This news story should be top-of-the-site headlines everywhere, but the fact that it isn’t demonstrates the ongoing lack of media accountability in America. That threats could exist and go unreported — either because of fear or loyalty to foreign enemy forces — calls the entire media agenda into question. The article below states that “liberal-leaning outlets can be presumed to have ignored the story because of opposition to Trump—or even outright sympathy for Tehran,” before going on to discuss the culpability of mainstream right-leaning media as well.

It was no secret that Obama was a friend to Muslim Brotherhood, but the fact that he was also a friend to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s “radical regime leaders” puts a new spin on his agenda and that of the Democrats in general. Joe Biden continued the pattern of pouring billions into the coffers of Iran, under a bogus Iran deal that in essence paid billions to the Islamic Republic in the bizarre hope that the regime would self-regulate.

Under Obama, Iran — a main funder of Hamas — saw $33.3 billion in backroom deals flow into its coffers. Under Biden, billions more were sent to Iran.

In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered proof that Iran had violated the nuclear deal, and it admitted having done so in 2020.

In 2021, at a ceremony, the Islamic Republic of Iran unveiled a new underground “missile city,” as the late Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Hossein Salami issued a threat: “These missiles have great destructive power and can bypass the enemy’s electronic warfare systems.” In 2024, Rafael Grossi, the  head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), admitted that Iran had stopped abiding by the nuclear deal in 2021. But the real violations came before that.

In 2015, there was division even in the Democrat camp about Barack Obama’s sham of a nuke deal.

Under Trump, no such insanity continued. The question now is accountability. Who pays for the countless victims of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the “brutal execution” of Ruhollah Zam, who exposed Obama’s gifts to Iran? And who pays for the fallout of an inevitable war — from the human lives to economic strain — thanks to Obama and Biden, who not only enabled Iran, but aided it? And the silent media has been culpable as well.

Since 2017, Iranians have widely discussed reports that the Obama administration granted a number of U.S. Green Cards (variously reported as 2,500 or 2,800) to Khomeiniist regime leaders as part of a secret codicil to the 2015 nuclear deal, the JCPOA.

This allegation was first published on February 14th of that year by Amad News, an outlet founded by dissident Ruhollah Zam, who was later lured into a trap by IRGC intelligence, forcibly taken to Iran, summarily tried, and then executed in 2020. At the time, the story did not gain traction in the West, though it was covered by prominent outlets such as Al Arabiya.

Escalation and Wider Coverage (2018)
The allegation received wider coverage in 2018 when Hojjatoleslam Mojtaba Zolnour, an opponent of then-president Hassan Rouhani, raised the matter in an interview with the Iranian newspaper Etemad. Zolnour added that 30 to 40 children of top Khomeinist officials were then studying in the United States, while many others were “wasting Iranian public assets” to live “extravagant lives” there….

        Oh Yes they did. They continued the weaponization of the Injustice Department (as bad as Eric Holder was, Merrick Garland was even worse). Biden et al. continued the racial division nonsense and even upped the ante by describing upwards of half of Americans as garbage (the September 1st, 2022 speech that Biden gave before Independence Hall would be my choice for the single most despicable speech ever given by an American President). Biden also had the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in August of 2021 pressured social media to silence conservative voices even more than Obama did, spent trillions of dollars uselessly and, worst of all, opened our southern border to invasion to the tune of upwards of 20 million—even Obama was not bad in this area as he deported many.

        Frankly, I think you not only wrong but egregiously wrong. Yes, Obama was awful but Biden was even worse..

          Biden was awful but he was also Obama’s third term. Obama selected Biden as his VEEP. Obama weaponized the government in ways not seen in decades. Most of the heavies in Biden’s administration, including Garland, were likely selected and/or approved by Obama. Would Biden have carried out the lawfare campaign against Trump without Obama’s apparatchiks in place to do the dirty work?

          Biden was willing to do whatever was necessary to satisfy his own presidential ambitions and Obama took advantage of that. As bad as Biden was, Obama was worse because he had the desire and the will to fundamentally transform America.

        • PMK: I agree that Biden’s Presidency was effectively Obama’s third term but I have based my assessment on what actually happened in the years between 2009-2017 v. 2021-2025 and as bad as those first eight years were those last four were even worse for America and Biden was nominally the President. No way I am going to let this selfish, stupid, corrupt, despicable and massively incompetent man off the hook by not noting that he was the President during those awful four years. The harm done to America under Biden was even worse than the harm done to America under Obama. No forgiveness to Biden. None.

