Illinois: Muslim speaker at state capital claims that Islam is ‘woven into the tapestry of this nation’

The speaker claims that the history of Islam in America didn’t begin in 1965 (when immigration laws changed, allowing for much more immigration from non-European countries) or anytime in the 20th century. She claims Islam is “woven into the very tapestry of this nation.” Yet where is it? Where are the Muslim Founding Fathers? Where are the Muslim signers of the Declaration of Independence? Where are the Muslims who fought in the Civil War (on either side)? Where are the Muslim veterans of the Spanish-American War, or World War I, or World War II, or Korea? There might be a handful for Korea, and subsequent conflicts, but the fact is that otherwise, Islam has had no significant presence in the U.S. until September 11, 2001. And it was only after that date that mass Muslim migration began, so most Muslims in the U.S. have been here less the 25 years.

The purpose of this fanciful claim is to stymie efforts to resist Sharia or end Muslim migration into the U.S. It is there home, it has always been their home, and Sharia is as American as apple pie. Yet once the Muslim community grows large enough and powerful enough, it will begin to assert its rights at the expense of other communities. Islam in power is not interested in being part of a tapestry. It is the whole thing, with no room for anything else.

  10. Who remembers Hussain Obummer’s mentor and advisor Jeremiah Wright ?
    He was a fine example of the Judeo-Christian principles America was founded on. The only difference was that he wanted to take America down like Bernie or that new kook in Maine. Nobody i served with in Iraq as infantry remembers this guy. It’s interwoven, the hard left, the hate for America and all it stands for, and the Ifestation by Ackbarbarians. G-d save America please as we seem to not be doing a very good job.

          A reader from Free Republic has dug up an old article last year (March 07) From TNR about Obama. It was written by Ryan Lizza, Senior editor at The New Republic. It’s a biographical piece, but in the article, it explicitly states that Jeremiah Wright is a former Muslim.(and Jesus was a palestinian)

        • ploome, thank you. Having lived in Chicago for close to thirty years i remember having heard that amongst locals. I was trying to find that to share with somehistory, but I could not. It was a big deal having made it on the local news and people thought it would kill Obama s shot at the white house. That is the real reason Obama distanced himself so quickly from the Rev.

    Btw, I still haven’t got an answer of what good thing Muhammad has done that did not have ulterior motive to profit himself. I even give an example of what I have done, asking muslims whether Muhammad would do the same or not. No answer, even though I don’t consider myself as a good person.
    So, if Islam has woven into some history, it certainly is not a good thing.
