The inhabitants of Piddington, a small village in Oxfordshire, were dismayed to learn that the government had decided to place a thousand migrants, overwhelmingly Muslim and many of them illegal, in a former defense storage facility just on the edge of town. The nearest shop is three miles away and there are no amenities beyond some swings and a playing field.
Yet, apart from a pop-up traveller site, the 350 residents of the Oxfordshire village of Piddington seem pretty happy about life.
Or at least they were until they woke up three weeks ago to be told that the population will shortly be quadrupling.
The Home Office suddenly announced it was preparing to house 1,250 asylum seekers on the old Ministry of Defence storage facility on the edge of the village. A week later, a Home Office ‘factsheet’ revealed that these will all be ‘single adult males’. Oh, and they will be able to come and go, day and night, on a ‘sign in/sign out’ basis.
So what sort of consultation preceded the announcement? None at all.
If this sounds like an increasingly familiar story of everyday life in rural Britain, what has happened next is not.
Instead of the usual community response – noisy but futile protests and petitions – Piddington has gone down a different route.
It has just voted overwhelmingly for a referendum to seek independence from the United Kingdom.
As the leader of this Piddington separatist movement points out, past experience elsewhere shows that there is no way that the Government will let a few pesky villagers block the reallocation of Government-owned property.
However, since the state is happy to acknowledge the rights of undocumented strangers to insist on coming here, then it presumably has to acknowledge the rights of fully documented, taxpaying residents to insist on leaving. There is even talk of becoming a very small 51st state of the USA – or else a principality….
This referendum by villagers on a possible declaration of independence smacks of British comedies of the 1950s, such as The Mouse That Roared and Tight Little Island. But the villagers are not laughing. Reports of the residents’ referendum in Piddington have had the desired effect — that is, they have shown a spotlight on the Home Office’s peremptory placement of migrants in small villages without the consent of the villagers.
Mr Terzino says he is so worried about the safety of his 18-year-old daughter that the family are thinking of renting a flat for her elsewhere….
His fears are justified. Where large numbers of Muslim migrants males have been placed in rural villages, the number of crimes, including sexual assault, has skyrocketed. Why would Piddington be any different?
Are there no disused Ministry of Defence properties placed far from inhabited areas where these migrants might be housed? Is the wellbeing of villagers to be sacrificed to Home Office incompetence in finding alternatives? The Home Office, in attempting to save money — the extravagant sums spent to put migrants up in hotels — by instead placing large numbers of Muslim migrants, all of them males, in small villages like Piddington, fills those communities with justified dread. Villagers fear a spike in crime, and especially of sexual assault of local girls. There are enough uninhabited places, including islands in the North Sea, where these migrants might be held, until their claims to asylum — almost all of them specious — can be swiftly adjudicated, and a great many of them deported. Why not try that?

The people in these rural villages have every reason to be angry and afraid. They are certainly smarter than their leaders.

One can just imagine the changes in store for the residents of this small village. Their world is coming apart. The tranquil, idyllic life that they’ve always known is effectively over. The safety of their women and children is suddenly in jeopardy.
This tragedy is a microcosm of the fate of an entire Continent.
I sometimes watch the Youtube videos of Kurt Katz. He’s a young South African man who visits countries and cities all over the world and deliberately goes into the most dangerous neighborhoods, eating the local food at whatever hole-in-the-wall he comes across and interacting with the local residents, filming all the while. He speaks multiple languages and his experiences are sometimes fascinating.
He visits the most gang-infested, crime-ridden neighborhoods in Latin America…..and yet, he never brings a body guard….EXCEPT when he’s visiting England/Continental Europe. It’s there that he’s constantly confronted with sometimes violent detractors….most of whom don’t have a clue who he is, but who object to one thing: The fact that he’s filming with his phone. Muslim immigrants in Europe seem to passionately object to being filmed by anybody. It’s very, very strange. You might think it’s just the men who might be in gangs, dealing drugs, etc.,….but on many occasions, it’s Muslim women too. One gets the impression they just don’t want the world – including the populations of the countries they inhabit – to know what these neighborhoods look like….the extent of Muslim dominance.
Kurt was filming in downtown Frankfurt recently. There was nary a German to be seen. Everyone was Muslim. He was accosted repeatedly by those objecting to his filming. One women threw a glass bottle that barely missed his head. Things are far worse than anyone imagines.

Fuel for thought: This place chose to do something yet here in the USA there is a movement that has been going on for a while and that is this: Islam is buying up churches and convert them into a mosque.
What a way for Islam to conquer from the inside that to purchase churches of Christian worship to delete it from our history.
The culprit in this ongoing issue is the Catholic Church, a church built in 1886 in Buffalo New York was sold to Islam for a mere $250K. The Catholic Church by selling the churches is slowly condemning itself to Islam, was it not the last Pope that invited Islam into Vatican City.
Other churches of other faiths are doing the same, shame on all of them.

I like the 51st state bit. They are right to worry. I imagine you reported on our (Germany) first New Years after Merkel gov’t. welcomed 1.3 million guests with open arms, as many sang Kumbaya and “Wir Shafen Das!” anthems, dozens ran into city several city centers Marktplatz and held arms in concentric, unpenitrable circles while they gang-raped. I was waiting for the uprising then! No, but the propaganda had worked its magic by that time. The excuses pervaded: they are war traumatized, it’s climate change–that’s a good one.
