purported food distributors across Minnesota, many of them shell companies created by Somali immigrants, that fraudulently billed a federal child nutrition program for the cost of meals never actually served.
Ghedi and Amed, alongside other co-conspirators, operated a fake meal-delivery site out of a Somali deli under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future. Together, they stole $7.2 million in child nutrition money meant to feed underprivileged children based on bogus reimbursement claims submitted between September 2020 and September 2021.
During that time, Ghedi and Amed donated $2,700 each to Omar’s reelection campaign in February and March 2021, respectively. Omar then passed along their payments in 2022 to Sabathani and two other minority-owned food shelves after Ghedi and Amed were named as suspects in the Feeding Our Future fraud ring.
“She did donate the money, but she had taken their money when they were actively involved in the scheme,” Minnesota state Rep. Kristin Robbins said in an interview with the Washington Examiner, adding, “as did [Minnesota Attorney General] Keith Ellison.”
Robbins, the Republican chairwoman of the state’s House fraud prevention and oversight committee, has spearheaded an investigation into Omar’s involvement in the Feeding Our Future scandal.
Omar introduced the bill, the Maintaining Essential Access to Lunch for Students Act, that drastically relaxed eligibility requirements for food distributors to be able to receive reimbursements during the COVID-19 school shutdowns. By granting waivers that allowed nonschool-based caterers to claim compensation, Omar’s MEALS Act is believed to have incentivized the Feeding Our Future fraud network to enroll phantom entities as food distribution sites in the after-school meal delivery program. Many of the Somali suspects implicated in the scheme were constituents in Omar’s congressional district.

Personally, I’d like to see a new ‘Crusade’ start up and deal with islam. If you really want to win, you must make those that follow islam to fear you and what you ‘will’ do to them. Negotiations do not work with muslims. You have to make them fear you. If they attack, you must retaliate immediately with overwhelming force and violence, showing zero mercy. Then never to interfere in the affairs of Islam. Just keep good cordial relations with them from a distance and never letting near your country and never going to theirs. The money should be frozen until a clean paper trail can be demonstrated/ “Innocent till proved guilty” was intended to protect people from unjust treatment, not to ring-fence questionable funding. When there is a suspicion of money laundering, the funds should be viewed as guilty till proved innocent, and the beneficiaries should be allowed access to only enough money for daily living expenses.
