Rubio: Islamic Republic of Iran would rather invest in ‘rapists and murderers of Hamas… than their own people’

The thing Rubio likely doesn’t realize is that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as Hamas and Hizballah, do not think of those rapes and murders as a mark of shame. They are proud of them. That’s why the Hamas jihadis filmed them on bodycams: for distribution among their appreciative fellow jihadis. They were fulfilling the commands of the Qur’an and the example of Muhammad, and so why should they be ashamed? The biggest impediment to Westerners trying to navigate relations with Muslim countries is that Westerners assume that everyone in the world thinks exactly the way they do, and has exactly the same desires and priorities. This is not the case. Rubio, in his position as secretary of state, should know better.

This investment is what the media “should be asking me about; that’s what the BBC should be covering; and that’s what these other media outlets should be covering—is how evil these people are in Iran and the damage they’ve done to people all over the world,” Rubio continued….

  1. A lot of people are enamored by Rubio these days, given the alternatives who’ve suddenly turned antisemitic. But I remember in 2016 when he was pretty soft on islam, and I have a hunch that he hasn’t changed on that one bit! Note that being supportive of Israel doesn’t automatically translate into being islam-aware, or else, he wouldn’t have tolerated Pakistan being an intermediary b/w the US and Iran

    I know how bad the Dems are, but it’s getting increasingly difficult to support an increasingly mediocre GOP, from POTUS on down to the TPUSA crowd that thinks that we’re in this war at Israel’s behest

      At least Rubio acknowledges that you can’t really reason with fanatics, plus the fact that they will remain dangerous in any case. I think he holds much more realistic views on the whole situation than many other politicians these days.

      You are making the same mistake Rubio is – assuming that the islamic regime, Hamas, Hizbullah, Houthis, et al are just “fanatics”. They’re not: as we have discussed in some stories yesterday, they are muslims following what’s already there in qur’an & sunnah, as taught by imams, maulvis, mullahs and ayatollahs worldwide

      If Sec Rubio had indeed changed his mind, I’d welcome it. I see no evidence that he has. In 2016, even while he was protesting on behalf of muslims against Americans who said they wanted them gone, he was still as pro-Israel as he is today. The only people who have shifted are the Tucker Carlsons of the world, who turned on Israel after October 2023. Rubio wasn’t the one who changed

      • You are – kind of – misreading what I am saying. At this very moment, high-end officials in the USA are dealing with the worst kind of muslim fanatics around. At this very stage, this government has to keep the focus exactly on how to deal with that. The fanaticism of this specific regime is at the very forefront at this point. (+ the other groups you mentioned)

        To be quite frank, whether they are either muslim or not, seems to be less relevant. Here’s why : the mindset of fanatics is what makes the preservation of internal istability in any given country or region on this planet teetering on the brink, as you well know.

        I don’t think I need to remind you that the psychological aspects of fanaticism are contributing to this, irrespective of what any fanatic wants to believe. A man like Charlie Kirk for instance paid with his life and the perpetrator was not a muslim.

        Furthermore, I also tend to believe that Western societies don’t really understand what makes terrorists tick, really. We tend to underestimate how other people in this world – particularly non-Westerners – seem to think. Also, fanatics are always prepared to squander away their own lives for the sake of establishing their ideological goals, they will literally sacrifice their own well-being in order to do so. Westerners can’t really fathom this at all.And that’s basically because we always put the nexus on reasonability, “talking things through.”

        And it won’t work. That’s what we are looking at in the 21st century, and most people are not waking up to this.

        A while ago, I watched a documentary on the Vietnam war. The situation in North Vietnam was socio-economically catastrophic. In this documentary, some former VC and NVA cadres were interviewed, and what they said was quite revealing, stuff like :

        “We had absolutely nothing in North Vietnam, no food for days…” “We were twiddling our thumbs, all our families were dirt poor…”

        However, the same people were pretty much overjoyed with the prospect of going to war and dragging all manner of heavy weaponry and ammunition through the Ho Chi Minh trail all the way to South Vietnam. Even if they risked dying along the way.

        I put it to you that the USA has lost the Vietnam war because Westerners in general (and particularly Europeans) can not really gauge the mind of a genuine fanatic who is willing to risk everything to establish “a higher goal”. Which is the case with the mullah regime and all the other groups you mentioned, among others.

        Plus the fact that they keep crawling out of the woodwork. And whether they are muslims (Iranians, Houthis, Hizbollah or whatever), communists (like the NVA or the VC) or woke terrorists makes no difference. They all share the same indset.

        While the West is drowning in fickle bullshit and effete rhetoric.

    • Rubio, Tom Barrack, and Donald Trump must realize that their intrigues will likely leave the Kurds without a Kurdish language and will therefore likely kill M. Abdi by the Kurds.

    Perhaps I’m missing something, but I do not see how any deal made with the theocratic nut-jobs still controlling Iran will be worth anything at all.

