Reuters identifies Ayada K. as a “Dutch woman,” but Ayada K. herself almost certainly does not consider herself to be Dutch. She most likely considers herself to be a citizen of the umma, the worldwide Muslim community, and that’s why she traveled to the Islamic State in the first place. And why wouldn’t she have allowed her son to join the jihad? If she believes in Islam, she believes that she must wage war against unbelievers in order to establish dominance over them. The Islamic State was doing that. Not only did she allow sonny boy to join the great struggle, but was almost certainly proud of having done so, and certain that Allah would reward her for doing so.

A district court in The Hague on Friday convicted a 49-year-old Dutch woman of war crimes and sentenced her to seven years in prison for allowing her then 14-year-old son to become a fighter for Islamic State.
The woman, identified only as Ayada K., was convicted of the war crime of aiding and abetting the recruitment of a child soldier by allowing a minor to take up arms for Islamic State, the court said in a press release….
K. took her teenage son and daughter from the Netherlands to live in Islamic State-held territory in Syria in 2014. Judges say she then let her son join the Islamic State military police at 14. He died two years later while serving in an Islamic State military unit, according to the verdict….

Even though the libs generally dislike the idea of collective punishment, this might work here as well. In the United States parents are sometimes held accountable for the criminal actions of their children. If being a jihadi in the United States or a supporter of Hamas (but I repeat myself) can be criminalized, let’s begin putting their parents in jail to see how long they’ll chant “free palestine.”
