The situation in Gaza is desperate. Today the UK is announcing £23m for @UNRWA to deliver vital support including food, water, education and medical support for Palestinian refugees.
There must be more aid, all crossings opened, and humanitarian agencies able to operate safely.

The only part of Spencer’s statement that is arguable is whether the British government is anti-Israel. In many instances its actions scream anti-Israel, and in others it appears to be either neutral or pro-Israel. Whether a government is anti or pro Israel (or for that matter anti or pro anything) is always a matter of perspective and degree. In this particularly instance, giving money for Gaza that will ultimately end up in Hamas’s coffers has an obvious anti-Israel effect, But, if the intent was to help Gazan refugees, even if they knew that a substantial part of the money would be diverted to Hamas, then that alone, would not make them anti-Israel. On the other hand, if the intent were to give money to Hamas under the guise of humanitarian charity, then they would be anti-Israel.
One can also look at Britain’s votes In the UN concerning Israel. For the most part, those votes can easily be viewed as Anti-Israel.
I am not at the school where failure to be pro-Israel is termed anti-Israel. I believe that thee can be a neutral ground . But, whether Britain is anti-Israel, is a good topic for a debate team. The answer will depend on how well the debaters can convince the judges that their respective balancing of the factors is correct.
