First they came for the cottage cheese….
These antisemites don’t miss a trick. They leave no stone unturned in their insensate desire to pull down the Jewish state and replace it with the “state of Palestine.” Just now they have won a terrific new victory, at least by their dimwitted lights, by having Israeli foods — of which there are a grand total of twelve now to be found on the shelves of the Park Slope Food Coop in Brooklyn, banned. More on this tragicomical tale can be found here: “Jewish Groups Denounce New York City Food Co-Op’s Vote to Boycott Israeli Products,” by Dion J. Pierre, Algemeiner, May 27, 2026:
Jewish advocacy groups decried a famous New York City food co-op’s decision on Tuesday night to enact a boycott of Israeli products, arguing the move endorses an antisemitic movement to destroy Israel.
About 7,000 of the Park Slope Food Co-op’s 17,000 members attended the meeting, which was moved to Zoom after Jewish attendees expressed fear for their safety if they went in person.
The boycott passed by a vote of 67 percent in favor to 31 percent against. The remaining two percent abstained.
Only 7,000 of the 17,000 members of the Food Co-op showed up, on Zoom, to vote, and it is likely that most of these were the BDS activists, while the 10,000 who did not show up either did not support the boycott but wanted to avoid trouble from those pushing it, or didn’t give a damn one way or another. Two-thirds of those 7,000 amounts to 4,666 votes in favor of the boycott, out of a total membership of 17,000. Should we be impressed? This is how a determined minority can ride roughshod over a too-passive majority.
According to the text of the approved measure, the co-op will “not sell goods produced in Israel (pre-1967 borders) or in Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.” Fewer than a dozen Israeli-made items sold in the co-op will be affected.
So it’s not just goods produced by “settlers” in the “Occupied West Bank” who are to be boycotted, but food produced anywhere in Israel.
The move is on brand, as the organization has a history of advocating progressive causes. However, Jewish civil rights group said on Wednesday that it only serves to further normalize discrimination and assaults on Jewish identity….
Jewish groups, with the Louis Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law in the lead, are determined to have the Park Slope Co-op reverse its decision. And Jewish members of the Co-Op are threatening to resign. If enough of them resign, that could weaken the remaining members’ power to negotiate lower prices for food.
Earlier this month, masses of anti-Israel demonstrators marched through the heavily Jewish Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn and protested outside Young Israel of Midwood synagogue over its involvement in selling land they say is “stolen” for being located in West Bank.
Those demonstrators calling Judea and Samaria “stolen” land are apparently unaware that Jews have lived on that land for 3500 years. Furthermore, Judea and Samaria were included in the territory that the League of Nations assigned to the Mandate for Palestine, territory that was then expected to become the Jewish National Home, and then the Jewish state.
Video circulated online from the protest appeared to show a female demonstrator, wearing a surgical mask and a red keffiyeh scarf around her shoulders, assaulting a Jewish girl by grabbing her hair from behind as she attempted to move through the crowd to get home. When a group of teenagers near the incident decried the assault, a swarm of hooded protesters confronted them, pushing and squaring shoulders in an apparent effort to dare a response and threaten more force.
What would a BDS rally, or any anti-Israel rally be, without some violence, as with the keffiyehed and masked woman pulling the hair of a Jewish girl, and the hooded BDS protesters who appeared to defend her assault against those bystanders who deplored it?
If the Brandeis Center lawsuit does not end in a reversal of this BDS policy, supporters of Israel, Jews and non-Jews, should resign from the Park Slope Co-Op and start their own Co-Op down the street, with lots and lots of Israeli products, such as Bamba, Bissil, Halva, Peti-Ber, Israeli Humus and Tahini, Silan, and Wissotzky tea. Teach the BDSers a lesson. And Bon Appétit.

No longer the ‘mind your own business’ and leave others to mind theirs. muzzies and their dim-witted, and /or evil, cohorts must mind everyone’s business and decide what can and cannot be bought.

I lived in Park Slope for a few years, many many years ago. A lovely neighborhood. With the requisite number of smug virtue-signaling leftist a-holes, blissfully ignorant of the savagery festering in the world beyond their comfortable brownstone enclave, but all-too-willing to render an approved opinion about their moral superiority.

They are Virtue signaling useful idiots who know nothing but slogans. The Arab propaganda machine (aided by China and Russia) has done major harm to western civilization as intended.
Leftist leaders know nothing of the horror that awaits them.

Easy for them, since they don’t make anything, and therefore can’t be subjected to any counter-boycott

************** Hello Hugh,
Can you make us a list of Islamic foods and items we can boycott? And I’m talking about as many as possible, such as Turkish towels, etc.
I know it’s a big request but maybe you have something like this lying around? In any case, thank you.

Look for a halal label on most things. They are usually marked, if only to attract muslim clientele
Some people here have said that all New Zealand meats are halal. I have no way of knowing how accurate that is

and since I spoke to the manager at Costco Business center about the lack of halal indication on the meats, the halal meats have been moved to a stand alone location with more noticeable description. You have to let them know, you don’t want “religious” prayers said over the food you buy,
and just read the label.

Park Slope Food Co-Op Bans Israeli Products
………………………………………………
What kind of idiots want to ban products from the only democracy in the Middle East? Oh–this kind.
By the way, I am using SodaStream right now–an excellent Israeli product where you make your own carbonated water. Healthy and a real money saver–you just have to replace the C02 canister periodically. Far cheaper and easier than buying retail.
Of course, there are many more products.
