Trump described the Iranian negotiators as “very nice people.” He doesn’t think as well of the Israelis: “Trump says he sent Israel draft of MoU with Iran, expects signing to happen soon,” Jerusalem Post, June 17, 2026:
Trump asserted that the MoU would survive should Israel strike in Lebanon.
“I consider that the minor war, that Iran’s a big one, but we have that little pin prick out there that constantly rears its head, and that’s Hezbollah,” he said.
Hezbollah is not a “little pinprick” that Israel should just agree to endure in order to please Trump. Its rockets and drones send more than a million Israelis running, several times a day, to their bomb shelters, disrupting businesses, transportation, school lessons, and even operations in hospitals. Foreigners fail to realize just what a discombobulating presence those missiles and dromes can be, even if they are mostly intercepted or fall harmlessly into fields.
“I’ll tell you what, Israel’s fighting Hezbollah too long, and too many people are being killed. You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody, because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses, and they’re not all Hezbollah.”
Israel is “fighting Hezbollah too long”? Would Trump like to provide a precise timeline of what he, the grand strategist, Mar-a-Lago’s very own Clausewitz, thinks should apply to the IDF’s war on Hezbollah? The war is not “too long” — it takes the time it takes, to deal with a terror group that has had decades to insert itself in the warp and woof of Lebanese life. As for his claim that “too many people are being killed,” what is Trump’s metric? About 3,800 people have been killed in Lebanon in the latest fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The IDF believes that at least 2,600 of them were members of Hezbollah. Would a figure of 1,200 civilians — and many of those civilians are family members of Hezbollah combatants — mean “too many people are being killed?“
“I suggested to Israel to let Syria take care of Hezbollah because, to be honest with you, I think they’d do a better job of doing it. If Israel can’t do the job without killing everyone else, it’ll do the job. Syria will do the job.”…
This is among Trump’s crazier ideas. He apparently thinks the suave Sunni jihadists who run Syria should take over the job of dealing with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Does he think if they once enter Lebanon they will soon leave?. Has he forgotten the violence in Lebanon the last time Syria occupied the country, from 1996 to 2005? Does he not realize that Syrian soldiers in Lebanon are definitely not wanted by the Lebanese? Does he realize that at least 70% of the Lebanese want the IDF to finish the job of destroying Hezbollah? I don’t think he understands any of that.
Trump noted that the MoU was not final, and that he could resume a bombing campaign if he did not like it.
“If I don’t like it, we’ll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head. If I don’t like it, if they don’t behave, we’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head.”…
But Trump won’t allow Israel the same freedom. He has told the Israelis that they should stop their war of self-defense against the terror group Hezbollah in Lebanon. So according to Trump, if Hezbollah continues to launch missiles and drones at Israel, the IDF should not respond. Of course Trump’s demand will simply be ignored by Israel. Will Trump then have one more of his Trumpian fits, and start talking about cutting military aid to Israel for having dared to defy him? With this egomaniac, anything is possible. The IDF needs to continue battering Hezbollah, and hope it can do so with sufficient lethality that it can soon turn over the final dismantlement of the terror group to the Lebanese National Army.
“Obama handed [Iran] $1.7b. In cash… they tried to bribe their way out of it, and you know what the Iranians did? They laughed at Obama, and they said he’s a stupid son of a b****,” Trump said.
Obama handed Iran $1.7 in cash, but Trump is preparing to unfreeze assets of at least $24 billion and give it to Iran. And there are reports that the U.S. will organize a private fund of $300 billion to be invested in Iran. Doesn’t that make him even more of “a stupid son of a bitch” than Obama?
Trump then thanked Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his assistance in negotiating a deal….
Qatar is the Arab state that has most consistently supported Hamas. It has supplied money to the terror group, and provided luxurious refuge to several of Hamas’ most senior leaders. Yet Trump says that “you fought, and you helped us [in the negotiations with Iran], and with great bravery.”
I don’t know what he can possibly mean. Does he mean that the Qataris helped negotiate a deal with Iran that Trump tells himself is “a great deal,” but much of the world, including the fanatics in Iran, and the dismayed people of Iran, know is a terrible deal for the Americans? No thanks are due Qatar. It remains a supporter of Hamas — and that means it also supports the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is the Gaza branch. Trump should not have thanked Qatar for anything. Instead, we are left with Trump promising that “you”ll always be my friend” to the ruler of one of the most deceitful and sinister regimes on earth.
So Trump has managed to infuriate the Israelis, presuming to lecture them on what they can and cannot do to protect themselves in a war with Hezbollah they did not want and did not start. He has left the Lebanese, or most of them, furious that he wants to, as they see it, “rescue Hezbollah.” He has demoralized the people of Iran with his pronouncement that he “never cared about regime change.” And he has brought joy to the rulers of Iran, who can hardly believe their luck.

The White House has been bought by Qatar for 19 trillion dollars – with the help of Trump’s negotiator Steve Witkoff – with free advertising buy Qatar’s Al Jazeera media giant. Qatar is now a major funder of American university programs in Middle Eastern studies. And Pakistan is no neutral party in this – they hid Osama bin Laden and they funded Hamas with cash.
The Arabs are laughing at the useful idiots in the west – laughing all the way to Mecca.

My brave English mother and aunt joined the British army as young women during WWII and survived the London Blitz. My grandfather–a local police superintendent–was also head of the local Home Guard.
