In Sweden, a Jewish physician complained after a colleague made him the object of antisemitic harassment. Then he, not the harasser, was fired. A Jewish physician in Sweden has come forward with allegations that he was subjected to antisemitic harassment by a colleague at a Stockholm health center before his consulting contract was ended — an account the healthcare company disputes — intensifying concern over antisemitism and political activism within the country’s healthcare system.
According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Gregory-Zvi Wirschubsky, a 69-year-old consultant physician at a Meliva health center in Stockholm, said the incident occurred last year. He recounted being confronted by a colleague during a coffee break who asked whether he was Jewish and, after he said yes, accused him of “killing Palestinian children.”
Wirschubsky said he replied that he had no connection to the Israeli military and had lived in Sweden since the age of seven, but that the colleague continued, telling him, “You can go to hell, you f___ing Jew,” before he ended the conversation. He said several coworkers witnessed the exchange but did not intervene.
He reported the incident to his manager, arguing that it amounted to discrimination and noting that staff had previously agreed not to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at work. Management said the matter would be handled internally, he said, but he was later told his consulting assignment had been terminated with no explanation. Because he was placed through a staffing agency rather than employed directly, the health center could end the placement with one month’s notice and was not obliged to give a reason. Wirschubsky said he does not believe his assignment ended because he is Jewish, but rather because of tensions surrounding the war between Israel and Hamas. He said the center’s medical director supported his account and pressed management for answers, receiving only a vague reply that the episode had been exaggerated.
Wirschubsky is wrong. He was discharged precisely because he was Jewish, and only after he made his complaint about a colleague’s antisemitic outburst. The Meliva health center, of course, was not about to admit that that was the reason for his dismissal.
Meliva rejected the allegation of discrimination. The company said it had conducted a thorough investigation and found no evidence that Wirschubsky’s Jewish background influenced its decision, characterizing the episode as “a personal conflict.” It said neither Wirschubsky nor the colleague who allegedly made the remark is still employed by the company, and that “discrimination and antisemitism are incompatible with Meliva’s values.”
Wirschubsky was dismissed from his job with the Meliva health center. His antisemitic colleague was not dismissed, but left voluntarily.
Apparently a public attack on a Jewish colleague as “you f*****g Jew” was not sufficient for the speaker to be reprimanded, much less fired. Nor did any of the other doctors who witnessed this antisemitic outburst say a word about it. It was instead the Jewish doctor who, after he complained about the episode, was fired from his job. Swedish doctors, wearing their medical attire, along with nurses and other medical personnel at Karolinska University Hospital, recently staged a pro-Palestinian demonstration right at the entry to their hospital. This certainly created an unwelcoming environment at the hospital for Jewish doctors and patients alike.
Antisemitism has long been a problem in Swedish hospitals, especially at Karolinska University Hospital. In 2018, Jewish physicians working there reported years of bullying, which included lower salaries, restricted access to patients and research, and being blocked from operating despite superior qualifications. Rather than addressing the harassment, hospital management allegedly retaliated against Jewish whistleblowers and sought to silence them. The allegations resulted in major legal battles and rulings against the hospital. In the best-known case, a Swedish Labor Court ruled in 2022 that Karolinska had illegally fired Dr. Svensson, a Jewish doctor on its staff, for complaining about the antisemitic bullying he experienced, and awarded him damages.
But as we see in this latest case — the antisemitic harassment of Dr. Wirschubsky by a colleague, his complaint about that harassment, and his subsequent dismissal — the Swedish medical establishment has a long way to go in fighting antisemitism in its ranks. Keep up the discrimination and whistleblower lawsuits, Jewish doctors. No appeals to decency will work to make the Karolinska University Hospital, or the Meliva health center, or other medical facilities in Sweden, crack down on antisemitism. But a hit to the wallets of the offending institutions will work wonders.

