“Ninety million proud and honorable Iranians inside and outside the country regard all of Iran’s identity-based, spiritual, human, scientific, industrial and technological capacities — from nanotechnology and biotechnology to nuclear and missile capabilities — as national assets, and will protect them just as they protect the country’s waters, land and airspace,” the Khamenei statement said.
It referred to America as the “Great Satan,” a long hurled insult by Iranian leaders toward the US since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The statement seemed to signal Iran would maintain its control over the waterway, which sits in the territorial waters of Iran and Oman. Iran had been charging some ships reportedly $2 million apiece to travel through the strait.
It said that Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz will make the Gulf more secure, and that Tehran’s “legal rules and new management” of the strait will benefit all the region’s nations….

I am gong to state what I already did on a previous thread from a day or two ago, to wit, I am exceedingly tired hearing about how fine and wonderful the Persian people are. These very people have not accomplished hardly anything at all respecting the advancement of liberty, the scientific method, technological advancements, apologizing for past wrongdoings (as the West has done but to excess), et al. They have even been stupid and craven enough since the 7th century AD to disregard one of their few achievements, Zoroastrianism, for the single worst religion of all time (what?—you didn’t fight tooth and nail to keep Z instead of I?—sorry, no sympathy here).
In the meantime, Iran has proven to be arguably the single worst nation on the planet, a bane to even other Muslim nations let alone to the West, and especially where America and Israel are concerned. The idiotic and simply awful “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” garbage only comes from Iran. Even those who wish the West ill, as examples China, Russia and North Korea, at least have the “decency” to do it in a subterfuge kind of way—and yes, I prefer the “subterfuge option.”
The Persian people are underwhelming. Clearly. Done with them being lauded. They don’t deserve it. If they don’t overthrow the hideous regime that has governed them since 1979, then they really don’t deserve any praise. After all, the truism is that every people have the government they deserve. Just so with the Persians.
Put another way, the Persian people have not accomplished all that much in their entire history, including their somewhat claim to fame, the dynasty founded by Cyrus in the 6th century BC and which was still second-rate in comparison to ancient Greece and Rome.
Man up, Persians. If not now, then when? And while you’re at it, abandon once and for all Shiite Islam. It has weighed you down terribly and, a la Ataturk, is a rotting corpse poisoning your lives.

Iranian Islam has simplified or should we say, corralled, human life to a tier below its potential, trading the unproven, fantastic promise of a carnal paradise for limited living conditions and a commitment to action on behalf of “scholarly” men claiming they know what God demands. The former professor “is a self-identifying Muslim anarchist and diasporic settler of color,” according to his website.
Students at Columbia University’s Union Theological Seminary have petitioned for the rehiring of professor Abdou, who posted “I’m with Hamas & Hezbollah & Islamic Jihad” on social media shortly after the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, The College Fix previously reported.
His talk at Virginia Tech was not the first stop on Abdou’s tour.
In March, the Islamic studies scholar told students at Union Theological Seminary to “be a threat,” and praised the assassination of two “Zionists” during an online event, The Fix reported.
Students argued the professor’s statement was merely an expression of “support of the movement to liberate Palestine.”
Abdou taught the graduate-level course on decolonialism and queerness.
