A murder suspect in connection with the 2025 death of a Eustis woman has been returned to Lake County custody after being extradited from federal custody on an immigration warrant.
The body of Monica Islam was found in Mount Dora on May 2, 2025, after her daughter reported her missing.
A search of Shahidul’s car uncovered disturbing evidence: a shattered passenger window, a projectile lodged in the door, and bloodstains that matched Monica’s DNA.
It’s believed Shahidul Islam fled to New York shortly after Monica Islam’s death. Detectives say a search of his car turned up blood stains that resulted in a presumptive match to Islam’s DNA.
Detectives believe an ongoing dispute over some property in their home country of Bangladesh was a motive in the killing. They learned there was an incident in 2024 where Monica Islam’s husband, Rashedul Islam, hit her and stole jewelry and property documents, while Shahidul, Rashedul’s brother, held a gun to her head and told her not to call 911.
Detectives say Rashedul Islam has also allegedly fled the country and has not returned.
While Rashedul Islam was able to get away, Shahidul Islam (meaning martyr for Allah) was caught on a warrant because he had been previously deported.
Due to being previously deported and reentering the country illegally, Shahidul has been in federal immigration custody for the past year, Sgt. James Vachon, with the Lake County Sheriff’s office, confirmed.
If it were up to open borders lefties, Islam would have gotten away with it too and would have been back in Bangladesh already.

Mt. Dora is a very nice, quiet, picturesque little town. Lots of trees and water and friendly people.
On the other hand, this ugly creep has no business being there. Florida has the death penalty for a good reason and the State leads in executions of those found guilty of such crimes as this slug and his brother have committed.

Forgive me if I’m a little blunt and not politically correct, but how the hell did so many millions of Muslims come to America in such a short period of time? I don’t understand how Americans are so blind that they don’t grasp such a simple fact that if you let Muslims enter your country, they come to conquer, not assimilate, and as soon as they take control, the original inhabitants are wiped out.
