One day Trump is denouncing Israel’s prime minister as “f**king crazy,” and telling Netanyahu he better do what he says, or else, while his vice president, JD Vance, tells Israel it has no friends in the entire world except for the United States, and better behave, and then, a day later, without so much as a by-your-leave, Trump has turned his epic fury again on Iran and its terrorist proxy Hezbollah. US President Donald Trump warned Iran to stop supporting proxies in Lebanon, warning that he could resume strikes on the country should they fail to do so in a Sunday Truth Social post.
“Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble,” Trump wrote, implying Hezbollah.
“If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again,” he added.
The day before, the terminally mercurial Trump had been denouncing Netanyahu because Israel dares to respond to Hezbollah’s attacks with attacks of its own, despite Emperor Trump’s command NOT TO DO SO.
And now he’s threatening Iran yet again with total destruction.
Additionally, Trump warned Iran not to close the Strait of Hormuz in an overnight conversation, Fox News reported Sunday.
“You close it, and you won’t have a country,” Trump said he told Iranian officials, according to the Fox News report. “You won’t even make it back to your f***ing country.”
“We may take over the Strait, if we have to,” Trump commented to the channel.
“I’ll blow the s*** out of them,” he added….
Well, what now? On June 21, Iran announced it had once again closed the Strait of Hormuz. The American government said that the Strait of Hormuz remained open. Who is telling the truth? By saying that the Strait of Hormuz is closed — even if it isn’t— does Iran’s claim sufficiently scare shipping companies from attempting to send their ships through the Strait, where insurance rates for those ships remain sky-high, just in case Iran is telling the truth?
Trump first publicly suggested letting Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa fight Hezbollah in Israel’s place at the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, after having criticized Israel’s strikes as being too inaccurate.
He still does not apparently realize that Syrian jihadis run the Syrian government he so admires. If Syria were to take over Lebanon, as Trump has suggested would be a good idea, that would likely lead to the Syrian army crushing the non-Muslim and non-Arab minorities — the Christians, Druze, and Kurds — in Lebanon. In what way would delivering Lebanon into the hands of Ahmed al-Sharaa, that false “moderate,” further America’s national interest?
And what will Trump say tomorrow? God only knows. When you contemplate Trump, as James Joyce wrote, quoting “Seaside Girls” by Vesta Tilley, “your head it simply swirls.”
One word of advice I hope will be passed on to Donald J. Trump: Please, Mr. President, a little more Talleyrand, and a lot less Howard Stern.

There’s no one like Trump. He is unique in American political history and just overall as a human being. I still remain hopeful that where Iran is concerned he is unique in a very positive way, which frankly doesn’t look like the case presently but then I’m not Trump, am I?

Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was rigged should have disqualified him as mentally unstable, but, he was a well-known, household name, like Charmin, so he was elected. As de Tocqueville once wrote: In a democracy, people get the government they deserve – which is a bit depressing.
This is part of a pattern in the West of always taking the easy way out. Voters want ever more freebies, and the use of force to defend our interests is considered too great a sacrifice, either abroad or on our borders.
My worry is that China perceives our weakness, invades or blockades Taiwan, controls vital trade routes, Iran dominates the Mideast, Europe sinks into irrelevance, and we become a vassal state.

Oh, I still agree w/ him that that election was rigged. Just b’cos we have differences w/ him now over his decisions about Iran doesn’t change what was clearly factual on the ground at the time. As well as election irregularities in all of those 6 battleground states
