Somali MP Wants to Replace ‘Canada Day’ with ‘Somali Heritage Month’

There are 100,000 Somalis and 41 million Canadians.

They’re not doing this accidentally.

Last year, former Boston Councilwoman Tania Fernandes Anderson, a former illegal alien and future convicted criminal, managed to get the Boston City Council to turn July from the month of America’s independence to a celebration of her native Cabo Verde Independence Month.

Now in Canada, MP Ahmed Hussen, a Somali immigrant from Mogadishu and the first Somali MP, has co-sponsored a bill to shift July over from Canada Day to ‘Somali Heritage Month’.

The bill claims that “Canada’s strength is reflected in the diversity of its population”, that “Canada is home to many Canadians of Somali heritage” and that Parliament wishes to recognize that “Canadians of Somali descent have made and continue to make significant contributions to Canada, and wishes to better inform Canadians about those contributions by recognizing and celebrating them.”

No such contributions are listed in the bill, but if it passes then “Throughout Canada, in each year, the month of July is to be known as ‘Somali Heritage Month’”.

According to the bill, “Canadians of Somali descent celebrate Somalia’s Independence Day each year on July 1”.

Canadians of, well Canadian descent, celebrate Canada Day when the country was officially established, but Somalia is obviously more important.

There are some 100,000 Somali settlers reportedly occupying parts of Canada. As opposed to a native population of over 40 million.

That seems a little bit unfair.

The math on giving Somalis a whole month doesn’t make sense. Let alone allowing them to replace Canada Day with Somali Independence Day which marked the brutal suppression of Somaliland’s first effort at independence is madness.

The main push for Somali Heritage Month comes from MP Yvan Baker, previously under fire for honoring Ukrainian Nazis and who worked at an organization that urged welcoming SS members to Canada.

If he just moved down to Maine, he could be really popular.

    whatever.

    Remember the old days from a few years ago….didn’t a muzlim ….part Libyan.. engage in a mass shooting the Canadian Parlement? He murdered one Canadian soldier.

    and now, only 12 years later, muzlims are in Canadian government, moving the nation to be added to the 57.

  4. Diversity in the West is pushed by two major groups of ignorant people, Muslims and Leftists. The former in full ignorance mode does so primarily for deceptive reasons. The latter in full ignorance mode does so out of an idiotic sincerity.

    But ignorance is the common denominator here. An easy call. And man never advances by way of ignorance. Never indeed and sure regressing now in the West due to, duh, Islam and Leftism.

    So, by all means, do away with Canada Day and replace it with Somali Heritage Month (N.B., Muslims and Leftists will be just fine with this).

    The Age of Nonsense marches on. You bet it does and why it’s now time for a Yuengling more than ever.

    Man is an idiot most of the time. How could I possibly conclude otherwise?

    • Maybe the Muslims replace that one with terrorist appreciation day. Thank Trudeau and Mike Carney. Another globalist stooge.

      Canadians are clowns and fools for a while now. The old Canadians I knew are Long gone and the Muslims are the new Canadians.

      I have served all over the world with everybody, I knew some tough Canadians that grew up on Salmon anD I SWEAR wore shorts ALL YEAR. The guys were STRONGER than me. Great rugged men you want in your foxhole ready to kill. That’s gone!

  6. Just strip Ahmed Hussen of Canadian citizenship and deport him to Somalia.

    Then Ahmed Hussen can promote Somali Heritage Year.

    Everyone wins.

  7. We are all ears. Please inform us about the historic details of Somali Heritage and why it is more important than being a patriotic citizen of Canada and celebrating Canada on its special day.

    • Oh, yeah! I’ve studied world history from various POVs. Even from a Middle Eastern POV, there were important empires and countries in the region – the various caliphates, the Ottoman empire, the Kiswahili sultanate of East Africa, there were various countries that did have some history – Arabia, Ethiopia, even the Kiswahili sultanate. But somehow, Somalia was never a major thing

      Celebrating Somalia is almost akin to celebrating Balestine

    • Why didn’t I think of that west man. They do nothing but STEAL. So the have never done a damned accomplishedment.

      Jefferson said they’re pirates way back. Now we brought them in thanks to Bush, and look. They want to end the country that took them in. Look at Omar. Look what we’ve fallen to in my lifetime. I would have never dreamed this being a young man in post war America. Never in a million years .

  12. I am a Canadian. This bill is a disgrace and another step to erase Canada’s history. There had been no contribution from the Somali community except for crime. There is no recognition of the real people who built Canada. Diversity is not our strength. It’s our downfall.

    This would be insane if it were *any* foreign nation representing a small number of immigrants–but that it is *Somalia*, a nation (if you can call it that) horrifying even by the standards of Islam and of Africa. Jihad terror, murder of converts from Islam, FGM, and stoning a child gang rape victim to death. This is one of the most appalling of all parts of Dar-al-Islam.

    And Somalis supposedly came to Canada–and the US–to seek asylum from this savagery. This proposal gives the lie to that claim. Save for wanting to live off generous welfare benefits and other scams, most Somalis in Canada want to turn that civilized nation into the same kind of Islamic hell hole.
