And certainly there are elements of the West that want to do exactly that. There are others, however, who do not approve of homosexual activity and believe it to be immoral, but who do not think that it should carry criminal penalties. This is the difference between the Western idea of virtue, the deliberate choice of the good, and the Islamic idea of virtue, which is based solely upon coercion and the fear of draconian punishments.
“PM in Muslim-majority Senegal condemns Western ‘tyranny’ for ‘imposing homosexuality on the rest of the world,'” by Perkin Amalaraj, Daily Mail, May 22, 2026:
Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko today condemned Western ‘tyranny’ in wanting to ‘impose’ homosexuality ‘on the rest of the world’ and rejected any attempt to stop the application of a new law toughening sentences for same-sex relations.
LGBTQ issues have stirred controversy in Muslim-majority Senegal in recent years and gay rights advocacy is frequently denounced as a tool used by Westerners to impose foreign values.
In late March, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye signed into law legislation doubling the maximum penalty for same-sex relations, amid a crackdown on the country’s gay community.
‘There are eight billion human beings in the world, but there is a small nucleus called the West which, because it has resources and controls the media, wants to impose it [homosexuality] on the rest of the world,’ Sonko said in an address to lawmakers in the west African country.
The new law punishes ‘acts against nature’, a term used to signify same-sex relations, by five to 10 years’ imprisonment, compared with one to five years previously.
It also provides for three to seven years in prison for those found guilty of promoting or financing same-sex relationships….

Their country their rules. But why oh why do we keep letting them into our country?
abu taleb says
If we let countires rule their own rules with evil, then we have become evil too. For example, do we close our eyes when Taliban or Iran treat the women badly, or Pakistan and India oppress the minorities. Or China, Nigeria, murder their people.
Certainly we don’t have to engage a war with such countries, but doing nothing including “only praying” means we are helping those countries doing evil. We should do what we are supposed to do.
OLD GUY says
abu taleb, what are we supposed to do?

A country that is third world has social unrest ,cannot provide safe drinking water to the majority of its people. Has .anyone who can get out of this hellhole of country fleeing to the west. Is always on the edge of a civil war telling the west what laws it should impost on its own people living in the western world? Those sharia laws and Islam always seems to work so well in keeping third world hellholes in a permeant status of third world .Like communism in Cuba ,or Islam in Africa they have no self reflection on what causes their poverty and miserere it is their systems that do not work .They invade the west with refugees who want to change our systems in the west to the failures they left behind because it fits their cult beliefs? Crazy progressives in the west denied that these systems are failures ,want to replace or try these parasitic systems ,Islam has failed for over 1200 years ,communism for over about 110 years the evidence is all over the world .

He is partly right in that the Western Left wants to export LGBTQ+ values to the entire world, regardless of whether or not their people want it (just like they do in the West itself). We saw that a few years ago when Justin Trudeau made a big deal about Uganda’s crackdown on LGBTQ+ and tried to get that country sanctioned by the British Commonwealth, in the process driving Kampala into the arms of Beijing and Moscow
By contrast, the Western Right is happy to let those other countries do their own thing, since it isn’t a globalist movement
I’m no fan of Senegal, since it is a muslim country, but like Jerry said, their country, their rules. And yeah, we shouldn’t allow them into the West
John Pepple says
I wasn’t aware of Trudeau’s doing that. Thanks for telling me. I’d like to say that maybe people like him are more consistent than I have been giving them credit for, but I assume that since he wanted open borders, he wasn’t bothered by any Ugandans who came to Canada with homophobic attitudes.

I don’t want criminal penalties for virtually any kind of adult consensual sexual behavior but I also don’t want other peoples’ sexual “proclivities” shoved in my face, and which is just around the corner from happening big time with Pride Month beginning on Monday. Think about it. Veterans get two days a year, Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but gays et al. get a whole month. Yuck. Things are our of joint.

That’s fine. Their country, their rules. But then Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko won’t be upset when the United States stops sending the “humanitarian aid” to Senegal, right? Right?

Seeing same sexuality sex is immoral in Islam then have them explain Muslims having sex with male animals .

So it is OK for Islamists to follow their prophet in fancying a 4 yr old girl marrying her when 6 and penetrative sew when she was 9. . Do as the Prophet did?
