As of 2024, Muslims constitute about “5 percent of Thailand’s 66 million population and are its largest religious minority,” but Islam is still highly influential in a country where between 90 and 94% of the population is Buddhist, as revealed in the report below. This influence is what makes this story particularly significant. The pattern is backed by 1,400 years of history. Yet the daft in the West still cannot grasp this truth.
The LGBTQ+ community lives in hiding in Islamic countries; those who insult Islam both within and outside Islamic countries are in extreme danger. Recall the beheading of French school teacher Samuel Paty in the streets of Paris. The only reason why more murders do not happen in non-Muslim countries for insulting Islam is because most of the would-be perpetrators realize they would likely still run afoul of the law. “Madam Lor” needed to be escorted away by police for safety reasons, so consider what his fate might have been if left without police protection. He not only insulted Islam, but is also “transgender.”

A leading Muslim senator and former human rights commissioner, Angkhana Neelaphaijit, has blasted what she called “mob rule” after more than 1,000 Muslims descended on a Bangkok street to confront a transgender Muslim accused of insulting Islam during a viral livestream. The explosive standoff in Ramkhamhaeng ended with the individual publicly apologising, slapping their own face and having their head shaved before a furious crowd, while police rushed to prevent further violence as the incident triggered fierce nationwide debate over religious pressure, vigilante action and transgender rights in Thailand.
Everywhere the Muslim population increases, divisions, hostile rows and violence take place whenever anyone is perceived, rightly or wrongly, to have insulted Islam.

in terms of the word “insult”.
If you are not Muslim, the “insult” is your very existence.
You don’t have to say, or do, anything – your existence, and not being Muslim, is an “insult”.
Your unbelief IS the insult.
Islam’s proof of your actively”insulting Islam” is that you know about Islam – and reject it.
Muslims are required to defend Islam/Mohammed/Allah from “insult” with Jihad.
They claim you cause the war by your “insult” of unbelief.
Islam claims a “defensive” war then they are “defending” Islam/Mohammed/Allah against the insult of unbelief of the Infidels.
That is how they claim that their clearly offensive aggression and violence are “a defensive war”.
Because they are taking defensive actions against you, having started the war, by your unbelief.
If not for your unbelief there would be no war.
This is why followers of Islam are so touchy – everything unIslamic is an “insult”.
The U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights are an insult to Islam. Islam wants Sharia.
Islam wants to govern over Muslims and Unbelievers. Anything else would be an “insult” to Islam.

Oh, good grief.
Uncle Kepha hates violence, and weeps for Thailand that it should suffer Islamicist troubles. But more of my sympathies are for the ordinary Buddhist (and, rarely, Christian) people of the southern Changwats who must face a resurgence of Pattani separatist violence.
But, while I was employed at AmEmbassy Bangkok, it seemed that some there thought I was “un-American” because I had absolutely no interest in watching a khatoey (transgender) show. Indeed, I thought the whole sexual tourism scene utterly sordid; and I was especially ashamed of my fellow Americans who, knowing they were riddled with HIV/AIDS, would go to Bangkok or Manila for a last fling with sex workers as young as they could find them, and then tell themselves they were “helping poor families survive”.
That the LGBT and feminist communities in the USA should be calling for “free Palestine” and sympathizing with Islam here in the USA makes me all the more certain that both movements are not to be trusted at all, and clear symptoms of a very serious moral and spiritual rot in our land. In my lifetime, I’ve seen transgenderism go from bad entertainment inhabiting the seediest clubs in town to vying with radical feminism as America’s national religion. God , please save us (said with the Third Commandment in mind).

I knew that Southern Thailand had a muslim population but I didn’t know that they had any presence in Bangkok. Hopefully Thai authorities will take action.
