Iran has threatened to seize Tehran’s historic St. Peter Evangelical Church and evict the 20 families who call the temple their home, according to multiple reports.
The move against the church, which has already had part of its property taken by the regime, appears to be in direct retaliation over the war with the US and Israel, said Sasan Tavassoli, an Iranian Presbyterian pastor in the US with direct contacts at St. Peter.

SInk a few of their super tankers and capture Kharg Island and you will hear a very different tone as in “Please sir, we need to have a ceasefire immediately and ask what can we do to achieve that?”

You overestimate the islamic republican military capabilities. The Air Force which could be completely obliterated by Israel in 2024, and the navy by US in 2026 is not much capable of protecting anything. Kharg too could easily have fallen, and then the islamic Republic’s oil would be – like Venezuela – entirely under our control
That said, I do disagree w/ Rick when he says that seizing those things will change their policy on Christians. Persecution of non-muslims, particularly non-shi’a muslims is in their DNA and will continue as long as the regime lasts. What has surprised me is the regime still having the people who can make that a priority, when it looks like it could be pulled down any day now

I now believe that Trump received credible threats against his extended family, and the Secret Service cannot guarantee their safety. If I were Trump, I would order around the clock protection for all those near and dear to him, and I would order the US military to systematically dismantle, Iran over the next month until the IRGC and all of the mullahs are no more.
I would even ask Netanyahu to enlist the Mossad to find out who gave the assassination order and eliminate them and everyone in their circles.

That was news to me too, GE. I would never have guessed. Although there was a story some time back….before the latest “war” to get the mullahs out….that a church was mentioned as still being there and that the Christians were afraid of just such as is being threatened currently.
I thought it would have been ashes by now.

Recently, I read that some clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church – which is now the de-facto official church of the Kremlin – had an interfaith meeting w/ the Iranians – probably before the war. So that may be the only Christian denomination tolerated by the islamic regime
