What could possibly go wrong? The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, must have the best interests of America and the free world at heart, right? These sterling individuals couldn’t possibly have any other motive, right? It’s inconceivable that they might not want to be associated with the downfall of an Islamic Republic, even a Shi’ite one, right? And they wouldn’t put the possible fallout in the Islamic world over their alliance with the United States, would they?
And so the Islamic Republic looks as if it has a good chance to remain in power. Again, what could possibly go wrong?

muzzies all. And muzzies are enemies of Freedom….of conscience, speech, dress, conduct, and religion. They are “allies” only of each other….sometimes. And “great leaders” only in their own delusional imaginations.

Iran is only pretending to negotiate so they have the time to build some nuclear bombs.
Trump should tell these Gulf states that if Iran does get a nuke, they are paying. All their oil belongs to Israel and the US.

If by Iran you mean the islamic regime, it’s no longer a single entity. There are several warring factions: it’s like Game of Thrones out there.

I do think that he believes in sowing chaos and disinformation during wartime to confound our enemies, which is why I tend to ignore all his posts related to the war. However, what he has done in the meantime is confound us, if not our allies (assuming that we have secret channels to the leaders of these countries agreeing on ulterior moves)
A few months ago, I did think what Robert did – that none of Iran’s Arab neighbors wanted the regime to fall for a bunch of reasons:
⮞ They are aware that the Iranian people have been abandoning islam, not just the Twelver sect, and picking any alternative – Atheist, Deist, Agnostic, Zoroastrian, Christian, Jewish….. If a secular, democratic regime, like say Pahlavi 2 took over, then it would be an even greater Nakba than Israel in 1948: islam would have lost Iran back to Zoroastrianism once Iranians are free to try it out
⮞ Once Iran de-islamizes, then much like Lebanon in the 1950s and 1960s, when Beirut was the Paris of the Middle East, Iran would become the new Switzerland of West-Central Asia, and very attractive to foreign investors who’d like a foothold b/w Israel and India. Right now, they’re fine w/ the Emirates, but still are somewhat inhibited about how they act when their people are in that country. Once Iran gets liberated, a lot of the investment, and even more so tourism, would go to Iran, given its rich pre-islamic history. At a time when the Saudis and Emiratis have been trying to boost tourism to their own countries, the last thing they’d want would be to see Iran steal all that attention
All that said, I do think that drone attacks on Qatar and the Emirates by loose cannons within the islamic regime (just like there were “Kremlinologists” during the Cold War in our foreign policy establishment, there may as well be “islamologists” there now to decode who’s calling the shots in Iran at any time after a known head honcho gets bumped off, be it by Israelis or Iranians themselves) has angered Doha and Abu Dhabi enough that they too want to see the regime in Iran destroyed, even if it is their last hope of seeing Iran remain islamic, if not muslim. Which is why I very much doubt POTUS’ claim that those countries are asking the US to delay any attacks. I think it may be an attempt to get the IRGC to think that no attack is forthcoming, so that they don’t let their guard down and continue to operate openly, and suddenly they get bombed – maybe by the Israelis, while the US still honors the ceasefire. Or it may be an attempt to get restive elements within the IRGC that want the fighting to resume to pre-emptively lash out against the US troops there
But while waiting it out may sound intelligent in terms of military operations, it is rocking the global economy by making oil/gas less available, particularly since Qatari and Emirati production has been hit by the IRGC. Which is why the sooner this wraps up, the better for the world

We used up half of our interceptors. We will be forced to withdraw from the region very soon or chose to empty them out and risk China.
The drones will just keep coming, missiles too as Iran’s has pretty much dug out the deep bunker entrances. Drones are cheap and plentiful. Most of Irans stuff is untouched and unused, in the other half of the nation, it hasn’t been bombed, those bunkers are not launching, they’re just storage.
Yea, the global economy will not be able to sustain this much longer, Iran knows it. But I think they will go through with this all the way. To empty every interceptor, and symbolically wipeout our empty bases. When the interceptors are gone, we obviously won’t be there any longer.
After that I think it dies down more so than any peace deal if we are forced to retreat. They’ll be a new silent arrangement between the gulf and Iran, specifically with charging tolls. If they refuse to pay, Iran can just keep sending cheap drones to hit shit.
Trump is in a pickle in this one. If you wipe out their oil and electric grid, they have Nothing to lose any longer, and will keep launching because who cares. Use up all the interceptors, and then it’s open targets.
Navy will have to retreat as well, into the Indian Ocean and plan from there.
But hopefully Trump makes a deal before stage 2 kicks in. Interceptors will run out pretty quickly. Regional withdrawal plans are already drawn up just in case.

Pahlavi was Muslim
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Yeah, the father was. But Reza Pahlavi – the current figure whose name Iranians chant – has committed to a secular, democratic Iran. He has, among other things, attended Zoroastrian ceremonies in Houston, and also committed to the rights of Atheists, Agnostics and LGBTQ (hope he draws the line b/w not murdering them vs exposing them to kids). Also, he’d change the monarchy succession laws to allow daughters, not just sons, to succeed their parents as shah/shahbano
In response to questions, he has said that it’s a purely personal, private matter, but that he is a shi’a muslim. I do agree w/ other posters that that’s a disappointing answer, but to be fair to him, I don’t expect a 65 year old man to suddenly decide to embrace Zoroastrianism, but I do hope his successors – his daughter – embraces something else. But more important is the fact that a majority of Iranians are now apostates: it’s just a question of magnitude. That is what’s going to ensure the success of a future Iran, not whether or not the Pahlavis themselves apostatize