    Finally, I will mention again something I have before here at JW, i.e., as dysfunctional as so many people on planet Earth are, three examples being Latin Americans, Russians and Arabs, who in the Hell is more dysfunctional than the Persian people who have “given” to the world the single most annoying and ass-hole nation in all the world over the past half century and who accomplished exactly what before this? Sorry, but Iran’s “illustrious history” extending back some 2500 years doesn’t appear to this commenter as a boon to mankind but, with few exceptions, an impediment to mankind.

    • Also, how does he not prevent his boss make Pakistan – the country that harbored Osama and most top al Qaeda leaders – the negotiating partner & venue for these negotiations? That is enough to tell me that no matter how pro-Israel he may be, Rubio has learned nothing about Islam in the last 10 years

      • …and our other negotiating partner is Qatar, who is the financial backbone of Hamas and the residence of top Hamas operatives. This negotiation was lost before it started. Not sure Rubio is to blame for that but somebody sure is stupid

  5. Great comment from Rubio. He seems to be the only realist on how world domination by Islam and China directly affects the US. The Democrats and isolationist Republicans are either useful idiots for the anti western civilization crowd or intentional head in the sand focused.

    • But, Cynthia, Rubio is still trying, by his own admission, to reach a deal with such people. Look, I like Rubio but I think he still comes up short in the “realist category.”

      What we need is a Ulysses S. Grant approach, i.e., unconditional surrender. Ain’t there yet.

        • Agreed—and the alternative is too painful to contemplate because the greatest enemy of America in our era is the Democratic Party which has now been taken over by fools or worse—and it even wasn’t much before this but now it’s become far more inimical to America surviving as America. .

          I despise Islam but I despise the Democratic Party even more because the enemy within is ordinarily an even greater enemy than the enemy without, though ever increasingly Islam is becoming a secondary enemy within and this only bodes more ill.

I am a staunch Republican – have been since 1993 after Clinton’s victory, signed up as a registered Republican when I got naturalized in 2020 and even joined the Republican Committee in the county I lived until recently. I have never been more dismayed at the party than now, for a variety of reasons:

          ⮞ President Trump warming up to Qatar, preventing India from finishing its attacks on Pakistan, who he then befriends at Sharm el Sheikh and now has as a negotiating partner. Or drags on this Iranian saga indefinitely, while the world economy collapses due to Hormuz
          ⮞ An increasing number of Republicans – and a majority of GOP Zoomers – now being anti-Israel in polls, and blaming Israel for this war. Actually, it could have been done in one of 2 ways – either US greenlighting Israel doing everything and not sending anybody, which would have deprived them of the talking point that Israel is fighting this to the last American. Or we could have not engaged in the negotiation farce all this while, while more innocent Iranians die at the hands of the remnants of Basij/IRGC

          Yeah, yeah, I know that the Dems are worse, and I’m not expecting the GOP to be perfect here. But after a brief period of awesomeness at the start of last year, the GOP has suddenly devolved into a really mediocre party like it was in the last 2 years of President Bush. It’s hard to be enthusiastic about such a party, not to mention that something like 1 in 5 Republicans are on the Tucker platform, and have essentially split the party

        • One of the points I forgot to mention above was major Republicans – like Giuliani, Pence, Bolton, Pompeo, et al rallying in support of the Mojahedeen Khalq, which is an islamo-marxist cult militia that most Iranians hate. In fact, it has been described as being even worse than the current regime, in that it combines Marxism w/ islam

          One would have thought that these people, who live & breathe public policy, would have done their homework on such a group before backing them. It would be akin to the US backing the Sandinistas or Che Guevara during the Cold War

  8. I remember it being pointed out that the Grooming-Rape-Torture Gangs were family/tribe/community set ups. The actual rapists would sign in when they gathered at a house so that the house owner would know how much to charge each rapist for having made the victims available. It was a group, community, activity.
    They were not ashamed. They made videos not only to blackmail the victims – but to share. The only person feeling shame was the victim, the perpetrators were proud. They were abusing Kafir girls as
    their Allah, their Quran and their Prophet modeled and instructed them to do.

    I’m disheartened when I hear our leaders sound so unrealistically naive. Their naïveté doesn’t match with reality, so it must be something else. Some feel like they know what that something else is. I don’t.
    I know deception goes both ways. Rather like the U.S. relations with Stalin during WWII. We had to pretend with “Uncle Joe” until the war was won.
    I only know we will eventually see but I don’t know what we will see.

    • If rape was a tool of the IDF – like it is for jihadist groups – then there would have been retaliatory rapes in Gaza after all the rapes that the Palis (not just Hamas) did of Israelis on October 7th 2023

      Needless to say, it was out of the question for anybody calling the shots on the Israeli side

      As for Abu Ghraib, it was 2 rogue American soldiers who got disciplined and dishonorably discharged after that was exposed

      So much for your pathetic attempt to draw a moral equivalence b/w jihadists and us, be it Americans or Israelis
