In the Netherlands, the number of Islamic schools continues to rise, and Dutch taxpayers are paying for much of that expansion. As of 2025, those taxpayers were spending, on Muslim primary schools alone, 145 million euros. The amount spent on Islamic secondary schools has not yet been made public. The Netherlands is spending millions of euros each year on a rapidly expanding network of Islamic schools, even as concerns grow over integration, foreign influence, and the emergence of a new religious pillar within Dutch society.
More than 20,000 pupils were attending Islamic primary schools in the Netherlands at the beginning of 2025, with the number continuing to rise, according to NieuwRechts.
Between 2009 and 2019, enrolment in Islamic primary schools increased by 60%. In the following five years, it rose by a further 23%. Nine new Islamic primary schools are expected to open in 2026, bringing the total to more than 100 nationwide. Islamic secondary schools are also expanding rapidly….
Concerns about these institutions have grown in recent years. Dutch intelligence and security services have warned that foreign governments, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, have sought influence through funding for mosques, Islamic schools, and informal educational programmes. Those concerns helped prompt legislation aimed at restricting foreign influence in religious institutions, although the Dutch Senate ultimately rejected the proposal.
One wonders why the Dutch Senate voted down such a proposal to prevent foreign governments from funneling money to mosques and madrasas in the Netherlands. Was there fear that those who supported such legislation would then be accused of “racism” and “Islamophobia”? Or was money from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait used to influence the legislators?
Critics also point to the role of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has long advocated the gradual Islamisation of society and the establishment of states governed by Sharia law. They argue that publicly funded Islamic institutions can, even unintentionally, provide an environment in which such ideas gain influence.
If the Dutch want Muslim migrants to assimilate into the larger society, then they should cease their financial support for schools that teach young Muslims precisely the opposite — that they should remain aloof from the society created by the Infidels whose views and values they so despise.
The Dutch senators should reconsider the bill, that they previously rejected, to prohibit foreign funding of mosques and Islamic schools. It is particularly worrisome that the biggest foreign funder of Islamic schools in the Netherlands is Saudi Arabia, where Wahabi fundamentalism prevails. Furthermore, the senators should reject their own government’s funding of Islamic schools whose teachings both increase Muslim isolation from the larger society, and decrease the level of social cohesion. Once Dutch voters learn what is in the curriculum of such schools, that inculcate hostility, and even hatred, of non-Muslims, they will undoubtedly pressure their representatives in the States General to end all public funding of Islamic schools. Why should the Dutch pay for schools whose pupils are taught to hate and despise them?

This is a good reminder that many Conservatives Christians throughout the United States are very much in favor of a government school voucher system that would fund parents to send their children to the private school , religious or non-religious, which the parents chose .
It seems that they don’t realize that Muslim fathers and mothers would gladly use such a voucher system to send their children to islamic schools in the youth are mind programed into believing in all the doctrines of Islam including that of the violent and deadly jihad.

Walter, Islam isn’t a religion. It just uses it as cover. No Islam schools should be allowed. It is the same as a communist school being opened at the height of the Cold War.
It’s a radical ideology that wants to take over. Religion is the only place that radical ideology could hide and spread.
