Media Mourns Defeat of Iran’s Soccer Team

You can’t even tell if a story is written by Iranians or the media.

The media has gotten to the point where you can’t tell if a story had been written by Iranian or American and British mainstream media. The only obvious difference would be that the Iranian outlets would probably have mentioned Allah more.

And that will change within 5 years or so as the media here becomes even more Islamized.

Take the AP story about Iran’s World Cup loss that makes it pretty clear that what used to be one of the defining organizations of the mainstream media is rooting for Iran as if it were the home team.

Iran has been eliminated from the World Cup, narrowly failing to advance past the group stage in a politically charged tournament where the team played its matches amid tight restrictions imposed by the United States.

Iran missed the round of 32 by one spot in heartbreaking fashion.

…It was one last painful moment for Iran in a World Cup that’s been tumultuous, on and off the pitch.

…The U.S. and Israel began the war on Feb. 28 by attacking Iran, which retaliated with attacks in the region and by asserting control over the Strait of Hormuz…

“We were treated very, very badly,” Ghalenoei said after Friday’s draw with Egypt left the Iranians clinging to hope they would get to the next round. “I hope the world becomes aware of these issues.”

The AP, mind you, is not even as bad as it gets. The Guardian insists on trying to turn the team of a Jihadist state that has tortured and murdered tens of thousands of its own people, not to mention numerous Brits, and that calls for the conquest of the non-Muslim world, as a combination of Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth and Jim Thorpe.

They were delayed by security checks at airports, turning what should have been quick trips into several-hour ordeals. Outside US stadiums, they were greeted with protests, mostly driven by other Iranians. Even in the hours before they played the most crucial match in their history on Friday, news broke that the US had launched a fresh round of bombings on their homeland, with a supposed ceasefire in action.

How should a team manage this unprecedented state of affairs? According to Taremi, the answer was simple: “Run,” he demanded of his team before a 0-0 draw with Belgium. Run, and play without fear.

One can quibble with the technical quality of Iran’s players in their three-draw performance at this World Cup, but they certainly ran. Team Melli flew headlong into challenges, aggressively closed down passing lanes, threw themselves at anything that even looked like it might eventually make it towards their goal. Iran played tough, but fair. They won fans from Mexico to Seattle, and between those major efforts and their self-applied label as the “most oppressed” team in the tournament, it wasn’t hard to see why.

Islamic terrorists operate in an exciting space in which they hardly need to do their own propaganda because leftists are lined up around the block to do it for them.
