They want not self-determination, but a 23rd Arab state, and a restoration of the land of Israel to the umma, as per the Qur’an’s command, “Drive them out from where they drove you out” (2:191).

Israel started off as a quasi-socialist country, and until 1956, the Soviets were trying to woo them into joining the Soviet bloc. In fact, as far as economic ideology went, Israel was largely left-of-center through much of its history, and it was only w/ Netanyahu that they decided to dabble in free market economics. A lot of other countries preceded Israel in following the capitalist experiment – not just Western European countries or the US, but also countries like Pinochet’s Chile
And today, Capitalism is making inroads in South America again – most recently in Bolivia. It has won over Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia, re-taken Chile and trying to regain Brazil. I do think Uruguay can be recovered
So the history & future of Capitalism is independent of Israel, and what they do. It has rewarded Israel well, and may well sustain it once Israel becomes more militarily independent of the US. However, even if Israel elects a government that embraces Socialism, Capitalism will continue to do fine in other places that have experienced its success

Here is an inconvenient truth, that particular section of land in the middle east is the land of Israel and belongs to the Jewish people. It is not the land of the Palestinians or the Arabs. In the Bible in the book of Genesis God gave that land to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel) by an eternal Covenant. Today we see the Jewish people returning to their ancestral land that the creator of the heavens and earth gave to them.
