Jewish Groups Call on UK to Ban Entry of Hasan Piker

Hasan Piker is a foul-mouthed antisemite and supporter of the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. He has now been invited to take part in a live debate in London, and UK Jewish groups have called on the government to block his entry. UK Jewish groups have called for the government to ban the entry of a notorious far-left US political commentator with troubling positions on Hamas and Hezbollah who has also described Orthodox Jews as “inbred” and has likened Zionism to Nazism.

The UK government has designated both Hamas and Hezbollah as terror groups, and allowing their enthusiastic champion Hasan Piker into the UK weakens the government’s attempt to undermine both groups. Furthermore, the current government has promised to make fighting the epidemic of antisemitism in the country a priority. Does admitting a rabid antisemite with a large following on social media make sense? Shouldn’t the British government institute a policy of banning all antisemites extreme enough to say, as Hasan Piker has, that those reported rapes of Israeli girls on October 7, 2023 never happened, and even if they did, so what? Piker doesn’t care: “It doesn’t matter if rapes f***ing happened on 7 October, like that doesn’t change the dynamic for me… the Palestinian resistance is not perfect.”

Hasan Piker, a far-left streamer and political commentator, was due to appear at an event in June for UnHerd magazine, in conversation with far left economist Yanis Varoufakis and a former Associate Editor of the Financial Times, Wolfgang Munchau. The magazine described this as “a special live recording of the Econoclasts podcast” in which Varoufakis and Munchau would “challenge Piker on what the ascendency of the online Left means for America and the world.

Piker, who has millions of followers across different social media platforms, has a long track record of highly incendiary comments. He described the allegations of extreme sexual violence carried out against Israelis on 7 October as “rape fantasies”, subsequently going on to say that “it doesn’t matter if rapes f***ing happened on 7 October, like that doesn’t change the dynamic for me… the Palestinian resistance is not perfect.” He has described how in his opinion “Hamas is a thousand times better than Israel”, describing it as “a militant resistance comprised of orphaned soldiers born into a 77 year occupation” and has said that he is “a lesser evil voter and therefore I would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.”…

Israel is the tiny state — it’s hard to discern it on a mappamundi — of the Jewish people, that has had to fight four major wars for its very existence, and several smaller ones against various terror groups including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Islamic Jihad. Hamas, on the other hand, is a group that through a reign of terror continues to hold Gaza in thrall, imprisoning, torturing, and killing any Gazan who dares to challenge its rule or complains about its massive corruption. Just three of the Hamas leaders — the late Ismail Haniya, Mousa abu Marzouk, and Khaled Meshaal, have acquired between three and four billion dollars apiece, money that they stole from the aid that foreign donors gave to be used for the people of Gaza. This is the group that Hasan Piker “would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.”

Piker has also described how he does “not have a single issue with Hezbollah as a form of militancy trying to incur penalties on the genocidal state of Israel.” He has also described Hezbollah’s flag as his favourite… Look it up. I’m not even kidding. It’s actually a dope flag…It’s got an AK on it and a fucking hand holding it up!” He has described how he believes that “any kind of fuc**** Zionist tendency should be treated in the same way as being a f***ing rabid neo-Nazi” and has described Zionism as “a mental illness”….

Ah, eloquence. Let’s not forget Hasan Piker’s eloquence, the brilliance of his phrasing. No wonder he has two, or possibly three, million followers.

Other comments made by Hasan include comparing an [antisemitic] Houthi pirate to Anne Frank and reacting to the appearance of a Vietnamese pro-Trump guest on the BBC in 2020 by calling her a “South Vietnamese motherfu*****, whatever, like Christian supremacist psychotic fuc****refugee living in America now and able to talk that sh**” on his stream, telling her to “go back and live in fuc**** South Vietnam in the same conditions.”

More of Piker’s potty-mouthed eloquence. This time, for once, it’s not directed at Jews but at a Vietnamese refugee from a Communist dictatorship — remember, Hasan Piker is far-left, and always ready to defend Communist regimes. On a trip to China, he proudly held up Mao’s Little Red Book to his army of online followers. That Vietnamese refugee — a real refugee, not a Muslim faker seeking welfare benefits — from a Communist state, describing what life was like in that state, was bound to infuriate him.

The UK government has every right, when Jewish men are being stabbed to death in Manchester and stabbed, but not killed, in Golders Green, and Jewish ambulances set ablaze, and protest marchers are screaming “death, death to the IDF” and “globalize the Intifada,” to try to limit the presence of those contributing to this epidemic of violent antisemitism. So start, please, Keir Starmer or whoever succeeds him, with keeping out Hasan Piker, that Turkish delight, who upon landing at Heathrow should immediately be sent right back to the good ol’ USA, where, alas, because he is a citizen, we have to let him in.
