Many Muslims regard Hitler as a hero. Those who think this is an “Islamophobic conspiracy theory” simply haven’t been paying attention. There was a Hitler clothing store in Gaza. Mein Kampf was a perennial bestseller in Turkey and Egypt. Many Muslims have expressed admiration for Hitler in public fora. And so that is likely part of the outrage here, but also, these students likely want Johnny Cole and William Diamond Middle School to admit that the Holocaust was nothing compared to what the “Palestinians” have gone through at the hands of the Jews. This idea is fictional, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t pushing it hard, and Cole is showing sympathy to their point of view.

Sarcasm off. As a history teacher, I cover the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind. I also point out that the “scular humanists” have nothing to be smug about, for the 20th century alone wracked up 169,000,000 or so killed by their governments in the names of humanity, social justice, and scientific progress (to say nothing of the “dignity” of a wronged nation). And, I point out, that Erich Mielke, head of the late, unlamented German Democratik Republic’s state security, said that he would not have given the order to shoot to kill would-be escappes had he not been a humanist.

It looks like the Muslim parents and students are receiving a lot of perks, lot of power from the sympathy they have accumulated in these areas. They do not want to share this and got very upset when the Jewish historical victim hood was shown.
In other words, 40 thousand Gazan deaths, who are mostly Hamas terrorists, and the rest accidental are more important and bigger victims than the Jews murdered in holocaust concentration camps.
In the contrary, these students and teachers want the lessons to be changed to present the Jews as the evil doers, just like Muhammad taught them. They are bringing their Islamic teachings and pushing out traditional history which we teach.
Might I add, I believe Israel sucks. Only 40,000? Israelis are far too gentle in my humble opinion.

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics claims that 73,259 Hazans were “martyred” in the recent war. Their figures include natural deaths, which totalled approx 5,500 in Gaza in 2022, so 2 years x 5,500 = 11.000, bringing it down to 62,259. They awarded 50,000 war widows’ pensions after the war, and, whilst Muslims are allowed more than one wife, it doesn’t seem to be customary in Gaza (Yahya Sinwar had only one wife – I think they are wedded to jihad) so if we take 50,000 from 62,259, the civilians killed total 12,259.
This means that, if Gaza is deemed to be worse than the Holocaust, then one Muslim must be worth 500 Jewish people, or 80 Armenian Christians if Gaza is worse than the Armenian Genocide.

Even before all this madness of ignoring or denying the Holocaust History taught in our schools almost completely ignored the first half of the 20th Century.
Here’s a challenge: Ask any young adult two questions:
(1) When was WWll? (half of them will answer – You mean there were two of them?)
(2) Who were we fighting against in WWll?
You’ll be surprised at the answers.
A few years ago on Jeopardy! the three contestants (who know everything including the square root of the distance between Mars and Neptune) were asked “when was the Battle of Britain?” Not one of them even ventured a guess. (BTW it was 1940).
If western society forgets the Holocaust what does it find worthy of remembering? Very scary future to be sure;