The Gulf Arab oil states are cowardly and do not dare to confront Iran militarily despite possessing a massive arsenal of weapons. This is why these countries asked President Trump to postpone any military action against Iran, fearing Iranian retaliation.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
While on one hand that seems to be the case, both Qatar and Emirates had declared war on Iran weeks ago. The Emiratis even did an operation of sorts a few days ago after one of their production facilities were hit
I therefore don’t take the president’s truths at face value, particularly when he’s on record as saying that he’s not going to telegraph our plans to our enemies
Beans🫘 says
Their gulf countries will be easily destroyed by Iran. They are in a terrible position, they accomplish nothing if they attack Iran.
Their water desalination plants would be knocked out, and there’s no water. Their refineries are open targets easily destroyed.
They are already low on interceptors, as are we. Once that is emptied out, cheap drones will mop up everything in sight at will. The storage spaces for those drones and missiles are indestructible, but have been damaged. They simply dig out the rubble and continue on.
In this age of war, if you run out of interceptors, you are finished. High value targets can be hit accurately with cheap cheap systems.
The Hormuz closing by Iran basically shuts down their entire economy. Iran controls the Hormuz completely., nothing will change that other than a peace deal. The gulf states have no chips to play. Only Trump does. Gas should hit 6 bucks if we attack, and that’s just for the price in a month. Oil storage is being depleted world wide.
The clock is ticking. They need to wait trump out, elections are around the corner. He needs 3 months to stabilize somewhat gas prices before election.
Trumps last card is the threat of economic destruction of Iran. If and when that happens, there is nothing to negotiate any more. The Hormuz will just be closed for good, and that is the end of Qatar, Kuwait, the global economy. It’s tough for Trump. I hope he pulls a miracle and gets that uranium out of there. Otherwise, it’s better to let this go.

Let’s hope and pray that God President Trump the wisdom and strength to disregard the advice of Crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and the ,jihad funding, Emir of Qatar as well as the words of the UCA, because none of those Islamic countries are genuine friends of the United States.
For when it comes to the subject of the United States with her war against that of dangerous and menacing Islamic tyranny of Iran. There should be no negotiations whatsoever with the representatives of that Islamic regime, because they and the despots who head that horrendous Islamic tyranny are lairs and will have no intention of keeping their promise on anything that they might sign. Such a printed “peace agreement wouldn’t be worth the paper that it’s printed on.
Therefore, it’s best to finish the job, as in “Get it over with ‘by eliminating that horrific tyrannical regime, once and for all. As it had been, rightly and wisely. “Half-measures in war is madness and folly.”
In addition, President Trump had used the word “Lunatic” when referring to those in charge and power of that hostile Islamic tyranny of Iran. Lunatics are irrational, in their case they are irrational because of the blind unquestioning fanatical in a doctrine of Islam of a future coming of an Islamic messiah who has the title of the Mahdi.
That Mahdi they believe will come and conquer the entire world for Islam but only when in Iran and the Middle East and the whole word gets worst, not better. Therefore, by their own faulty Islamic worldview “reasoning” they would have no incentive to have honest negotiations about not going nuclear, as in not obtaining nuclear weapons. Neither would they want to stop arming with deadly weapons to murderous Muslim terrorist entities, as Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi which are that Islamic regime’s stooge terror/ murder groups.
Lunatic cannot be reason with such dangerous characters will not respond to logic. So those deluded madmen and their regime need to and must and should be eliminated by force, once and for all.
For the sake and safety and security of America, the other Western countries, for Israel, and for all the civilized nations of the world.
David M says
By that logic the US has to go after North Korea next. Would you happy for that? Trump just needs to get out of there. His only option is to nuke Iran, which would lead to WW3, or get out of there, he cannot win a conventional war there.
Talk about ignoring history, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, there is a long list of wars before this one that should have been noted what happened. The Pentagon told him not to do it, but he listened to Israel instead.
Beans🫘 says
I wouldn’t worry about invading Iran. It’s not possible to do without a major draft and hundred thousand USA casualties. Even then the insurgency would wait us out.
I could see limited missions, but we should worry about mission creep. Iran is too large, too mountainous and too loaded with weapons in deep bunkers. Best bet is to arm ethnic groups, but even then the Hormuz is closed forever by the Islamists, crashing the global economy.
Trump is in a tough place right now. Tougher than the right wing media tells us .
Walter Sieruk says
It’s best that President Trump not take the ill advised statements by the disingenuous officials of those Islamic countries too seriously..
Furthermore, President Trump and the United States Congress and the heads of the Pentagon along this the head commanders US military of all the branches of the US . Should be very much aware that, in spite of those so-called “talks” with representatives of the Islamic regime of Iran. The intentions of despots still in power in that tyrannical e bellicose , hostile towards America as ever , since it began in the year 1979. As observed in one of its constant themes is “Death to the USA.”
Therefore it should be made known and clear that if the founder of the current Islamic tyranny ,Ayatollah Khomeini would still be alive today ,he would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.”
If Ayatollah Khomeini had clearly announced that “Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war….There are hundreds psalms and hadiths urging of Muslims to value war and to fight. …I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.” [1] So if he was alive today who would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.” [1]
There are also many places in the Qu ‘ran that instruct in violence and killing for the cause of Islam. As found in ,for example Surah 2:191. 4:89.. 5:33. 9:5, 111,112 ,123. 47:4.

Trump may have been prudent to allow the Gulf states more time to get a negotiated deal with Iran on behalf of the USA; but he also should have put a deadline on it.
