But now we discover, thanks to an Egyptian commentator who has looked into it, that Israel also controls the outcome of FIFA games. It was not that the Argentines played better, or that Lionel Messi, the best player in the history of soccer, scored spectacular goals that explain Egypt’s loss to Argentina. No, it was Israel that must be blamed.

After Egypt’s elimination by Argentina in the World Cup on Tuesday, Egyptian commentator Mohammed Nour published a video in which he blamed Israel for the 3-2 loss.
In the video, he claimed, among other things, that Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was the one who brought Lionel Messi to Inter Miami.
“We played against Argentina, but also against FIFA and Israel. Very strange things happened there,” Nour claimed. “They set boundaries for Egypt – and it was forbidden to cross them. They didn’t allow the Palestinian flag to be brought in, in front of billions of viewers.”
No, Nour is wrong again. FIFA did not prevent the Egyptian team from bringing in the “Palestinian” flag. He’s hallucinating.
Later in the video, Nour claimed that “the Argentina national team is an Israeli team par excellence. The president of Argentina is one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s best friends. Messi has visited Israel several times, even worn a kippah, and prayed at the Western Wall.
No, Messi visited Israel exactly once, in 2013. At that time, he did visit the Western Wall. And during the same two-day “Peace Tour” with members of his team, Lionel Messi also visited Mahmoud Abbas. Mohammed Nour really must do his homework.
“He met with Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu and is a friend of Yair Netanyahu, who took him to America to play for Inter Miami. Messi and Argentina’s relations with Israel are well known. We played like heroes, but Israel – meaning FIFA and the referees – had something to say about it, and we couldn’t overcome these circumstances,” he added….
The alleged influence of Yair Netanyahu to convince Messi to move to the United States to play in the MLS (Major League Soccer) is completely unfounded. In fact, there is no evidence that Yair Netanyahu has ever met Lionel Messi. The Egyptian commentator has a vivid imagination.
Since 2023, even after several ceasefires were established and amid periods of relative peace in the country, both the Israeli national team and Israeli clubs are still forbidden from hosting matches at home and must travel to other countries to play international games.
Does that FIFA ban on Israeli teams hosting games at home sound as if the organization is controlled by Israel? And what about the fact that FIFA fined the Israel Football Association $190,700 over supposedly “racist” behavior by fans of the club Beitar Jerusalem, and ordered it to display “No to Discrimination” banners? Was Israel controlling FIFA then? And though Israeli sporting circles protested when Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan celebrated a victory while holding a Palestinian flag, FIFA did nothing. Again, another sign that Israel does not now, and never has, controlled FIFA.
Mohammed Nour simply cannot accept that Argentina was the better team than Egypt. Instead, he sees “the Jews” as able to determine the outcome of the game, in some unspecified fashion, so that Egypt would lose. But if so, why didn’t the Jews also arrange for other defeats of the Egyptian team? Indeed, why didn’t Israel ensure that all the Arab teams would lose their matches? How was it, for example, that eight Arab teams even made it to the World Cup in the first place? Couldn’t Israel, which he claims “controls” FIFA, have prevented their getting that far? How much of this conspiratorial nonsense from a sore loser are we expected to believe?

Nowhere does rumor take on the mantle of truth more than in Islam. It would be as if the belief we had in the ridiculous things our teenage peers told us survived into adulthood – and we were still doing it.

FIFA Forbade all flags that were not supposed to be around. If you’re at any Egypt game, what are you doing with a Palestine flag? The monarchical Iranian flag was also forbidden. The rules are simple. Wave your own flag and shut up.

If Israel had that much power with FIFA, wouldn’t Israel have at least qualified for the World Cup? But she never can, since Islamic teams will not play her, she has to play European teams–which are some of the bes in the world.
The fact is that Argentina may be the best team in the world right now–we will know in the next few days. But it is *definately* one of the top three at this point. And almost everyone agrees that Messi is not just the best player today, but likely *the best of all time*–and he has a lot of competition.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian national team is ranked 24th globally–and this is probably too high.
