You can’t negotiate with Islamic terrorists. All you can do is be taken hostage by them.
Negotiating with Islamic terrorists in general is a humiliation ritual. The moment you agree, you’ve lost face, shown weakness and it is now their mandate to humiliate you as much possible in order to extract maximum advantage while failing to keep any promises that they make.
Our leaders still haven’t learned this most basic fact from history. Including American history. (In two recent articles, “The Truth About the First Muslim Country to Recognize America” and “America Has Been Fighting Islamic Attacks for 242 Years”, I discuss how Adams and Jefferson learned this the hard way, trying to make treaties with Muslims in Algiers and Morocco, only to have them demand tribute and attack us anyway.)
So Iran is now doing exactly what I and anyone who knows anything about Islam and geopolitics predicted it would do, closing and opening the strait and demanding more. Currently Iran is demanding that the United States stop Israel from fighting back against Hezbollah attacks in Lebanon.
Assuming that J.D. Vance secures a blank check for Iran’s terrorists in Lebanon, there will be more demands, more closures and the humiliation rituals will go on until we wake up and stop jumping every time the terrorists shout… or until Iran’s ‘Death to America’ motto has been achieved.
You can’t negotiate with Islamic terrorists. All you can do is be taken hostage by them. Choosing to negotiate with them is choosing to be taken hostage. The moment we stop negotiating, the hostage crisis ends.

People have known for ages that trying to negotiate with any islamic person, country or region is a losing proposition. Islam does not negotiate or keep their word with infidels.
We need to go back to the idea of walk softly and carry a big stick. Our response to any islamic terrorist organization should be one that is not ‘proportional’, but one that makes it clear that we will not be lied to or trifled with. We need to make islamic forces fear what we ‘will’ do if agreements/treaties are not kept.
History has shown, time and again, that islam and those that follow it cannot be trusted.
Horatio says
This is so obvious that you have to question the motives of the negotiators.
OLD GUY says
Our American negotiators have to know the game Iran is and will be playing and should plan on how to respond to Irans breaking their word and the agreement. Strength and power is the only thing these leaders of Iran and islam know.

they fight to win

bad move to have humiliated Israel, and told the Iranians how to negotiate

disgusting actually to speak of a military and political ally in that way

When Atticus Finch looked down the little street in the Southern town, he watched the rabid dog approach. He sent his kids into the house, took the gun, removed his glasses….and began to talk to the dog.
He requested nicely for the dog not to bite anyone and asked, kindly, ‘Would you like a bowl of cool water”?
Had he done that, people would have taken him for a fool.

This information should be common knowledge by all American politicians. If it’s not they are simply lying or ignorant of history – both of the last 1,500 years and the especially the past 100.

Here’s a question I have: What has made the Persian nation the asshole nation of the world (a leading question I admit but this doesn’t mean it’s inaccurate)? No nation on Earth is more ridiculously unreliable and a pain-in-the ass than Persia. Even Russia, China, North Korea et al. don’t upset the world markets as well as creating overall geopolitical stability as Iran does.
And why I for one am completely fed up with ever being narrated to about how impressive the Persians are. No, they are not.
The Persians did almost nothing to advance mankind before 1979 (OK, the Achaemenid Dynasty founded by Cyrus had certain “capacities” but it too was nothing special as ancient Greece or ancient Rome were) and since 1979 Persia has been the turd in the punchbowl of nations. Hell, even the Arabs are sick of the Iranians, which speaks volumes in an of itself.
Please, no more about the Persian people being great or wonderful. They are pathetic and mankind would be better off without them. Yes, subtract the Persians from humanity and what would we be missing?
Look, I still wish these people well, I only asked a theoretical question, but the Persians have done diddly squat as a people compared to, say, the English, Americans, ancient Greeks, Chinese, etc. and over the past half century have “bestowed” upon the entire world the single most psychotic and destabilizing nation in the world. There is something deeply wrong with the Persians. Deeply and even uniquely wrong.

