With a particularly unpleasant tone of a viceroy dressing down the ungrateful leader of the restive natives, Vice President JD Vance told Israel to stop criticizing the MoU because, he said, it would be good for the Jewish state. So far, no representative of that state has praised the MoU; attitudes expressed now range from fury to horror. More on Vance’s unseemly dressing-down of Israel can be found here: “Vance: Israel should not attack its only powerful ally left, must abide by peace in Lebanon,” by Corinne Baum, Reuters, June 18, 2026:
US Vice President JD Vance excoriated Israeli critics of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), warning Thursday, “I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.”
This painting of Israel as having only one true friend it can count on — the United States — comes with ill grace precisely because the American administration, not out of malice but out of incompetence, has made a deal that is very bad for Israel.
Speaking to reporters from the White House, Vance said that President Donald Trump was “the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time,” and chastised Israeli cabinet members that the majority of the Jewish State’s defensive weapons were provided through US funding.
It is not true that Trump is the “only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to Israel” at this time. Both parts of that assertion are false. First, Trump has shown no sympathy for Israel’s need to keep hitting Hezbollah in Lebanon and wants Israel to stop, lest continuing to strike Hezbollah causes Iran to pull out of the peace deal. He has accused Israel of needlessly killing civilians: “You don’t have to knock down a building every time somebody walks into it that’s from Hezbollah” is Trump’s misinformed way of describing IDF tactics, where the usual modus operandi is to hit exactly the one apartment in a building being used by Hezbollah terrorists, and to leave the rest of the building intact. Trump has repeatedly and publicly called Netanyahu “f**king crazy.” Can you imagine what Trump’s reaction would be if any foreign leader called him “f**king crazy”? He refused Israel’s request to see the MoU before it was signed. He did not demand that Iran give up its ballistic missiles — a matter of vital concern to Israel — because, Trump said, “it would be a little bit unfair” to keep Iran from having ballistic missiles if Saudi Arabia and others in the region had them.
As for Vance’s claim that the U.S. is Israel’s only ally, that is also not true. Among the leaders around the world who remain staunchly pro-Israel include Javier Milei of Argentina, Narendra Modi of India, Petr Pavel of Czechia, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi of Somaliland, Bernardo Arevalo of Guatemala, Giorgia Meloni of Italy, and Aleksandar Vučić of Sebia. And many of those in Europe who lead anti-Muslim immigrant parties, several of whom are likely to come to power in their country’s next election, include Alice Weidel of the Alternative für Deutschland in Germany, Geert Wilders of the Party for Freedom in the Netherlands, Jordan Bardella of the National Rally in France, and Rupert Lowe of Restore Britain, are all distinctly pro-Israel. Does Vance know any of this?
In fact, without the catastrophic deal Trump is ready to make, which would leave Iran in possession of 140 kg. of uranium enriched to a level of 60%, one step below weapons-grade, as well as holding on to its arsenal of ballistic missiles, and not only promises to give Iran tens of billions of dollars in unfrozen assets but also commits the U.S.to help raise $300 billion in investment funds, Israel was doing quite well in its multi-front war against those who would, if they could, destroy the Jewish state. The IDF has battered both Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and responds with due lethality to every Hezbollah missile and drone. The IDF has seized or destroyed vast amounts of weaponry and killed thousands of members of both terror groups. But if Iran receives the funds Trump is ready to unfreeze, or obtains the much greater sums he promises to help raise for investment in the Islamic Republic, Hamas and Hezbollah will be financially revived.

Frankly, I simply any longer don’t know for certain what the Hell is going on. Perhaps Trump knows what he’s doing but then again he may not. Leaning to the latter as each week goes by but I still don’t know for certain.
And I most definitely want to know for certain. Well, here is something I do know for certain, to wit, assuming that Trump knows what he is doing, big assumption I know, he is not communicating this optimally, not even close. And optics are part of how reality is viewed. Trump, Vance, Rubio, et al. are not very good at the optics “stuff” presently.

Trump is buying time
If he doesn’t bring down those high gas prices and inflation generally, he will lose the midterms and any ability to do what. needs to be done
look at the minority population demanding they have a role in stealing from the juggernaut economy that they migrated into, to milk…..
look at Zohran Kwame Mamdani and his’ gang… makes me sick.
Mamdani, ethnic Indian, born and raised in Uganda, Musim father, Hindu mother…..how American, New York can one get?
AMERICAN CITIZEN FOR 8 YEARS…
Uganda (by birth)
United States (naturalized, since 2018)
Trump needs the majority in the house and senate absolutely to win……if the Democrats take the House and Senate……. Mamdani and others just like him, who seem to be taking over…
WE ARE DONE
lets have a little bit of faith here, Trump knows what he is doing
Wellington says
Well, at least one other certainty here, i.e., Democrats taking back the House or Senate or both would be a disaster for America, for common sense, for the cause of what is morally right, and for so much else. This is because the modern Democratic Party has lost its collective mind as well as any ethical compass and there is no way an informed and patriotic American could possibly argue otherwise.
I despise Islam but I also despise the Democratic Party. Both are enemies of the USA.

we have invited a new type of immigrant into country….hands out- here to take anything they can and filled with resentment and contempt
( historically, immigrants spoke of the “old country” that which they left when immigrating to America, now they refer to the country they left, as my country)
with third world “culture” and religions totally disconnected to the society of America, and who look different and live with different expectations and values
many are determined not to assimilate but here to force us to change to accommodate them
and then the elected who disregard their mandate to represent, often follow their own agenda and hold onto power, ay any cost
and betray their voters and country.
how did we get to this place ?

Yes, one thing is certain:
The Republicans cannot lose control of either the House or the Senate in the upcoming midterms.
How to achieve that is the question.

I to think Trump is now working the mid terms, because if they lose seats everything will be gone. I hope he holds it to gather through the mid-terms and then kicks the IRG to hell.

I won’t be supporting Vance in the primary (though I would of course vote for him rather than a D in the General).
I hope DeSantis runs again. Military Officer experience, especially in combat, is indispensable for the CINC post. Trump is demonstrating why. Such experience doesn’t guarantee wise judgment and strategic vision. However, it definitely reduces the risk of a Dunning-Kruger catastrophe.

I am also warming up to DeSantis.

How many of these countries vote w/ Israel in the UN? I know for a fact that India rarely does, and in fact, for a “Hindu nationalist” government, has such ties to the islamic regime that earlier this year, it was w/ the bunch of countries that refused to condemn the massacres of January 8th and 9th.
Also, while Israel has done the right thing by recognizing Somaliland, no other country does. Yeah, it’s completely independent of Mogadishu, but it’s not as fully functional a state as, say, Transnistria
Truth be told, if every non-muslim country in the world had Right-leaning governments and weren’t dependent on Middle Eastern oil, every one of them would be pro-Israel. While every Left-leaning one would default to being anti-Israel
