Australia’s “Islamophobia” top dog, Aftab Malik, recommended that the government discount religion as a motivating factor in terrorist acts. This was clearly an attempt to prevent the Australian government from discovering or shedding any light upon the role of Islam in the motivations of jihad terrorists. Anyone who dared to note that jihad violence was being committed in accord with Islamic texts and teachings would have been dismissed as “Islamophobic.” Surprisingly, Albanese rejected this recommendation, but Aftab Malik will no doubt keep pushing.
“Anthony Albanese releases government’s response to Islamophobia report,” by Lexie Jeuniewic, David Lipson and Keane Bourke, ABC.net.au, July 17, 2026:
The Albanese government’s long-awaited response to its special envoy’s report on Islamophobia has rejected calls for an overhaul of counter-terror laws, focusing instead on a new education task force and expanded community liaison teams for police.
The government has committed to a package of new measures across education and awareness, protection and support, social cohesion, and accountability.
The response includes a review of the education curriculum to strengthen racial and religious tolerance, new multicultural grant programs and additional mental health support, especially for Muslim women.
The government’s response comes 10 months after special envoy to combat Islamophobia, Aftab Malik, released his report with 54 recommendations.
The author of a landmark report on Islamophobia in Australia says the federal government is taking too long to act on the issue.
Releasing the government’s response in Sydney on Saturday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese defended his decision not to adopt all of the recommendations.
“We’ve said it’s independent advice. What we don’t do is we don’t contract out government,” he said.
“Some of [the recommendations] we have adopted in full and are acting on already. Others we’ll give further consideration to.”
Mr Albanese also sought to explain why he rebuffed a push to water down the importance of religion and ideology in defining terrorism in federal laws over Mr Malik’s concerns they could lead to discrimination.
“We operate our terror laws on the basis of appropriate advice from national security agencies,” Mr Albanese said.
“But primarily, we sit in the National Security Committee of the government, and we take advice from our security agencies. I have confidence in them.”
Mr Malik’s submission to the Royal Commission into Antisemitism and Social Cohesion in June made 17 recommendations, including amending the definition of “terrorist act” in federal laws, “to reduce a reliance on ideological, political or religious motivation as a central criterion to the offence”….

I wonder whether Albanese is noticing the rise of Restore Britain in Britain, and wants to head off electoral gains by Pauline Hanlon’s One Nation. In which case, I must commend him
More than one threat says
The electoral gains by Pauline Hanson’s One Nation have been happening for a while, in part due to a reaction to the Wokeism exhibited by Albanese’s Left Wing Australian Labor Party. The UK’s Reform Party is not influential in Australia, but there are common concerns in the UK and Australia regarding immigration, Wokeism, etc
Albanese wants to placate Muslim voters (who tend to vote for the Australian Labor Party), thus Islamopandering recommendations have been adopted.
But, politically speaking, Albanese couldn’t afford to remove religion from Australia’s counter-terrorism laws, after two Muslims massacred Australian Jews at Bondi Beach in December 2025, as there would have been a public backlash.

Nothing to commend him for at all.

Of course, the muzzie wanted to have islime left out as a motivating issue in terror attacks It’s the MO….commit the terror, whine about the reactions to the attacks by the population, lie about islime not being a motivating force, commit more attacks with islime the motivator.
This is one good step…reject the ‘advice’ from the muzzie because he’s motivated by the same islime which motivates rape and murder by muzzlims.

Why do Australians, & the West in general, put up with this misuse of the word “Islamophobia” that defines itself as an irrational (phobia) fear of Islam while using the word to mean mistrust or hostility toward muslims and Islam, which is not what it means. Muslims want you to presuppose that a distrust or hostility toward Islam is irrational when any reading of Islamic teachings makes such distrust or hostility perfectly rational.

Australian government rejects ‘Islamophobia’ envoy’s recommendation to discount role of religion in terrorist acts
……………………………………………..
Well, this is something. But why does Australia have an “Islamophobia envoy” to begin with?
Tim gallagher says
We have this far left government, gravenimage, that naturally panders to Muslims. You get the government you deserve since it is a democracy. I would never vote for left wingers but , alas, huge numbers of Australians do.

To pretend that it’s as bad as antisemitism. However they have responded far more quickly and thoroughly to this “Islamophobia” than they have to antisemitism and with more direct effects.

I wonder how he would react if, on air, he were asked, by a reporter or member of the public, the following series of questions: “Right now, we have fewer than 120,000 Jews in Australia and we have about a million Muslims. What happens if we flip the numbers? What would our security (domestic terrorism alert levels) and law-and-order situation be if we had fewer than 120,00 Muslims, and about a million Jews? Would it be just the same? Worse? Better? Would ASIO, the AFP (Australian Federal Police) and our ordinary police have more to do, less to do, or about the same? How many potential terrorists would we be monitoring? Would there be more or fewer people in our maximum-security prisons? Would we be spending more or less on social welfare? How about organised crime gangs? Would there be more or less organised crime activity in Sydney and Melbourne?”
Because, to be blunt, we all know the answer… If we had lots more Jews in Australia, and a LOT fewer Muslims (hey, if we had almost NO Muslims, which was the case throughout most of our history up until the mid-1970s) we’d be a whole lot better off, in all sorts of ways!

Very kind of you to say so, DDA.
Haven’t seen you comment for quite a while, I hope you are flourishing! 🙂

Spot on. Australian society is so much worse since the 1970s and letting Muslims in. The difference should be obvious to anyone. The murder of 15 people at Bondi has woken some slow learners up. Then there are the 2 people killed in the Lindt cafe Muslim terrorist attack and 1 young woman murdered by the Muslim who then ran through the middle of Sydney until taken down by ordinary citizens. What a disaster it has been letting Muslims in.
