It’s a test. And it always ends the same way.
Islamic terrorists don’t negotiate to reach a particular outcome. What they do, over and over again, is negotiate to extract concessions from the negotiating process.
If a deal ends up being negotiated, they violate it, dare us to notice, and if we don’t, they realize we’re weak, they build up their capacity and attack. Then they start negotiations again with an escalated set of demands.
If however we put up any kind of resistance to just giving them everything they want or they have no intention of even pretending to reach a deal, then they take the process of negotiations hostage and start extracting concessions based on agreeing to negotiate.
This is the worst kind of sucker bait there is because what the terrorists do is blow up the process and then demand concessions before any kind of deal is made to return to the table.
In the latest example, Iran wanted its Hezbollah terrorist proxies in Lebanon to be able to attack Israel, without Israel being able to attack the terrorists in turn, not as part of a final deal, but just to stay at the table.
This is a typical example of taking the negotiations process hostage. It’s a test. And as we’ve already seen, Iran will keep testing to see what it can get.
Typical terrorist demands for negotiations like these are “I can hit you, you can’t hit me”. That’s because the terrorists know we care about negotiations and they don’t. So they can make one-sided demands.
Falling into their trap lets us be taken hostage and is a mistake.
It’s unfortunate that we keep making this mistake despite having experienced this same sort of thing for decades… including Iran seizing our sailors and broadcasting their capture while Obama frantically tried to appease them. That’s not where we’re at, but that’s where it leads to and we should be aware of it.
The takeaway is there’s no point in negotiating with Islamic terrorists. It’s a humiliation ritual. Either attack them or don’t. But negotiating with them is the long way around to encouraging more attacks. And in this case it also deepens the IRGC’s grip over Iran.
All of this also holds true for all negotiations with Islamic terrorists, whether it’s the Taliban or the PLO, it all ultimately ends the same way, in concessions being exploited for more terrorist attacks.

And now comes the most important question, that is: What is the duty today on the Muslim as regards these treaties?
The answer:
(1) The first duty is to firmly believe in their invalidity and that because they contain invalid conditions they were born dead the very day they were given birth to; because it is not lawful for the Muslim to conclude an agreement with the unbeliever for abandoning jihad and abrogating this religious duty, nor for giving up hostility towards the Jews and affirming love and amity for them; for this is leaving the millah. These treaties also contain provisions making it incumbent to screen out such Ayahs of the Quran and ahadith (statements) of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on him, that declare this enmity towards the Jews.
This undertaking constitutes a collusion with the unbelievers for concealing the Deen and knowledge and for suspending the Ayahs of the noble Quran and ahadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on him, that explain the essence of obligatory relationship with the Jews; and this in fact is driving the Muslims out of Islam and stripping the Ummah of its belief and history.
And since these treaties contain such conditions and stipulate them clearly, they are therefore invalid and it is not lawful for the Muslim to believe in them.

We can already see in Iran how the bulk of the population has abandoned islam for alternate beliefs. In Indonesia, fealty to islam has been slackening. In the subcontinent, unfortunately, it’s still going strong. That then leaves the MENA countries
Now, from the context of Iran, the islamic world is split on it. Except the Palis and shi’a Arabs, most Arabs worldwide are ho-hum about this. I haven’t followed reactions from the East Indies, so not sure about them. The only countries whose people have been supportive of Iran have been Pakistan and Bangladesh, as well as Indian muslims. The Taliban has learnt its lesson and is careful to restrict its barbarity to Afghanistan and at most Pakistan, but careful not to upset the US again by hosting foreign jihadists like they did in the 90s
So once we filter for all that, it’s not 2 billion muslims we have to worry about: that number would be more like 700 million from about 7 countries, as opposed to 50. Much easier to filter than the “muslim ban” proposal circa 2015