The moment islam was introduced by ‘Big Mo’ the cultures in that part of the world crumbled.
An example would be the Arabs. Prior to islam they were making advances in mathematics, medicine, etc. After islam all of their advances were gone.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Not quite. The Arabs were a non-entity before islam. They were just denizens of the deserts from Arabia to Syria
I also don’t quite agree w/ Wellington above. Cyrus the Great did come up w/ the Cyrus Cylinder, which was a catalog of human rights, and he did that independently of the Greeks, who he hadn’t come into contact w/ much (except the Ionian Greeks of Anatolia). So if both the Greeks & Persians independently pioneered concepts of freedom like democracy and human rights, one can credit both w/o dishonoring either
I also don’t quite agree w/ Wellington conflating pre-islamic Persians w/ islamic Iranians, for a bunch of reasons:
⮞ For most of its muslim history, Iran was a battlefield b/w different Turkish clans & warlords. In fact, if one assumes Robert Spencer’s conclusions about islam being put together by the Abbasids as accurate, then the first islamic dynasty to rule Iran was the Ghaznavids – a Turkish dynasty. Since then, every dynasty that has ruled Iran has been a Turkish one – Seljuqs, Khwarezmids, Aq Qoyunlu, Safavids, Afsharids, Hotaks and Qajars. The Pahlavis were the first ethnically Iranic dynasty to rule Iran. Only non-Turkish & non-muslim dynasty that ruled Iran in b/w was Hulegu Khan’s Ilkhanate, although that too morphed into a Turkish dynasty later
⮞ The successors of Cyrus – the Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanids – generally did fine ruling Persia itself. Although Persia was very much weakened after Alexander’s conquests. It’s just that Darius & Xerxes failed to defeat Athens/Sparta, and congratulations to the Greeks for holding their own. But they did temporarily lose Anatolia as a result
⮞ Cue to the 20th Century. In 1906, Iran first established a constitution, becoming the first muslim country to do so. It even preceded the revolution of the “Young Turks” in 1908. There was some resistance to it by the Qajar ruler, who tried to abolish it and bombed parliament w/ the support of both British and Russian troops, but he soon died, and there were attempts to restore it. In 1921, the Qajars were permanently replaced by the Pahlavis, who also restored the constitution and that constitution ran Iran and made it a pretty civilized country, until it was abrogated in 1979
⮞ As many have noted here, check out any photo or video reel of pre-1979 Iran. Like Afghanistan next door, it was a pretty civilized place, and they were a pretty civilized people. Unfortunately, they were still muslims, which would later come back to bite them, but they were more of the MINO type muslims. They were not a plague on the world then. In 1948, when Arab countries started expelling their Jews, Iraqi Jews fled to Iran, rather than Israel, since it seemed not just closer, but safer as well. In 1973, Iran was the sole holdout when Arab countries co-operated in the oil embargo against the West due to the latter’s support of Israel during the Yom Kippur war
I am an optimist on Iran, but their people will have to re-take the initiative and take on the IRGC/Basij again. Americans or Israelis can’t do it for them!

Why haven’t I heard yet from you about the motivations of Trump for this deal? What do you think is going on.
I think it is very simple. It is just depleted arms stockpiles, and depleted oil storage world wide. Nothing more.
I’ve been scouring on here for a good counter point but I haven’t seen it.

In that case, the US can itself pause the attacks while Israel continues them, sourcing them from other countries. Also, attempts to cripple the regime need not have been interrupted
Beans🫘 says
Infidel, I will give you a detailed analysis of the situation. I understand people do not have the time to analyze the military side of things and there is a ton of noise on the internet right now.
Here are the issues. Offensive weapons, such as bombs should NOT be an issue for Israel as long as they have a republican in office. Why? Because we can easily produce a steady stream of JDAM kits and gravity bombs. But the issue arises from capability. Essentially, all that matters at this point in the war is deep penetration ability. Only the USA has the capability deliver a bunker buster that can destroy or knock out a bunker for a significant amount of time. Israel, lacks a bomber force that can reliably deliver this rare weapon. The problem with this heavy bunker buster is that it is extremely rare and our own stockpile is down to a dozen….. you may ask, why don’t we have more. I won’t go into too much detail but the main issue is that this is considered a “boutique” weapon. It is hand assembled and takes an extraordinary amount of time to create with significant manufacturing bottlenecks.
Ok. Now Israel does have things it can do. It can disable the large vault doors, at least many of them in these large bunkers. But the issue is that as soon as they do this, Iran digs it back out at the same rate as they knock out other doors. And some of these doors are not accessible with bombs.
Here is the main problem, that cannot be fixed with purchases and that is existential danger for Israel. It is the air defense systems that can reliably take down ballistic missiles. Israel has used up 80 percent of these specific type of air defense missiles. But Iran at this point has 75 percent of its pre war ballistic missile stockpile dug back out. It is a game of cat and mouse Israel cannot win. Eventually Israel will run out of air defense to intercept ballistic missiles and then Iran can pick and choose the most sensitive targets. These systems, they take years to build and you cannot simply purchase them from anybody without a long wait time.
I won’t sit up here and pretend I did not support this war because I did and I do not regret it based on the available information.
There is another two major problems. One of these problems is Iran has been mostly launching its cheaper less advanced ballistic missiles to eat up allied air defense missiles. They are waiting to launch these accurate systems in mass once long range and mid range air defense missiles are at critical levels to debate sensitive targets.
Problem 2: There is another half of Iran that has been largely not touched by allied attacks. North east Iran has quiet bunkers which have not even been activated yet, and there is a lot of missing intelligence on these sites. They are further away and will be challenging to attack for Israel, it would be stretching the limits.
Now I do believe Israel can do a good job against drone attacks on the other hand because they can get help there and they have a robust production line of these to ward these attacks off.
Escalation ladder: So you may fairly ask, why does Israel not wipe out Irans oil industry, their power plants, this kind of stuff. Here is why. In war there is a concept of an escalation ladder. It is what it sounds to be. It is sort of an unofficial agreement between two parties, which is also sort of broken from time to time, but holds up until it doesn’t. It means they lay off certain targets so that these same targets do not get hit at home.
If Israel takes this step, Iran would launch waves of ballistic missiles not at random apartment buildings, but at water treatment plants, nuclear sites, ports, power plants. So it’s not worth it. If they go back to war, it is a waste of time. Israel cannot hit these bunkers if the the entire US air-force could not destroy them and they’ve been mostly dug back out…
These doom sayers, do not believe it. Israel has won a lot in this war. A lot. You can’t expect to win that big and knock out six foes all at once just by dropping bombs. But the Islamists have definitely been crippled everywhere you look. Israelis are really negative people, they should celebrate their accomplishments as should we.

Trusting Iran or Islam is like hand feeding a rattle snake. You’re going to get bit.