It is actually much worse, except the Jews usually don’t want trouble in Europe so they’re keeping quiet at work. They know even HR is with the Muslims. Everyone hates Israel in Europe. So it filters down to Jews. Very sad.

Even though I by no means endorse it, I too can understand why antisemitism is making a major entrance on the Right here in America. They see that even now, a majority of Jews still leaning (D), despite that party being taken over by both communists and jihadists, and there even being 20-30% of NY Jews who support Mamdani. It’s hard to expect Gentiles to be even less antisemitic than Jews themselves
But I decouple the two. Looking at American Jews (and Hindus, of which I’m one), I see them leaning Left, despite the fact that the Dems have been captured by the jihadists and spread hatred against both. So I do take a dim view of them as a result. But that attitude doesn’t spill over into Israel, whose Jews are more reality based, living as they are in this thuggish neighborhood. If anything, I support Israel annexing Judea, Samaria, Gaza (if it can somehow expel its entire muslim population) and Lebanon south of the Litani (including Tyre)
So that last is where I diverge from you. If Trump did actually set Vance to turn on American Jews, it would be one thing. But if he decided to turn on Israel and Netanyahu, then Israelis are perfectly justified in turning on him as well. If anything, Netanyahu has gone out of his way to not criticize even Witkoff, let alone Trump, even while he’s said that Israel won’t be bound by the MOU. But I don’t think Trump set Vance on that: Vance likely did that on his own. And my opinion on the VP has plummeted, particularly after his inane statement describing 90 million Iranians as terrorists. This after there had been nationwide demonstrations against the regime, and that some surveys show that at least 60% of Iranians have apostatized from islam
I do think we are seeing a major realignment in politics. What used to be a divide b/w socialists and less government is now morphing into a divide b/w antisemites vs advocates of Judeochristian nationalism. On the MAGA side, I’m perfectly w/ the likes of Vance on things like looking out for forgotten America, the depletion of rural America, excessive interventionism abroad, immigration and a whole boatload of policies. But I do part ways w/ him – and them – when it comes to turning on Israel, although I am happy to see the US turning on Europe and finally, finally, loudly contemplate withdrawing from NATO. Essentially, I’d like to see US warm up to a post-Putin Russia (since Putin is too much a vassal of Xi by now: they are not even remotely equals any more), and mend that relationship, and make Russia a bulwark against Beijing in the Indo-Pacific
And yeah, Israel, for its own sake, should strive to become as militarily independent as it can be, and start building a supply chain for all its weaponry, maybe including India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, Hungary, Argentina, Colombia and whoever else it can find worldwide. Start having alternatives to the US so that future presidents, be they JD Vance or AOC won’t be able to yank Jerusalem by cutting off the “aid” (all of which is in the form of gift cards rather than cash, which Israel has to use in buying from the Boeings and the Lockheed Martins.) And like they did w/ Biden, Israel should ramp down its intelligence cooperation w/ the US

The ideal for me is American hegemony, American power to be as strong as possible. Whatever role Israel has within that is up to Trump.
I believe in an Eurasia that is not integrated so that it requires the US to extend its power over the region. Getting to Israel, I do not want to see Israel in the Abraham accords. I believe this is a short term benefit for the US yes, but not for the long term.
We need India and Pakistan hostile, Israel vs Islam, Iran vs Gulf, Sunni vs Shia, China vs India, China vs the pacific island nations, Russia Europe. These powers must stay hostile to each other and balance each other out without a major war that would tank OUR economy.
This war has definitely been good toward my viewpoint as it is stressing all these nations economies and their oil and energy supplies.
Israel must keep existing in that region to keep American power strong there, where the oil supply for India China Japan is.

If you want to experience an authentic culture of a country Japan is the only place worth going to. Germany isn’t Germany. France isn’t France. The UK isn’t the UK. Few want to go to Russia, they might conscript you, even if you are 81. China, well no, China is creepy under the CCP. Anywhere else you have to stay in one of those Club Med enclaves and never venture out unless you are a thrill seeking daredevil.
