This is deliberately misleading. Ahmed is trying to give the impression that Sharia is merely private religious law that no one needs to be concerned about. The fact that Sharia is political, supremacist, expansionist and violent is obvious: just look at Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and other Sharia states. But Sabeel Ahmed is trying to stop the growing concern about Sharia in the U.S., and to do that he has chosen to dissemble about what Sharia really is and what it involves. Ask any non-Muslim in a Sharia state what he thinks of Ahmed’s statements, and if he answers honestly, he will make it clear that Sharia is nowhere near as benign as Ahmed implies.

An open house at a Plano mosque drew attention Saturday when a speaker present stated that “Sharia is already here.”
According to The Dallas Express, the meeting took place at the Islamic Association of Collin County and was organized by WhyIslam Dallas in partnership with GainPeace and ICNA Dallas.
The event, entitled “Understanding Islam & Shariah: Myths vs Facts,” provided an opportunity to “learn about Islam, ask questions, and engage in respectful, meaningful conversations,” according to a posting.
The statements made by GainPeace Executive Director Dr. Sabeel Ahmed were in reference to the moral and religious practices already being carried out by Muslims living in the area. “Right now, as you eat your lunch [provided by the event], you are part of the practice of Sharia by Muslims,” said Ahmed.

The poll you are referring to is the Texas Public Opinion Research (TPOR). It claims it is nonpartisan but the organization is directed by former Democratic candidate Luke Warford. Also, other polls have 3 or 4 percent of the vote missing but this poll has 15% unaccounted for.

I know what you mean. I live in Nevada now. We are not a nanny state and we dont put up with free range druggies and homelessness. I came from Orange County California which has always been a tiny conservative Republican island (Reagan Country) surrounded by a sea of large democrat counties. I always avoided those counties whenever I could. HB is still conservative patriot but I began to feel the dem-left encroachment and I didn’t like it. HB is under attack by the democrat state today but they are fighting.
My move was more about not giving the CA democrats any of my money. The state took too much but even a penny was too much for me. OC was not a druggie homeless mecca like other counties in CA. Asians were the problem in OC. After the LA riots they began to trickle in from LA and what did they do, they began to vote democrat. Just like you we let them in and eventually felt violated.
