BREAKING: Turkish President Erdogan:
Türkiye’s security begins not only in Hatay, but also in Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut.
We will not tolerate any fait accompli in our brotherly nations, nor will we turn a blind eye to aggression against them. pic.twitter.com/65gv0Bn22e

Erdogan is suggesting that he will respond to Israeli defensive actions in Lebanon, and will defend al-Sharaa’s jihadist regime in Damascus, out of a concern for Turkey’s “brotherly nations.” He also, however, has imperialistic designs on those “brotherly nations,” as part of his larger vision of restoring the Ottoman caliphate and re-occupying the territories it once controlled. He said in 2018: “We say at every opportunity we have that Syria, Iraq and other places in the geography [map] in our hearts are no different from our own homeland. We are struggling so that a foreign flag will not be waved anywhere where adhan [Islamic call to prayer in mosques] is recited.” He wants to unite all Muslims worldwide into his caliphate. So of course he will declare his determination to defend Syria and Lebanon. He will defend Syria and Lebanon the way a fox defends the henhouse.

Given that Iran has made a mockery of the military capabilities of Iran, it would be interesting to see how Turkey fares. Somehow, I doubt that Ahmad al-Shara’a would be that interested in being the casualty in a shootout b/w Ankara & Jerusalem, the way his predecessor was b/w Israel and the islamic republic. Particularly when his country, rather than Turkey, will be the battlefield. Not that he cares about his country, but he’d certainly care about his regime, and it not going the way of Assad’s
But if a battle does break out b/w Turkey & Israel in Syria, it would be fascinating to see NATO’s response. I’d suspect that no NATO country, no matter how anti-Jerusalem their rhetoric or even diplomatic actions, would want to go as far as getting into war w/ them – not even ones like Spain, Ireland or Norway! At which point, Ankara, hopefully, would throw a hissy fit, pick up their marbles and go back home i.e. finally withdraw from NATO and somewhat reduce its farcical attributes

No NATO country – in Europe – would dare go up against Israel’s IDF / IAF.
You muck with Israel and you muck with the best.

I don’t see how anyone can call Erdogan an ally since he fully backs the Muslim terrorists hamas/ hezbullah and we are their enemies. Turkey in NATO has become an oxymoron, NATO nations have become paper tigers.
