On June 28, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani gave an interview to Jonathan Karl of ABC, in which he said he could not endorse the state of Israel because, he insisted, it “privileges one religion over another”: “Mamdani: ‘I can’t tell you I support’ Israel as a Jewish state,” by Kelly Hartog, Jerusalem Post, June 29, 2026:
Mamdani said voters made it clear that “they were tired of tens of billions of dollars being spent in our taxpayer dollars to violate international law to kill thousands of civilians.”
Mamdani is clearly referring to American aid to Israel. But Israel does not receive “tens of billions of dollars” from the United States. It now receives 3.8 billion dollars in annual aid, almost all of which — 3.3 billion dollars — is required to be spent on American weapons, especially fighter jets, Nor does the IDF use this weaponry to deliberately “kill thousands of civilians.” The IDF makes tremendous efforts to avoid killing civilians. It drops millions of leaflets, sends millions of text messages, and makes millions of robocalls to warn civilians about sites about to be targeted. Yes, some civilians die, but that is despite, not because of, the IDF’s conduct of the war. West Point professor John Spencer, a student of urban warfare, has noted that “Israel is applying more measures to minimize civilian casualties than any military in history.” Is Mamdani aware of the IDF’s vast campaign of warnings to civilians about places about to be targeted, or of Professor Spencer’s conclusions about how Israel has conducted its war in Gaza?
He added that currently “Palestine is described as if there is a ceasefire,” but more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed during it. He said New Yorkers want to “follow international law, to believe in the humanity for all.”…
Look, Hamas has continued to launch missiles and drones from Gaza into Israel. That is what has led to a partial breakdown of the ceasefire in the Strip. Israel responds to, but does not initiate, exchanges of fire with Hamas. Mamdani wants us to believe that Israel is thereby violating international law. It is not. States have a right to respond to attacks on their civilians. Israel does everything it can to avoid attacks on civilians, while Hamas does everything it can both to hit civilians in Israel and to endanger the lives of the civilians in Gaza.
And when asked about rising antisemitism in New York City, the mayor said that while Jews are a minority of the city’s population, they constitute a majority of victims of the hate crimes committed in the city. ”That’s something that’s unacceptable,” he said.
He didn’t say, because he pretends not to believe, that his drumbeat of criticism of both Israel and of Jews who support the Jewish state has been a major contributor to the steep rise in antisemitic acts in New York City.
Ofir Akunis, Israel’s Consul General in New York, said that “the surge in antisemitism across the United States, and particularly in New York, is the result of ignorance and a lack of knowledge, combined with a fundamental hatred of the Jewish people.”
He added, “I once again warn that Mamdani’s inflammatory rhetoric will end in very serious and violent acts against Jewish and Israeli communities throughout the city.”
When Mamdani first began his run for mayor, he made Israel and its putative sins the centerpiece of his campaign. Since becoming mayor, he continues to return again and again to Israel and its misdeeds. His supporters have been encouraged to wallow in their own hatred of the Jewish state. New York now leads the nation in the number of antisemitic acts. New York accounted for 44 percent of all antisemitic assaults recorded nationally in 2025; 85 of the state’s 90 assaults occurred in New York City. There were a total of 1,160 reported antisemitic acts in 2025, the highest number ever recorded. And this has happened just as Zohran Mamdani burst on New York City’s political stage, hostility to Israel a centerpiece of his campaign. Jonathan Karl might have asked Mamdani if he felt any responsibility, with his incessant anti-Israel rhetoric, for this huge rise in antisemitic acts, and assaults, in the city. I’m fairly sure I know what he’ll answer.

so tired of seeing his nasty/ugly face and reading his name. All of us….even those who voted for him….knew what kind of muzzlie slug he is.
The *news* media should stop giving him air time. The terror supporter (which makes him a terrorist) will sing the same evil song and relish the attention he gets for it.
Remember the elderly man in “12 Angry Men” giving the reason the old man had for making up a story on the witness stand. The muzzie goon of Manhattan has had his 15 and more.

Yeah, by now, I am thoroughly sick of the attention given to him. Rudy used to get it for the right reasons. Comrade Z gets it for all the wrong ones

That mayor of New York City, Zohran,Mamdani, is an evil and dangerous Islamic character. So much so that he doesn’t want the NYPD to respond to Muslim assaults on Jewish citizens of NYC .nor vandalism of synagogues..
That Muslim monster is such sinister that he, no doubt all, wants to encourage, Muslim assault and even murder of the Jewish people of NYC. Many hating Muslims gladly take incentive up and viciously act out with his encouragement of violence against Jewish people. . As it’s been rightly, said that “Evil is always looking for an excuse.”
Earlier, had said that he wants to ” Globalize the jihad” and he also declared that “Israel should not exist.”
What really should not exist is that wicked man ,Mamdani , in the Office of mayor , he should first be expelled from the political office Second , he then should be expelled, forever, from America.

The Jewish people who live in New York City must reality hate themselves and their families if the y had voted for Zohan Mamdani for the office of mayor .

I don’t think so. It’s estimated that only 30% of NYC Jews voted for Mamzerdani. Most of them are committed leftists first and only claim to be Jews for their personal convenience. Most are like Lander in NYC and Weiner in San Francisco. Being Jewish and committed to Jewish ideas, values, and ethics are at the bottom of a list of what they claim to be first.

If Mamzerdani does not recognize Israel as a Jewish state because of “religion,” would it be fair to say, or would he agree the 57 or so Islamic states are not recognized by him either? Does he not support the Islamic Republic of Iran? How about the real apartheid state of Saudi Arabia? Or how about the Arab-occupied states in the Levant and North Africa? I wish someone would ask him, I would love to hear his answer.

Good questions, Bexarkat. Somehow only a Jewish state–a democracy with equal rights for all her citizens–is beyond the pale.

Mamdani is a another true Muslim terrorist for Allah as taught in Islamic Law and in Islam’s Qur’an(Qur’an 9;5, 29, 111; 49:15, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 9:111 says, “Surely Allah has purchased from the believers[Muslims] their souls and their money so that they may have the garden[Heavenly Paradise]. They engage in war for the sake of Allah, so they kill and are killed…”.
Islam is the despicable, daily practice of Islamic Law by Muslims, and Allah rewards his Muslim believers, Genocidal Terrorists of Allah, with a Garden Paradise when they kill and are killed in Jihad for Allah as war against Non-Muslims using MUSLIM MONEY and with MUSLIM LIVES to make Islam, Islamic Law, supreme(Qur’an 9:5, 29, 111; 49:15, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 49:15 teaches, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed JIHAD with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” See also Qur’an 2:191; 4:89, 91; 8:60; 9:5, 29, 111; 47:4; 48:29, etc.
