Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Concern about Sharia in the U.S. is just ‘anti-Muslim hate’ and a ‘witch hunt’

Here is yet another in a seemingly endless string of establishment media articles characterizing all opposition to Sharia in the U.S. as “hate” and “bigotry,” and misrepresenting Sharia as simply private religious law that has nothing to do with non-Muslims and is no threat to them. Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others are Sharia states, and they all deny basic rights to non-Muslims and women. Yet media wonks writing for the U.S. establishment organs all consistently ignore that fact and pretend, as is stated here, that “Sharia Law is a set of religious principles for Muslims to follow.” No hint of the fact that those “religious principles” include an imperative to wage war against and subjugate non-Muslim societies, and permission to beat women and make infidel women into sex slaves, and on and on. Without these piquant details, opposition to Sharia does indeed look like simple bigotry, and the fact that the establishment media routinely leaves out those details shows up its propagandistic agenda.

Also, it’s bitterly ironic that this article leads off with sob stories about people being rude to Muslims. It’s a shame these incidents happened, if they happened, but meanwhile, Islamic jihadis are murdering Christians on nearly a daily basis in Nigeria. Compared to that and a supposedly nasty fifth-grade teacher, I’ll take the teacher. The fact that Maven Navarro of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram can’t find (and should not be able to find) any incidents of Muslims actually being physically attacked or brutalized in the U.S. is testimony to the fact that they do not face widespread discrimination or harassment in the U.S. Nor should they do so. I’m sure the Christians in Nigeria would be grateful if all they had to endure was someone calling them names.

Mohammed Ayachi was 3 when the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred. In fifth grade, he was asked by a teacher how many mothers he had. Now an entrepreneur, he says he gets strange looks when he tells his customers his name.

Fatima Khan, who wears a hijab, was eating at a pizza restaurant with her family when they were approached by a man cursing and screaming at them.

Aftab Siddiqui was called a terrorist and told to “go back home.” He has lived in Texas for 30 years.

Muslim Texans say they have felt anti-Muslim hate since 9/11, but that it has risen significantly from politicians running their campaigns from an anti-Muslim viewpoint.

“They just want everybody to get gung ho and go after a witch hunt. This is basically just the Salem witch trials all over again,” Ayachi said.

Ali Anwar was at a local Republican Party meeting that featured a speech from Mayes Middleton, the Republican candidate for Texas attorney general. On May 4, Middleton put out an advertisement called “No Sharia in Texas,” where he said that he would outlaw Sharia Law.

Sharia Law is a set of religious principles for Muslims to follow. During the meeting, Anwar asked Middleton several specific questions regarding his policies on Sharia Law.

“I asked him, ‘Hey, what is this policy about traditional family values?’ He said that we support heterosexual relationships. I asked him about the explicit materials in the library books, and he said that we’re against it. So I kept asking him questions about abortion. He said that we’re against abortion,” Anwar said. “So I said, ‘You know that Sharia — that you are against, and trying to ban — also supports all of these points that you just stated.’”

Texas Attorney General and Senate candidate Ken Paxton also ran on an anti-Muslim campaign by filing a lawsuit against the Council of American-Islamic Relations, investigations into the Islamic Tribunal and ran ads accusing his opponent, Sen. John Cornyn, of supporting “Muslim mass immigration.”…

  1. The problem is not that the Muslim religion supports the same principals about abortions and heterosexual relationships and or family values, or published material in our schools in favor of homosexuals.
    It is that there is much, much more in the Quaran that is required under Sharia Law that we as a nation and our laws under our Constitution cannot except that take those principals way beyond of our legal system. Which we would consider cruel and unusual punishment.
    1. On Abortions, our objection to abortion is that all human beings deserve a right to live. Does the Jewish baby deserve the right to live under Sharia Law? If so, then the killing of the babies on 7 October 2023 in the attack on the Jewish nation Israel should be condemned by every Muslim. A baby in the womb and a baby that is 1 year old or 5 years old is still a baby. The Terrorist that attacked the farms and villages in Israel on 7 October 2023 took babies hostage and killed them. And they also killed some of the babies by putting them in an oven and turning the oven on. Baking the baby to death.

    2. The sin of Homosexuality. In the U.S. a homosexual is not thrown off high-rise buildings. Or hung from large construction Cranes like they do in Iran. Just because they are a homosexual. No, under our Constitutional Law, the homosexual in the U.S.A. is not killed because he or she is a homosexual. And people that have killed a homosexual have been arrested and tried for murder under our U.S. Constitution. Under Sharia Law, depending upon the country the homosexual lives in the punishment for being a homosexual range from imprisonment, to flogging, or both, to death.

    3. As per family values. Under Sharia Law a child can be killed if the child dishonors the family name. Under U.S. Constitutional Law, the killing of a child for dishonoring the family name is MURDER.

  3. I recall some years ago, a young female muzzie made the news when she claimed that some pickup guy was after her, calling her names and threatening her. In Texas. It was proven to be a hoax.
    And the other female muzzie, claimed that three rednecks pulled off her scarf and threatened her…on the subway, but it was all made up because she had disobeyed her father and didn’t want his punishment.

    And the two females in a grocery store….hoax….who said a ‘redneck’ told them to go back home.

    And the young girl who claimed some White guy attacked her with scissors to cut off her scarf. Hoax and got a lot of attention.
    And the student who claimed the same about her teacher because she had on a hoodie pulled low.. And the university student who had found phobia insults….he had done it to himself….on his dorm door.

    And on and on….it could fill a book if someone wrote down all of the hoaxes mussies have pulled.in order to gain sympathy and power over overs.

    It’s nauseating. Like smelling dead rats in the attic.

    Stupid reporter does not know how to ask good questions or just doing enough to appear impartial without bringing up any serious issues having to do with sharia. I think it is the latter.

  6. Concern about Sharia in the U.S. is NOT just ‘anti-Muslim hate’ and a ‘witch hunt’.

    Sharia contains laws, norms and behaviours that are contrary to Western liberal democracies (or republics).

    For example, the Qur’an contains justification under divine law for Muslim husbands to beat disobedient wives (4.34) or rape their non-consenting wife as they wish (2.223), which are behaviours contrary to human-made domestic law in most, if not all, Western countries.

    Muhammed was a pedophile according to authenticated Muslim Hadiths. Muhammed was betrothed to Aisha when she was six and consumated the marriage when she was nine and he was in his fifties. Yet the Qur’an claims Muhammed is the perfect example of a man (33.21). Do Muslims support child marriage because Muhammed did it; he being the perfect example to follow? Or do those living in the West comply with human-made domestic law in most Western countries and reject child marriage, and in so doing, reject the example of Muhammed (and by implication reject that apect of the Qur’an that suggests Muhammed was perfect)?

    There are numerous examples where Sharia is incompatible with international law, humanitarian law, and other human-made laws. This includes Muslim laws under Sharia with respect to apostates, non-Muslim believers or homosexuals.

    Concern about laws contained in Sharia is not just ‘anti-Muslim hate’. It is a valid recognition that the values of Islam are incompatible with a free society.

    And continue efforts by the media in the West to downplay or rationalise the incompatibility of Sharia with the norms, values and behaviours of the West raises the suspicion that the media is either ignorant about Islam, or complicit with Islam.

  7. And the many thousands of slurs, sneers, assaults BY muslims against Jews ( and others ) in America, Europe, Australia, the middle east means nothing to those who pen such articles.
    The deaths of so many, the injuries to so many BY muslims, in the name of Islam means nothing because the turnspeak of muslims is to cry boo hoo and how you make us saaaaadd. And the truth is exactly the opposite.

And what do you republicans gain please answer? You will only lose Texas and other states because you did not listen to Muslims. I believe every non muslim in my country knows the danger of Islam, although not all of them think muslims will wipe them out once the Islamists take control the country and implement the shariah law. But all of non muslims realize that some muslims are ready attacking them when they have chance.
    So, no non muslims in my country will say those who are anti Islam are Islamophobia and doing witch hunt or whatever. The non muslims will take position either fighting Islam (whether openly or not) or appeasing Islam (the real cowards).

  17. Many Americans have swallowed this garbage. I saw a story out of Michigan recently where a woman at a public pool complained about a few women wearing burquinis and the gym instead kicked her out. And many of the comments about her were nasty, saying conservatives complain about lack of modesty (although I wonder how modest you can be at a pool) and that we’re hypocrites, she’s a karen,etc. Too many Americans, especially in places like Michigan, have been brainwashed.

In the US the $Billions from the likes of Qatar and the other oil rich ME countries plus CAIR are ‘doing its job’ to brainwash the public and ignore the FACTS about this religion, their hatred and sanctioned criminal behaviors.     • A female heir inherits half of what a male heir inherits (see Mathematics in Quran).
    • A woman cannot speak alone to a man who is not her husband or relative.
    • Meat to eat must come from animals that have been sacrificed to Allah – i.e., be “Halal.”
    • Muslims should engage in Taqiyya and lie to non-Muslims to advance Islam.
