If this is true, Trump’s deal will be far, far worse than the Obama deal that a younger Trump so devastatingly and correctly derided. Our only hope is that the Iranian leadership, in its arrogance and fanaticism, will reject this deal, or that this report is false. Lending it credibility, however, is the fact that Vance recently said that Iran wouldn’t receive any money, and then in practically the same breath, started talking about economic benefits it would receive:

The money that would flow to the Islamic Republic if it can fool the State Department (easy enough) into thinking it’s meeting its obligations would almost certainly be earmarked “humanitarian aid.” Western leaders who constantly dole out “humanitarian aid,” even to avowed enemies of our nation, apparently hope we don’t realize that when you give someone money and tell him not to do anything evil with it, he can just take money he was going to spend on essentials and use it for the evil purposes he has in mind. “Humanitarian aid” to an evil regime is support for that evil regime, and there is no getting around that.

And that isn’t even close to all. The Iranian state-controlled Mehr News Agency is trumpeting the deal as a complete victory for the Islamic Republic. It involves concession after concession from the U.S., and nothing whatsoever in the other direction. Mehr states the 14 provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding in this way:
According to the source, the draft includes the following provisions:
1. Permanent and immediate end to war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
2. US commitment to non-interference in Iran’s internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
3. Complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 days.
4. US commitment to withdraw its forces from around Iran.
5. Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days, under Iranian arrangements.
6. Suspension of sanctions on oil and petrochemical product sales and derivatives, and full Iranian access to its financial resources.
7. Reconstruction plans to be presented by the US and its allies, totalling at least $300 billion.
8. A 60-day negotiation period to reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue and the complete removal of US primary and secondary sanctions, UN Security Council resolutions, and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions.
9. Reaffirmation of Iran’s NPT commitment not to produce nuclear weapons.
10. During the negotiation period, the US commits not to add forces to the region and not to impose new sanctions.
11. Release of $24 billion in Iran’s blocked funds during the 60-day final negotiation period, with half of that amount to be made available to Iran before negotiations begin.
12. Establishment of a monitoring mechanism to implement the agreement.
13. The final agreement to be ratified by a UN Security Council resolution.
14. Final negotiations will not begin until half of Iran’s blocked funds are released, oil sanctions are suspended, and the naval blockade is lifted. The final agreement will address only the fate of enriched materials and enrichment, sanctions relief, and Iran’s economic reconstruction programme. Talks on Iran’s missile programme and its support for Resistance groups have been definitively removed from the agenda.
If this is even close to true, it’s the most breathtaking betrayal in American history (after Trump’s promises to the Iranian people), a new lease on life for the Islamic Republic, likely ensuring it remains in power for decades to come, and the most humiliating and unnecessary defeat in American history. Trump’s legacy will be surrender and the empowerment of America’s enemies, to an extent even worse than anything Barack Obama or Old Joe Biden did.
Trump himself, however, professes to be enthusiastic about the whole thing, and says: “This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region. Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me. The Leaders of the Region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real Peace. With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World! President DONALD J. TRUMP” We shall see.

Also, the US doesn’t have to disburse them to the regime handlers: they can work out how to get that to the people who need it via the resistance

So, essentially Trump surrendered to iran if that reporting is correct. Plus no guarantee on stopping nuclear enrichment in this deal since it’s going to be covered in the follow up discussion that lasts 60 days, plus it keeps Israel from operating in Lebanon. Like I mentioned in the 9am post on this story, there is a lot more to it, if one looks at the Iranian reactions. Yesterday, Trump “retweeted” Ghalibaf or Araghchi (I’ve forgotten whom), and that got them into trouble w/ loyal islamic republicans, who started demonstrating and chanting for their death. If this deal is a surrender to the islamic regime, like the JCPOA was, then why is the IRGC at loggerheads w/ those 2 men? They should be praising, rather than criticizing them for pulling a fast one over Trump!
Essentially, by prolonging these negotiations, Trump managed to starve the regime and now incited even more infighting within it. When there are clashes b/w the “police” and IRGC, who’s backing who, and who’s the law enforcer? If those lynch mobs did manage to lynch Ghalibaf, Araghchi and Pezeshkian, then who exactly would those foreign countries that still want to engage w/ the islamic republic talk to? It’s beyond hilarious. If the regime completely collapses not due to US, not due to Israel, not even due to the Iranian people but just from infighting b/w the thugs w/ guns, nobody can accuse the first 3 of “regime change”
Given all that, despite my reservations over the President these last few months, I’m now beginning to see the method in the…. madness. Not 3D or 4D or 5D chess hyperlatives, but a real cause-effect co-relation into what he’s doing and why

There is no reason to flood Iran w/ mercenaries from other places: just somehow arm them so that they can launch an uprising. But I think this part has turned out to be logistically more difficult, and hence the strategy of driving a wedge within the regime. As for the Ayatollah, I watched an Iranian podcaster Armin Navabi speculate that having a dead Ayatollah would be the greatest strategy for the IRGC, or anyone who wants to run an islamic Iran:
