“My religion has done more damage”
Senate candidate James Talarico has very different ways of talking about Christianity and Islam.
Christians, according to Talarico, are ‘Christofascists’ who are practicing “Christofascism”.
Christianity is far more violent than Islam, according to him, and has caused far more damage to Islam than the other way around.
“Christianity is Season 2, and Islam is Season 3,” he told the New Yorker. “I’m Season 2—the most violent season. My religion has done more damage to both of those religions than they’ve done to each other.”
And, beyond that, all religions are basically the same and Islam is just as true as Christianity. “I always think of all the world’s faith traditions as a circle, with that divine mystery of the universe in the middle. We all have different names for that mystery, whether it’s God or Allah or Nirvana or Great Spirit. Whatever you call it, this is all different pathways to the same fundamental truth.”
The fundamental truth here being that none of the religions are true. Especially Christianity, which Talarico both hides behind and makes a special point of disliking, unlike Islam, which he clearly favors.
In 2021, Talarico posted on Facebook, “Texas has the largest population of Muslims in the country. Today I introduced legislation to add Imams to the list of religious officials who can perform marriage ceremonies in our state. As-salamu alaykum, y’all.”

It’s no coincidence. The Pope sent a signal to all Catholics to praise his religion of Islam and condemn t Christianity. I would have called you crazy ten years ago if you told me there would be Democrat signs here. But they are here. My neighborhood is not from Texas anymore.
I have Syrians, Hindus, many from California, Chicago, NYC, New England. It’s not the same Tgusa. They came for the freedom and low taxes, ease of building homes etc. but they’re all democrats.
You also have independents. But those turn on you as quick as they turn to you. They’re all going back to what they were before, Democrat supporters. They just didn’t like the taxes and crime in their old city. Now that everything is good, they went back to Democrat.

That is sad to hear. A few years ago I was offered a chance to head up an IT department with a subsidiary of the company I work for. It was in Waco.It was a smaller company and it would have lightened my workload significantly. Really, it would have been somewhat of a working vacation for me.At first I accepted but after some thought I changed my mind and declined. I guess it was a good thing I did, or in that case, didn’t.

My county had leaned democrat for awhile but it is changing. Trump won in my city and state in 2024. Trump lost in 2016 and 2020 but I didn’t live there at that time. Of my city’s 92 precincts, 27 voted majority Democrat and 65 voted majority Republican. We have two other cites near us that have three times the population. Those two are about 50 50. In 2022 my state and county went with a republican governor who was the former Sheriff of my county. He will probably win again in 2026.

It has angered because of how we welcomed them, and how nice they were when they first came. But when they got their numbers up, they became more hostile to us. Not speaking for all, but they are much more politically hostile than conservatives are.
It really really bothers me because I feel violated. I should drop my pride and sell and gain my profit and go out into the country to get away. I can’t stand to see the Muslim kids running around on my block, in my country. It bothers me. It bothers me a lot that we are the shunned ones who built the country and who built the state and who built this community, this freedom, this system for them to enjoy, and they don’t want us. We are losing our country and keep retreating. That’s the only reason that held me back from selling when I had an offer with no for sale sign.
I think I have to leave, it is time.

Sorry to hear that Beans. What you wrote sums up why I left where I had been for more than half a century. It would have bothered me more if I wasn’t so pissed about it. I already have a plan if the people here decide to drift back to democrat. When I moved here an objective of mine was that when my house went up 50 percent of what I paid I would move. It is very close to that right now.

All people should not read the Quran, they should read the one book in the Islamic world that explains all 5 books of Islam, that book is called “Reliance of the Traveller: Islamic sacred Law aka sharia law”
