Two separate incidents of Muslim mob attacks on Hindus reported from different parts of Gujarat during late May and early June have sparked major security concerns among Hindus. While police investigations are ongoing in both cases, the incidents have again highlighted that, regardless of the loud and misleading stories of phony victimhood that Muslims in Gujarat have been propagating since 2002, Muslims remain the single and uncontrolled source of all communal violence in the state.
A a Muslim mob brutally attacked Hindu family running a small tea stall in Gujarat’s Kheda district on June 7, barely days after another major incident of communal violence in Kutch district, where Hindu villagers alleged that a large group from a neighboring Muslim-majority village targeted them in a pre-planned assault.
Popatbhai, who has been running the shop for several years, told investigators that around 8 p.m. on Sunday, an intoxicated Muslim man, accompanied by a woman, entered the shop claiming that his friend was unwell, and asking for sugar. Popatbhai directed him to the sugar container and allowed him to take what he needed. However, after collecting the sugar, the man began tearing pages from the shop’s account ledger to use as wrapping paper.
When the shopkeeper requested the Muslim man not to damage the account book, he began abusing the shopkeeper and his wife. According to the family’s account, when they objected to the abuse, the man and the Muslim woman physically attacked them, tearing Popatbhai’s clothes and assaulting his wife.
The couple then left the shop, but the scene was far from being over. Shortly thereafter, they returned with a mob of around 10 to 12 individuals armed with sticks, clubs, and other weapons, who stormed the shop and resumed the assault.
According to the victims, one woman in the mob grabbed Popatbhai’s wife by the throat, covered her mouth, and repeatedly slapped her. The violence intensified when the family’s son-in-law arrived at the scene, and the rabid mob struck him on the head with a sharp weapon, leaving him with a serious head injury. After receiving treatment at a hospital in Nadiad, he was eventually discharged, though he was reportedly still recovering from the attack.
Family members stated that despite desperate pleas to spare him because he had young children, the attackers threatened to kill everyone present. Popatbhai’s daughter was also beaten when she attempted to intervene and sustained severe injuries on her face. The family recounts how the infant she was holding in her arms was thrown into the air. The baby narrowly escaped death after landing on a mattress inside the shop.
An FIR has been registered against Reshmabanu Ferozsha Diwan, Razzaksha Ferozsha Diwan, Arifali Sabirali Sayed, Mustaksha Ferozsha Diwan, and Nasirsha Zhakirsha Diwan under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Justice Code, India’s principal criminal code). Police have already arrested four accused, and further investigation is underway.
Speaking after the attack, the victim family alleged that the violence was part of a broader effort to intimidate Hindus living in the area, and had been ongoing for some time. According to another local youth, a group of Muslims living near his agricultural land deliberately threw Chinese kite string into Hindu-owned fields during Makar Sankranti earlier this year. When he objected, they stabbed him in the back with a large knife. The injury reportedly damaged his kidney and required extensive medical treatment.
The Kheda incident comes just days after another major outbreak of violence in Raydhanpar village in Gujarat’s Kutch district. On the night of May 30, Hindu youths gathered on the outskirts of Raydhanpar were dragged into an argument with Muslim men, including Salim, Abu Sufiyan, Sahil, Abbas, and Sameer, from neighboring Varnora village. According to complainant Darshan Baradiya, the dispute escalated into a physical altercation before the group departed and returned shortly after with more men in a Bolero vehicle and attempted to run over villagers gathered at the scene. Although the villagers escaped, the vehicle crashed into a parked motorcycle.
Soon, a large Muslim mob armed with sticks, iron pipes, stones, and other weapons arrived from Varnora village, riding motorcycles and other vehicles. According to the First Information Report (FIR), before launching the attack, the mob tampered with the electricity infrastructure and cut power to the entire village.
Under the cover of darkness, the rioters threw stones at Hindu residents and homes throughout Raydhanpar. Several villagers, including Darshan Baradiya and Rajesh Chavda, sustained injuries. Police teams that arrived to restore order also came under attack. Multiple police vehicles, including Local Crime Branch vehicles, were damaged, and one police officer was injured. The police registered a FIR against 23 named accused and several unidentified individuals, including charges of attempt to murder. Kutch West SP Vikas Sunda confirmed that the police detained around 23 attackers that same night and took further action.
With two serious incidents occurring within days of each other in different parts of Gujarat, concerns have intensified among Hindu residents and local organizations regarding Muslim mobs’ targeted violence. Investigations into both cases remain ongoing, with police continuing to gather evidence and pursue legal action against those accused.

The latter has moved Leftwards – promising freebies in every election, while promoting caste-based DEI at every level and even looking at pushing it into the private sector. All the left-leaning secular opposition – Congress, AAP, TMC, DMK….. are coming apart, so that India is in danger of becoming a one-party state
Which is the case w/ Gujarat above, which since 1995 has only have BJP governments. The other problem w/ that state is that they idolize Gandhi, who was one of their own, even though as a population, they are one of the least secular states in India. But in the 00s, after the Godhra riots, muslims used to be afraid of doing much, but that fear is totally gone. It’s time for a new Right-leaning Hindu political party to emerge and replace the BJP here, and in some other states like Maharashtra and Rajasthan, where they have been doing a mediocre job