          Take this coming from a guy who believes that we could probably safely take in more than the current 675,000 yearly legal immigrants now provided for in law–and also believes that Walz and Frey should face charges over the Minnesota fracas.

          Under Obama, the arrests, detentions, and deportations of both criminal illegal aliens and others who were only border jumpers oing menial work continued. Tom Holman mentioned he’d deported more when he was working for the O than under Trump. As an English Language Development teacher, I saw more students deported in the Obama years than in the Trump years. I am convinced immigration enforceent has become an issue under Trump only because the partisan medi choose to make it one. Remember when they shut up about “kids in cages” when someone pointed out that the photos were taken when the O was in office?

          Biden’s throwing open the borders was one of the biggest strategic mistakes ever made, if viewed from the standpoint and social stability and national security rather than partisan advantage (and I am convinced it was done to swell Democratic voting ranks). You simply cannot let such numbers in without vetting.

          I raise the immigration issue because I live in a heavily immigrant area (ICE is never around; probably because the neighbors came in legally) and teach a teenaged population of which at least some are without legal status (when I find out about someone’s status, it is usually because something slips out that suggests legal status–years waiting to join a grandparent or uncle; some recent grad joining the military; etc.).

          Further, with various terrorist groups vowing to wage war on the US, Biden’s policies were a Hell-sent opportunity.

          Yes you made excellent points. There is so much more as well, Biden was utter trash. He wasn’t even a president anyway. He was just a puppet for whoever can put their hand up his behind at any moment.

          Obama was terrible for our country though. Clinton was decent. Old man Bush was a very good president though. He never gets his due. Sad he lost.

      • Sticking, John Smith, with Biden as the worst President because of what actually transpired during Biden’s term. Being a puppet President doesn’t negate my contention that he was the worst. In fact, he was the worst in large part BECAUSE he was a puppet President. Even Obama didn’t do as many stupid things as Biden did.

Great people and one of only two states, the other being Oklahoma, in which Trump won every single county, bar none, in the 2024 election.   5. The State Department can redact all those Green Cards, regardless of how they were issued. As it is, I suspect that many of those would-be recipients are dead from the first few weeks of the war

    However, what’s the use of denouncing Obama, when Trump is giving the regime people new leases of life? Delaying the one thing that would stabilize the region

For in his book TIME TO BETRAY its author, Reza Kahlili gives his first hand and testimony and observation when he had revealed to his readers, on page 335, that at first he was a bit naive about Obama for “I had high hopes that the Obama administration would be tougher on the Islamic government of Iran, especially given what they knew about the regime’s nuclear activities. However, his first overture to the mullahs disappointed me. He sent greetings for the Persian New Year in which he urged better relations between American and Iran. He then repeated this in letters to Ayatollah Khamenei. To me, this was a sad case of not learning from history. Once again, American politicians refused to see that the mullahs were not men of reason, and that their animosity toward America was rooted in the interpretation of a prophecy that called for the annihilation of the West and all non-Muslims. I knew the regime would see Obama’s entreaties as assign of weakness, and that this would embolden them to take radical steps.”

    Obama was aiding and straighten American enemy, that “mullah regime’ of Iran, and also letting down the Iranian people by not doing anything to help them when he have in their righteous quest for freedom against that cruel oppressive tyranny.

This reveals the Obama was, as President, far worse than grossly incompetent, Obama was traitorous to both the American people a as well as to the United State of America. Obama was therefore an affront and disgrace to the office of Chief Executive in the White House.

    Therefore, the former President Obama in his Islamic subversion of America is not even limited to being a traitor to The USA but in his insidious he way and is dangerous to Israel and all the other nations of the West.

  11. This seems very fishy to me–in the sense that the report may not be accurate, or only conspiratorial hearsay at best.

    Under what section or provision of the US Immigration and Nationality Act would those Khomeinist leaders be eligible for US Permanent Residence? Do they have close, US citiaen relatives? Do they bring rare, needed skills other than making revolution or grifting?

    If the Khomeinists were so afraid of rising hostility from the Iranian street, why wouldn’t they go to France or soe other more sympathetic country? Didn’t they label us the Great Shaitan? I can understand high-ranking Chinese cadre doing this; for they need a place to put their money should the Communist ideology make a return in their country. But, what is it with Iran’s Khomeinists?

    BTW, while I was never a fan of further US intervention in Iran, I sincerely hope that Trump’s multiple on-again-off-again talks and bombings are just learning from the Chicom playbook of Da-da Tan-tan (strike, strike, talk, talk) used with people they thought they were beating.
